Mad As Hell People Magazine in collaboration with The Phluid Project are celebrating Pride Month with a series of events titled “The Future is Inclusive.”
The celebration starts on Tuesday, June 15th with the Miami Pop-Up of The Phluid Project and the historic release of their PRIDE 21 apparel and accessory collections which will be available in over 5000 retailers nationwide including Nordstrom, Macy’s, Saks Fifth OFF, and Target. The Phluid Project is Rob Smith’s response to the growing need to bend and break the barriers of gender. It provides a shopping experience focused on selling genderless apparel and empowering individuals to express themselves freely and with authenticity. The pop-up will be located inside Maison Marie Saint Pierre, 367 NE 61st St, Miami FL 33137 through Friday, June 18th.
On Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 5pm Maison Marie Saint Pierre, will host a cocktail party followed by a Diversity Speaker Panel at 6pm featuring Special Guest Panelist Rob Smith of the Phluid Project, to discuss how retailers and designers are embracing all things LGBTQ+ in store merchandising, gender fluid fashion and year round dedicated floor space to this demographic. Additional panelists from the worlds of Fashion, Design, Retail and Media will include Monica Trasandes, Hispanic Media Director, GLAAD; Asanyah Davidson, Chairperson, Fashion Educator and Designer, Miami Dade Fashion Institute; Marie St. Pierre, Owner and Designer, Maison Marie Saint Pierre; Laurie Weisberg, Chief Operating Officer, Creatd and Vocal; Alessandra Gold, Co-Founder and Creative Director for Mad As Hell People, De-Risk, and Global brand Kruzin Footwear, The event will be moderated by Herb Sosa, LGBQ+ Community Leader, former corporate retail designer, and President and CEO of Unity Coalition|Coalicion Unida.
The discussion is open to the public when they RSVP to madashellpeople@gmail.com. Proceeds will benefit Unity Coalition|Coalicion Unida’s (UC|CU) UnityLEADS program, as well as UC|CU’s MicroGIVING Incubator Fund – offering monetary and mentorship incentives for continued education, support, community building, vision and start-ups.
The party continues at 8:30pm at the Oasis Wynwood, 2335 N Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33127, with a PRIDE Celebration hosted by Ultimate Miami Drag Queen, Karla Croqueta with music by Keanu Orange and GAMI. The evening will include performances by Lady Paraiso, Dang-Ho Yu Sicknin, Viola Putz, Opal Am Rah, Sensitive Black Hottie, Yoko Osu, and FKA Twink.
The night will also mark the launch of Mad As Hell People Magazine’s inaugural issue which commemorates 52 years of the Stonewall Pride movement (1969-2021) by featuring 52 amazing people from Miami’s local LGBTQIA+ community and showcasing the achievements of the Gay Liberation movement.
