CompARTiendo.us es una pieza de arte que, como su propio nombre lo indica, su función es compartir arte. Dicha obra pretende estimular al coleccionismo, tanto a través de su compra simbólica como de su gesto al aportar una pieza similar a pueblos donde se quiere compartir el evento artístico. De esta forma el artista, Leonel Matheu, ha utilizado una obra serigráfica en forma de postal como recurso artístico para crear puentes de unión cultural entre pueblos.

Esta pieza interactiva de arte consta de varios pasos. Una es su promoción por la vía cibernética y su acceso, que a la vez funciona como escenario de la pieza de arte. Bajo ese concepto las personas compran la pieza y a la vez comparten la simetría de la misma con otro individuo en un lugar distante que se le entrega de forma humana y aleatoria, cumpliéndose así un puente de enlace cultural.

Esta obra se pretende anunciar durante las ferias de arte Art Basel y Art Miami en Diciembre 2011 con el propósito de presentarla dentro de un contexto que le facilita su promoción por su condición de pieza de arte conceptual. Luego que la pieza se compre vía cibernética, el artista pretende repartir el numero similar de las cantidades compradas, en este caso en Cuba por ser su país natal, y seria apropiado en el contexto de la 11a. Bienal de la Habana en el 2012 por su gran importancia dentro de las Artes Plásticas y en las Artes Visuales en el mundo.

La postal mide 6×8 pulgadas, y tanto el coleccionista como el transeúnte recibe una pieza de 6×4 pulgadas impresa en serigrafía, seriada y firmada por el artista.

The Suarez has recently added actress and agent to her resume. She is currently in the works of opening her own casting agency. So that she can bring fresh and undiscovered talents upfront and into the spotlight. The Suarez plans on letting her list of experiences and talents grow, there is no plans of her stopping or slowing down. She is a force to be reckoned with, her reach is extensive and very prominent! And her voice is always heard above everything and anything. When The Suarez speaks…people pay attention!

The Suarez has been in the music scene for the last 12 years. From the Breakbeat Days in Orlando, to the House Music scene in Miami. Because of this, she has become great friends with some world famous DJs and even some of the Local Talent. The Suarez’s taste in music is all over the place, she considers herself to be musically promiscuous. But if she were to consider herself as a child of any one genre? Essex House Hotel to Showcase Miami Artists During Art Basel Weekend with Natives: An Exhibition by Local Artists

The Essex House Hotel will present Natives, featuring original pieces from South Florida artists at a special cocktail reception featuring complimentary cocktails and light bites at Essex House Saturday December 3 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

To create the Natives exhibition, the Essex House asked local artists to create work inspired by the Essex House lobby mural, which was painted in 1938 by artist Earl LePan. The mural depicts the swamps of Florida and was designed to tell early South Beach guests the story of South Florida. Artists will be creating paintings, photographs and mixed media pieces inspired by, but not directly reflecting the piece.

The reception will also include a silent auction, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the American Indian Association, which was founded to promote and care for American Indian inter-tribal social and cultural needs through social gatherings, educational programs and special events. The event is supported by MIAMI Magazine and Leblon, and will feature live music, all set in the historic art deco lobby of the Essex House.

A cocktail party featuring new original works by South Florida artists, inspired by the lobby mural at the Essex House Hotel. More than just a cocktail party, proceeds from a silent auction of the original artwork will benefit the American Indian Association.

Square Foot Art Basel Miami initiates the first site-specific project at our Miami Wynwood location. During this year’s world-acclaimed Art Basel Miami, Projects Gallery will create a mosaic-style wall in its trendy Wynwood Lofts gallery in the Wynwood Arts District. Artists from around the world were selected in a call-to-artists process that guaranteed a spot on the wall for the first one hundred applicants. This truly democratic process resulted in hundreds of works being submitted and chosen. Creating a grid comprised on 12″ x 12″ individual spaces with works of all styles and media, including painting, drawing, photography and sculpture, Projects Gallery provides artists an opportunity to be part of the Art Basel Miami art fair events. The remarkable gathering of international art fairs and renown emerging venues creates an art-conscious concentration uniquely found in Miami every year in early December. It attracts collectors, curators and artists world wide in a variety of settings with a level of enthusiasm and energy that is fitting for this international destination.
