MAD Arts, a museum, community hub and laboratory for art and technology, is proud to present The Junk Machine by conceptual artist ClownVamp.

The gallery will host a public opening reception on Saturday, October 4, from 6-10 p.m., kicking off the exhibition, which will be on view through December 7, 2025.

At the center of ClownVamp’s installation is a bright pink robot that generates endless, AI-produced “junk mail” at the push of a button. Using a local AI model on an embedded NVIDIA Jetson computer, it prints surreal, gluttony-inspired images on 6×6 inch paper with no Wi-Fi or cloud, producing a continuous flood of algorithmic output.

The Junk Machine playfully and provocatively explores the promises and perils of artificial intelligence. As ClownVamp notes, “It can create beauty, humor, and engaging interactions, but it can also be industrialized into a mechanism for proliferation of past biases, capitalist imagery, and visual noise.” The exhibition invites viewers to confront how experimental AI tools are being transformed into engines of mass production, offering an experience that is both playful and unsettling.

The gallery will host a public opening reception on Saturday, October 18, from 6-9 p.m., launching the exhibitions, which runs through March 29, 2026.

Founded in 2018 by Daria Jelonek and Perry-James Sugden, Studio Above&Below is known for data-driven, mixed-reality installations revealing hidden systems in nature and society.

Regenerative Symphony envisions a future reliant on recycling critical minerals. AI and generative audio-visual patterns create an immersive symphony of reuse, highlighting interdependence among electronics, renewable energy, and transportation.

QUANTUM LENS explores quantum technologies in three chapters: entanglement, probability, and tunneling. Created with leading UK quantum scientists, it combines virtual sculptures, immersive film, sound design, and CGI to reveal phenomena invisible to the naked eye.

Together, the works merge technology, ecology, and storytelling, offering a thought-provoking journey at the intersection of art, AI, and sustainability.

Rose Tinted is an immersive installation exploring the haunting allure of “nostalgia for a life not lived.” Drawing on the visual language of Slice of Life anime and Moe culture, RUTAMFI blurs the line between memory and media, inviting audiences to question whether the moments they long for are authentically their own or shaped by fantasy, desire, and cultural archetypes.

Born in Queens and raised in Forest Park, Georgia, RUTAMFI blends watercolor and digital media across character design, public art, and large-scale installations. Her practice centers underrepresented characters, often Black and female, engaging with themes of bias, mental health, and generational trauma. Rose Tinted continues her work in shaping Miami’s artistic landscape, crafting worlds that are playful, melancholic, and self-aware.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and NAMI Broward County will host it’s 4th annual “Artful Minds” fundraiser on Thursday, May 29th from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at MAD Arts.

Artful Minds is a showcase of “art as therapy” igniting conversations surrounding mental health and wellness and inspiring hope through art.
All artwork displayed at Artful Minds is curated by artists living with mental health conditions or who address the theme of mental health. Attendees will gain a better understanding of mental health conditions through the artists’ works and their paths to recovery.
Funds raised from Artful Minds directly benefit NAMI Broward County’s mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families affected by mental health conditions through education, support, and advocacy.
NAMI Broward County has implemented many free programs and initiatives that have significantly increased mental health awareness and support. In 2024, the organization reached over 9,000 people through its nationally-recognized Signature programs, including NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group, NAMI Family Support Groups, and NAMI Ending the Silence, as well as a new local Mentor-to-Mentee program.

“Young Hearts” (Belgium/Netherlands, 2023), a profound story exploring first love, will open this year’s OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival, internationally acclaimed as one of the largest LGBTQ+ cultural festivals in the world, on Thursday, October 17, at 7 p.m., at Regal Dania Pointe. An afterparty at the Dania Improv will take place immediately following the screening.

Fourteen-year-old Elias (Lou Goossens, in a breakthrough performance) lives a carefree life in his charming Belgian town until the arrival of Alex, a cool new neighbor. As Elias’s feelings for Alex deepen, he embarks on a journey of self-acceptance and emotional discovery, making for a touching and rewarding experience. Tri-Rail, South Florida’s premier commuter rail system, invites talented young singers, ages 5 to 17, to audition for the annual “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” competition, to be held at the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) (401 SW 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale). Auditions will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, offering participants from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties the chance to showcase their vocal abilities and compete for a spot in the 2025 final event.

Tri-Rail’s “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” competition has become a signature event, uniting children and families across the region. All performers aged 5 to 17 that reside in South Florida are invited to audition. Each act will have up to four minutes to perform in front of a panel of judges who will select the finalists for the main competition in February 2025, during Tri-Rail’s 16th annual “Rail Fun Day,” presented by Herzog. Judges will score based on vocal range, stage presence, and style.

Over the years, “Rail Fun Day” has grown into a beloved community event in Dania Beach, featuring interactive activities, food trucks, cookie decorating, face painting, and more. Last year’s event saw ten-year-old Samantha Schmerling take home the grand prize with her vocal performance, earning her $500, a one-year contract inclusive of a photo shoot with composite cards courtesy of Posche Models & Talent, and a professional studio recording session with MikeSoperMusic.

American Heritage Schools [ahschool.com], the top-ranked PK3 through 12 college preparatory school in Florida, is proud to announce its annual “K-9 Cause: An Evening of Art” auction benefiting the Broward Sheriff’s Foundation’s Retired Canine Relief Fund, on Saturday, April 20.

Everyone loves dogs; however, police dogs, or K-9s, are a special breed. Instead of enjoying the pampered pet lifestyle, K-9s dedicate their entire lives to working daily to protect and serve citizens in our community along with their fearless handlers. They are considered law enforcement officers, whose duties include constant training, apprehending suspects, and searching for explosives, drugs, and missing persons.

When the K-9s retire, their law enforcement handlers graciously adopt them and continue to care for them, as these K-9s have become their friends for life. Recognizing that the medical and healthcare for these K-9s can get quite costly, the Broward Sheriff’s Foundation has established the Retired K-9 Healthcare Fund. This Fund pays for up to 50% of the wellness care costs for all retired K-9s from any local law enforcement agency in Broward County.

Inspired by a little boy’s passion for animals and art, American Heritage Schools is raising money to “fund this fund” by selling artistic renditions of these fine K-9s. Jackson Laurie, a sophomore at American Heritage Schools, and his parents Dr. Douglas Laurie and Nikki Laurie-Van Allen have partnered with the National Art Honor Society and the award-winning Fine Arts faculty at American Heritage to create artwork of these very K-9 being honored.

American Heritage Schools, Broward Campus, will be hosting a Silent Auction for these original works of art, as well as a limited supply of prints for sale at our K-9 Cause event. 100% of all funds raised from this event will benefit the Broward Sheriff Foundation’s Retired K-9 Relief Fund.

The exhibit endeavors to reflect the original notions brought forth by the Greco Roman ideals of a platonic notion of beauty that blend with contemporary. perspectives.

This exhibit is a poetic rather political approach to the contemporary currents, appreciating the grammar of a certain identity and idea.

The female form rendered by women artists reflecting 7 unique perspectives with eloquent voices rendered through a visual narrative, a herstory, shared by all women and evolved over millennia.

It’s the Caribbean Vibes takeover of the Rock The Block Food Truck Event on Saturday, March 18 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Casino @ Dania Beach.

Tri-Rail’s “Rail Fun Day” returns to the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport Station at Dania Beach (500 Gulf Stream Way) on Saturday, February 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees of the annual free family fun day will enjoy live entertainment, arts and crafts, interactive games, cookie decorating, photos with Tri-Rail’s mascot Conductor George Green and popular costume characters, face painting, giveaways, food trucks and the “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” singing competition.

Children and families will enjoy interactive games, arts and crafts with Art and Culture Center/ Hollywood and activities from popular South Florida businesses and organizations, including Dunkin’, History Miami Museum, Humane Society of Broward County, Florida Children’s Theatre, Le P’ti Club, Camp Live Oak and the Museum of Discovery & Science. Attendees will also enjoy live stage entertainment by local arts groups plus Tri-Rail’s “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” show where young stars will show off their singing talents. The first- place winner will receive $500, a one-year contract inclusive of a photo shoot with composite cards courtesy of Posche Models & Talent and professional studio and music video recording sessions with Mike Soper Music.

YouFit Gyms, the popular nationwide fitness chain, kicks off YouFit Lifts with Benefit For Bradley on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 8AM – gym closing (times vary by location)

Benefit for Bradley, will raise funds for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, an organization that plays an integral role in the life of Jose Migenis, Florida Regional Director for YouFit Gyms. Migenis’ son, Bradley, who has been in the care of a team of specialists at Nicklaus Children’s since birth. Bradley was diagnosed with epilepsy, cortical vision impairment and cerebral palsy, conditions that affect his developmental abilities.

Patrons who contribute a $15 donation to the Benefit For Bradley Open House event will receive a 2-day pass to their YouFit Gyms. They will have the opportunity to fuel pre-or post-workout with Bagels & Coffee for Bradley from 8AM – 11AM as well as enjoy all the fitness perks including group fitness classes, Olympic weightlifting platforms, endless cardio equipment, access to YouFit Gyms premium small group training class, HIIT+, as well as be entered to win a year membership to YouFit Gyms.

At 12PM all YouFit Gyms locations will host #BurpeesforBradley Challenge, a 39-burpee challenge. This number signifies the longest number of days in which Bradley has been seizure-free in the past year. Can’t make it in person? Paying homage to the original Dania Jai-Alai Palace, which in its heyday in the ‘70s and ‘80s drew thousands of fans to the stands, this first-ever exhibition tournament will pair 16 of the sports’ top-ranked players as they compete in elimination rounds for more than $21,000 in cash and prizes.

Tri-Rail’s Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Rail Fun Day will return to the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport Station at Dania Beach on Saturday, February 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees of the 12th annual outdoor free family fun day will enjoy live entertainment, arts and crafts, interactive games, cookie decorating, photos with Tri-Rail’s mascot Conductor George Green and popular costume characters, face painting, giveaways, food trucks and the “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” singing competition.

Families who attend will enjoy interactive games, activities and samplings from popular South Florida businesses and organizations including the Florida Panthers, Broward County Transit, Stranahan House, Art and Culture Center Hollywood and Humane Society of Broward County plus event sponsor Dania Dermatology. Popular food trucks Battle Rig BBQ, Jake’s Drive-in Burgers, Tony Waffles and Bona Ice Cream will offer delicious food for sale.

Attendees will also enjoy live stage entertainment during Tri-Rail’s “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” show where young singers will show-off their singing abilities. The first-place winner will receive $500, a one-year contract inclusive of a photo shoot with composite cards courtesy of Posche Models & Talent and professional studio recording session with MikeSoperMusic. Now available in South Florida! L’Chaim Farm, the only Cholov Yisroel Kosher farm in Florida, is hosting its Farmers Market every Sunday from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. The products are grown and produced on-site at L’Chaim Farm, using the highest standards of organic farming practices.

At the Farmers Market, guests can purchase products, including a variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs, a selection of KM-certified, Cholov Yisroel goat’s milk products (butter, regular milk, chocolate milk, strawberry milk, cold brew, buttermilk and cheese), free range eggs and more.

There is a goat milking demo each Sunday at 12:15 p.m., and guests can also meet and pet the goats. The Farmers Markets will include a variety of new activities each week, including horseback riding, axe throwing, fishing, cornhole, giant Jenga, horseshoes, bocce ball and more. Guests can also take a tour of the greenhouse with Farm Manager Jordan Holder.

L’Chaim Farm Head Chef Yosef Schwartz brings a passion for Kosher foods and flavors to L’Chaim Farm. He has a long history with food delivery services and even founded his own Kosher catering company, Hassid + Hipster.

Each Thursday, L’Chaim Farm also offers a selection of fresh produce and goat’s milk products for its Shabbat Pick Up from 2-6 p.m.
