The splendor of the Renaissance era will take over Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach for five exciting weekends, beginning February 11th, 2012. Guests can browse through the enchanted craft village, where more than 100 artisans and merchants will demonstrate and sell their wares. Twelve stages of entertainment will host a variety of performances, including the critically acclaimed “Musical Macbeth.” William Shakespeare’s classic tale of ambition, magic and murder will be told in a 30-minute whirlwind of Broadway showtunes, pop hits and slapstick comedy.

“The Florida Renaissance Festival is a South Florida tradition that has delighted fans of all ages for many years,” said Bobby Rodriguez, executive producer of the Florida Renaissance Festival. “We are excited to celebrate our 20th anniversary by bringing back many of our fans’ favorite acts and experiences.”

This year’s five themed weekends will include:

– Pirates Weekend – Pillage of the Village – Feb 18, 19 & 20
– Pet’s Weekend – Medieval Menagerie – Feb 25 & 26
– Wenches Weekend – Bodacious Bodices – March 3 & 4

Several thrilling performing acts will be featured at the Florida Renaissance Festival this year, including “Muttville,” a special performance featuring Johnny Peers and his pack of multi-talented rescue dogs, The Great Rondini and of course show favorites like the Washing Well Wenches, Celtic Mayhem and Moonie!

During the five themed weekends, guests will enjoy jousting tournaments, feast on hearty food and toast to the Royal Court with a tankard of ale or cider. The festival also will feature games of skill and chance that will challenge guests of all ages, including archery, the test of strength, Jacob’s Ladder and many more. Historical reenactments, sword fights and magical illusions are just some of the exciting events in store for this year’s festivities.
