Jeremy Waks creates naturally lush childhood sanctuary to play backdrop to one’s midnight escapades

TREEHOUSE, a new Miami Beach nightclub, will celebrate its debut with a soft opening reception on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, 9 PM to midnight, featuring music by DJ Troy Kurtz, Damaged Goods and Canadian DJ duo Ess & Emm. The warm and welcoming indoor/outdoor space will be an adult playground-of-sorts designed and owned by seasoned nightlife purveyor Jeremy Waks. Positioned at 323 23rd Street in South Beach, TREEHOUSE is smartly located among a bevy of hotels and clubs nearby such as The W, Gansevoort Miami Beach, and the Setai Hotel.

The 8,000-square-foot venue boasts three different rooms, each laying ground to a new environment. Upon entering TREEHOUSE, guests will find themselves in a small, intimate boîte featuring plush leather banquettes and ribbons of teak wood lining the walls. The main room lies just beyond and showcases inventive lighting and sound for a high-energy atmosphere. The cool outdoor area serves as the nightclub’s third room, where guests can lounge and enjoy views of night sky in a Wynwood Art District-inspired setting.

TREEHOUSE is the newest venture by 26-year old Waks, the entrepreneur that previously launched Miami Beach-based Heathrow Lounge. “I always had a clear vision of a space that would evoke all the childhood charm of a tree house, but filtered through a mature taste-level, while presenting the gritty undertones of Miami’s art enclaves,” says Waks. “TREEHOUSE is a sophisticated version of a fantastical getaway and serves as a local hideout to those looking for nightlife with a downtown sensibility in South Beach.”

Waks seeks to provide an ideal nightlife destination for savvy club-goers via TREEHOUSE’s focus on specialty drinks and its lineup of high-caliber entertainment and productions. He will layer the club’s content and formatting with a variety of cultural heavy-hitters, in addition to a music lineup from Miami-cult icon the Overthrow, which will range from open-format, to nu-wave dance and electro. “TREEHOUSE is anchored to a large mesh of Miami’s art and nightlife roots; essentially, this is locals building a TREEHOUSE, for locals,” says Waks with conviction.

TREEHOUSE is an 8,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor lounge-nightclub, a sophisticated environment reminiscent of a childhood getaway. TREEHOUSE is open Friday and Saturday from 10 PM to 4 AM.

M’DELA Bio:
As a little girl, M’DELA would roam around her living room in Lima, Peru, holding her plastic recorder as a microphone and singing along to the songs of ABBA, Olivia Newton-John, and The Cure. Who knew that her ‘kid’ performances would evolve into a long music career?

Always rooted in the music, she fell in love with the dance music of the 80s and 90s and absorbed all the pop and rock influences from Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Blondie, New Order, Erasure, The Cure, Flock of Seagulls, Eurythmics, B-52’s, Michael Jackson, and Softcell.

“Siempre Te Amare” came to life with her adaptation of the The Cure’s “Love Song” in Spanish, “it really spoke to me…” confessed the singer/songwriter and in her words she said, “it reflects the longing for true love and, at the same time, the promise that love will triumph over evil.”

The song was produced in Mexico City by the country’s top remixing producer Charly Gutierrez (DJ Carlos G) whose work includes over 400 remixes from top selling artists such as Paulina Rubio. The video was shot in South Beach with the famous Miami skyline in the background. The production is ready for a 2010 fall release.

M’DELA’s venture into the Dance Music world stems from a professional career as an award-winning songwriter and successful performances in Latin America.

The music video for “Rockstar” was filmed at celebrity favorite Cheeseburger Baby (http://cheeseburgerbaby.net/), a few blocks from TWIST South beach. Inspired by movies such as Scarface and Party Monster, and works by David LaChapelle, the video features a multitude of interesting characters led by Corey Michaels himself as they take over the restaurant for a night of debauchery. “The video takes the viewer on a journey filled with unexpected surprises. I wanted a video that reflected not only my lifestyle, but an era of true glamour and fun,” says Corey.

Corey Michaels has written and produced pop/dance music for over six years. After living in Amsterdam, NL he moved back to Miami, FL in the fall of 2008 and began recording Who Killed the King?. The album is described as a fusion of American pop music with Eurodance sounds as each song is a pulsating club banger. Corey has performed all over the world including Exit Club and Piano Bar in Amsterdam, NL and the Florida International University “Break the Silence” pride event. La Fee Verte, South Florida’s tease burlesque and absinthe club, will celebrate the latest installment of its monthly soirée “Stiletto Mafia” this Friday, September 17 at 10 p.m. Co-owners and acclaimed fashion photographers, Antoine Verglas and Navid, will host the evening along with local nightlife impresario Jose Ortiz.

This month’s “Stiletto Mafia” will celebrate several of Miami’s favorite fashionistas such as designer Cristina Rice of Bri Bri Boutique and Cuban Rice Jewelry; socialite and owner of Brickell’s Boca Tanning Club Zurami Pascual; H.O.W.L. (Handle Only With Love) jewelry designer Tini Courtney; style blogger Cynthia Dalagelis (http://cynthiadalagelis.onsugar.com); Living Dolls Boudoir designer Jiussana Briseno and stylist and fashion designer Juan Carlos Cajigas-Berrios. All hosts will showcase their brands during an exclusive trunk show located in the second level of the lounge along with select pieces from Casopia Fashions, Flying Colors and KRELesque.

Guests will also enjoy complimentary cocktails from 10 p.m. to midnight and dance the night away to the beats of South Florida’s renowned Mark Leventhal. In addition, everyone in attendance will witness wild performances by lead temptress Nicole Soden of the club’s tantalizing Madames du Mischief dancers.
