The panelists will discuss their expertise in psychedelics coaching.

The Psychedelic Series features experts in the psychedelics space including CEOs, doctors, lawyers and celebrities. The panel started at Soho Beach House Miami and expanded to locations throughout the country including New York, Chicago and California, as well as internationally in London. Past panelists include NBA champion Lamar Odom, Stanley Cup champion and Wesana CEO Daniel Carcillo, Psilera Bioscience CEO Chris Witowski, PhD, Silo Wellness CEO Douglas K. Gordon, and others.

Robinson is Founding Partner of Mr. Cannabis Law – a full service law firm focused on the cannabis and psychedelic industries; Co-Founder of Mr. Psychedelic Law – a non-profit focused on psychedelic legal reform; Managing Principal of Iter Investments – a venture capital firm deploying capital across the psychedelic ecosystem; and Co-Founder of Nucleus – a platform with various tools to help guide individuals on their mental health journey.

Abramson is one of the world’s most respected thought leaders and mindset coaches specializing in holistic wellness/plant medicines including psychedelics and microdosing. Vlada’s personal story is a powerful narrative that blends international roots, world travel and unique experiences as well as adversity, addiction and new beginnings. As an awareness coach, her path is deeply rooted in the discovery and exploration of the authentic self and mindful practices. She is the co-founder of Evolve, the Wellness App for personal transformation via evolutionary modalities. Life experiences inspired Vlada to continue her education in addiction recovery and psychedelic integration to cultivate the connection and sense of unity for those who have been suffering from disconnection and isolation. Working in partnership with Mindbloom, a national ketamine telemedicine company out of New York, Vlada has seen over 150 clients in the last year who are embarking on ketamine medicine journeys for mental health purposes, and the success stories are overwhelming. Now she leads Psychedelic Integration Circles and Psychedelic Panel Discussions to raise awareness around the power of intentional use of psychedelic medicine.

Tchaikovsky, Elgar and Barber Masterworks will launch South Florida Symphony Orchestra’s (SFSO) celebratory 25th anniversary 2022/23 season of artistic excellence at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, at New World Center in Miami Beach. Led by Music Director Sebrina María Alfonso, SFSO will perform Tchaikovsky’s beloved Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, with featured soloist Askar Salimdjanov; Elgar’s series of short musical portraits, Enigma, Variations on an Original Theme, Op. 36; and Barber’s orchestral work in one movement, First Essay for Orchestra, Op. 12.

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D major, one of the most beloved violin concertos in history, is a romantic masterpiece. Radiating Russian spirit, Tchaikovsky’s only violin concerto will be performed by Askar Salimdjanov.

Salimdjanov is a multiple winner of the Lyric Chamber Music Competition, which led him to his New York debut recital in May 2019 and in May 2020 at the Lyric Chamber Series at the Kosciusko Foundation in New York. In November 2020, he had his Orchestra Miami debut performing Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. In 2020 Mr. Salimdjanov won the first NSAL Piano and Strings Duo Competition and in 2019, he won Fourth place in the John Oliveira String Competition. Salimdjanov has performed as soloist with South Florida Symphony (during the recent Summer with the Symphony Chamber Music Series), Uzbekistan National Symphony Orchestra, State Conservatory Orchestra of Uzbekistan, Lynn Philharmonia and Orchestra Miami under the batons of Kuvanch Usmanov, Vladimir Neymer, Kamoliddin Urinbaev, Alan Paris, Guillermo Figueroa and Elaine Rinaldi. He performed as a soloist and as a chamber musician in Russia, Ukraine, Italy, Sweden, Singapore, Israel, and the United States.

In 2022, Salimdjanov was selected as one of seven violinists to participate at Geneva International String Academy in Switzerland. Salimdjanov was a concertmaster of Yong Siew Toh Conservatory orchestra and Lynn University orchestra as well as a substitute violinist at Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore where he studied with distinguished violinist Qian Zhou. Mr. Salimdjanov completed his professional performance certificate at Lynn University with renowned violinist Elmar Oliveira. Some of Salimdjanov’s students are prize winners of international competitions for young musicians.

Completed in the first half of 1938, Samuel Barber’s First Essay for Orchestra, Op. 12, is an orchestral work in one movement. Arturo Toscanini with the NBC Symphony Orchestra first performed it on November 5, 1938 in New York in a radio broadcast concert . The essay is now known as the First Essay for Orchestra after Barber wrote his Second Essay for Orchestra in 1942. He also wrote a Third Essay in 1978.

Edward Elgar’s Enigma, Variations on an Original Theme, Op. 36, is one of his best-known works that catapulted him to fame. Premiering in London in 1899, the work consists of 14 short musical portraits of several of the composer’s friends and family, and is considered to be one of the greatest compositions of the 19th century.

Upcoming SFSO concerts include Handel’s Messiah on December 3 and 4; Shostakovich, a Gottsch Ocklawaha World Premiere and Great Opera Arias on January 24, 25 and 28; Brahms, Sibelius and Berlioz on February 15 and 18, an all Dvořák program on March 22, 23 and 25 and season closer Rachmaninoff and Bruckner on April 26.

In honor of this milestone year and its new Miami home at the Michael Tilson Thomas Performance Hall at the New World Center (500 17th Street in Miami Beach), SFSO is celebrating with a special “Symphony Night OUT” at both Fort Lauderdale and Miami performances featuring a pre-concert Champagne reception (6:30 p.m. – Fort Lauderdale; 6 p.m. – Miami) and a 20% ticket discount (code: NIGHTOUT). The November 10 Miami Beach performance will be in partnership with SAVE LGBTQ, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promote, protect and defend equality for people in South Florida who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer.

Miami New Drama Proudly Presents ELIÁN, a World Premiere Play
The story we all know; told in a way we never imagined

Miami New Drama Artistic Director Michel Hausmann and Managing Director Nicholas Richberg are proud to announce the world premiere of ELIÁN, a new play by Cuban playwright Rogelio Martinez (Miami New Drama’s 7 Deadly Sins, Guggenheim Award). ELIÁN is the first world premiere play kicking off Miami New Drama’s 2022-23 season. It will be playing at the Colony Theatre from Oct. 27 through Nov. 20, 2022, with opening night taking place on Saturday, Oct. 29.

In 1999, a young Cuban refugee, Elián Gonzalez, was found on the shores of Florida clinging to life. We know the story ends with a boy in a closet, a gun pointed at him; but few of us know how it got to that moment. With the help of key players, new information has been uncovered that paints a more complete and accurate picture of the story we all thought we knew. This fast-paced, energetic, and emotionally charged play, revisits an event that left its mark on our community and our country.

“ELIÁN is a story that is very personal to our city and resonated deeply with our Cuban-American community” said Michel Hausmann, Artistic Director. “It was an event that divided our community, had both national and international consequences, and helped define the 2000 elections which changed our global history. This work is an exploration of that moment from the perspective of some of the protagonists of this conflict and will reveal new information that the public has never been made aware of. It will be shocking, irreverent, and emotionally charged. We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Rogelio, and I feel a great responsibility to be directing this story that is so close to our community.”

The cast for ELIÁN features Daniel Capote (Miami New Drama’s The Cuban Vote) as Jorge Mas Santos, René Granado (The Real Havana Club’s Amparo) as Juan Miguel González, Mike Iveson (What the Constitution Means to Me, Netflix’s Orange is the New Black) as Roger Stone and Bill Clinton, Carmen Pelaez (Rum and Coke, Miami New Drama’s 7 Deadly Sins, Fake) as Janet Reno and Ninoska Pérez, Andhy Mendez (Miami New Drama’s The Cuban Vote, Celia & Fidel at Arena Stage) as Manny Diaz, Jonathan Nichols-Navarro (Miami New Drama’s The Cuban Vote, Anna in the Tropics at the Coconut Grove Playhouse) as Lazaro González, Ricardo Alarcón, and Joe Lieberman; Cristina Ortega (El Balsero, Miami Film Festival) as Marisleysis González, Caleb Scott (Miami New Drama’s 7 Deadly Sins, CBS’ George and Tammy) as Al Gore and Donato Dalrymple, and Gaby Tortoledo (Murder on the Orient Express at Actors’ Playhouse, Cabaret) as various roles.

The creative team features direction by Michel Hausmann, associate direction by Tatiana Pandiani, assistant direction by Jessica Farr, scenic design by Christopher and Justin Swader, costume design by Christopher Vergara, lighting design by Kirk Bookman, sound design and composition by Salomon Lerner, projection design by Yana Biryukova, wig design by Carol Raskin, puppet design by Paul Louis, production stage manager Naomi Zapata and assistant production stage manager Katelyn Bourke.

ELIÁN runs October 27 – November 20 at the Colony Theatre (1040 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach) with an opening night scheduled for October 29th. Performances are scheduled Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 3 pm. Tickets ($45 – $70) are on sale at miaminewdrama.org or by calling Miami New Drama’s Box Office at (305) 674 -1040.

This Month’s Moon:

Join us under November’s Full Beaver Moon. This month’s moon is also known as the Frost Moon, as beavers build their winter dams by the light of the moon. In order to feel warm, safe and secure, beings must illuminate the things that are in darkness.

This month’s Full Moon will see a lunar eclipse, when the Earth moves between the sun and moon. This happens every six months, which gives us the perfect opportunity to set our intentions for the next six-months, as well as reflect on the previous.

The Beaver’s Moon comes to us in the sign of Taurus. Taurus, an Earth sign, has the ability to see things from a grounded, practical and realistic perspective.

Attendees can determine where they are at with their goals, what they want to gather more of, and what they are ready to let go of to prepare for the new moon cycle. Tune in using sound off noise cancelling headphones, focusing on the experience occurring solely in the body, powered by meaningful beats & sounds. To close the experience guests are invited to connect with one another while sipping on curated full moon elixirs.

Ticket includes:

Sunset Meditation & breath-work
Immersive sound bath
Mindful movement
Take home mantra card

IlluminArts and The Bass Museum present Maria Martinez-Cañas Revelations 10/20/22

IlluminArts and The Bass Museum present Maria Martinez-Cañas Revelations
Thursday, 10/20/2022-, 06:30 pm-
The Bass Museum of Art
2100 Collins Ave.,
Miami Beach, Florida, 33139
Website
Cost: Free

In this musical performance, IlluminArts will explore the layers of meaning beneath, within and beyond the new works Maria Martinez-Cañas created for her exhibition, Absence Revealed at The Bass Museum. The works comprising Absence Revealed came about through two recent personal events in Martinez-Cañas’ life: the loss of her mother and the chance finding of her Miami home’s original wallpaper while renovating. The works highlight physical and emotional processes of excavation: the act of revealing and uncovering, as well as the surfacing of pain, loss and absence. Martinez-Cañas created these works by collaging items from her personal archive of found objects, including materials that the artist’s mother had taken from Cuba during her exile in 1960, actively engaging with the ideas of memory and loss. The musical program to be performed twice during the evening of October 20th for the Miami Beach Culture Crawl will include 10 new improvisations by internationally renowned cellist, Sæunn Thorsteinsdóttir, as well as songs by Tania Léon, Gilda Lyons, Hector Campos Parsi, Joseph Schwantner, Leo Brouwer, Heitor Villa-Lobos and more.

As a precursor to this event, world-renowned cellist Saeunn Thorsteinsdóttir will lead a free, community improvisation workshop on Monday, October 17 at 6:30 PM. This special workshop is open to all and no previous musical experience is necessary to participate. To find out more and register for this one-of-a-kind experience, visit illuminarts.org/events/improv

With a “breathtaking conflation of grace and grit” (Cleveland Classical), violinist Jennifer Frautschi makes her anticipated NWS debut. Many listeners believe Ralph Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending is among the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. Inspired by a poem by George Meredith that describes a bird in flight, the work forms what the composer called a “pastoral romance for orchestra.” As a prolific composer who wrote for Harry Belafonte and Marvin Gaye, Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson finds a rich source of inspiration in the spiritual “Calvary” for his First String Quartet. Low brass claim the spotlight in Kevin Day’s sizzling Ignition.

South Florida’s highly anticipated South Beach Seafood Festival is back for its 10th anniversary with a celebration that is gearing up to be the biggest one yet. The festival features special programming, including a $10,000 chef prize and popular live music guests, that will raise the bar for one of the country’s leading seafood events. Taking place from Wednesday, October 19 through Saturday, October 22, the four-day festival is a curated culinary showcase that couples South Florida’s bounty of seafood with the region’s most notable chefs and restaurants. The South Beach Seafood Festival consists of four separate ticketed events taking place throughout the week. The festival begins on Wednesday, October 19th with “An Evening at Joe’s Stone Crab.” Next up, “Crabs, Slabs & Cabs,” takes place the following evening and offers a formal sit-down, five-course dinner highlighting ‘Surf n’ Turf’ reimagined by some of the Magic City’s leading chefs. The event is hosted by GOYA Foods’ Executive Chef Fernando Desa and includes participation from celebrated restaurateur and Pubbelly Sushi partner José Mendín; Fiola Miami’s Executive Chef Danny Ganem; and Meat Market Executive Chef and Owner Sean Brasel, among others. On Friday evening, the gloves come off as 16 of Miami’s top chefs go head-to-head in eight competitive seafood rounds during the annually sold out “Chef Showdown,” coined the ultimate beach bash on South Beach. To commemorate the festival’s 10-year anniversary, one participating chef with the most points of the night will take home a grand prize of $10,000. The series of nightly events builds up to the main celebration, the “South Beach Seafood Festival,” an all-day affair taking place on Saturday, October 22, showcasing a selection of pop-up-cafés by prominent South Florida restaurants, complimentary open bar stations, and packed with live musical performances, interactive experiences, and much more for guests to enjoy.

August’s Full Sturgeon Moon

About this event
This month’s moon:

Join us under August’s Full Moon named after the Sturgeon fish. It’s a popular time for Sturgeon to be caught in the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain. Though there were once plenty of Sturgeon in the Great Lakes, and many different varieties, they’re much more rare now. However, their legend lives on through this summer moon.

This summer Moon is in the sign of Aquarius and has a history rooted in nature, dating back to Native American legends from years gone by. This moon also signals that it’s a time for appreciation and gratitude for what you have and where you’ve come from.

–Sunset Meditation & breath-work
–Immersive sound bath
–Mindful movement
–Take home mantra card
–Individual essential oil
–Closing elixir

All experiences are outdoors at the 1 Beach Club. Please ensure you dress appropriately. Limited spots are available. The Full Moon experience begins promptly at 7:45pm. Check-in will take place on 24th street main entrance of Beach Club. In an effort to honor the space, entry to the event will not be allowed once the experience has started.

On Tuesday, June 21 at 7 p.m., Nucleus will present its monthly Psychedelic Series at Soho Beach House Miami. Moderated by psychedelics expert Dustin Robinson, Esq. CPA, this month’s panel will focus on the important history of psychedelics in indigenous communities and the role they will play in its future in mental health. Panelists include Tony Jusino, Brad Andres Calderon, and Nina Velencia.

The Psychedelic Series features experts in the psychedelics space including CEOs, doctors, lawyers and celebrities. The panel has expanded to locations throughout the country including New York, Chicago and California with plans this summer in the UK. Past panelists include NBA champion Lamar Odom, Stanley Cup champion and Wesana CEO Daniel Carcillo, Psilera Bioscience CEO Chris Witowski, PhD, Silo Wellness CEO Douglas K. Gordon, and others.

Robinson is Founding Partner of Mr. Cannabis Law – a full service law firm focused on the cannabis and psychedelic industries; Co-Founder of Mr. Psychedelic Law – a non-profit focused on psychedelic legal reform; Managing Principal of Iter Investments – a venture capital firm deploying capital across the psychedelic ecosystem; and Co-Founder of Nucleus – a platform with various tools to help guide individuals on their mental health journey.

Jusino is an independent researcher in the field of social sciences and a medicine facilitator of sacred plant medicines. His journey with plant medicines began over 10 years ago. For the past four years, he has been working with sacred medicines on his own and has opened the Celestial Alliance Native American Church. He specializes in Bufo, Kambo, Changa, Yopo and Psilocybin homegrown mushrooms. During the years he has developed his own style and techniques for hosting and running psychedelic medicine ceremonies, where he combines traditional native American ceremonies accompanied by music, song and vibration to induce higher states of consciousness. Recently, he has dedicated himself increasingly to spiritual research and expanding into detoxing and recovery helping individuals overcome psychological and mental health trauma or just looking for a new spiritual path in their life.

Calderon is a musician, artist, Yagesero and ambassador for Indigenous Communities in Southern Colombia. Calderon was born on the Caribbean coast of Colombia and moved to the United States in 2005. In 2010, he was diagnosed with cancer, which led him to immerse himself deep into health, nutrition, and self-healing modalities. In 2017, he fully cured himself of cancer with the help of traditional indigenous medicines. Calderon’s interest in plant medicine only began to grow, which drew him back to Colombia to learn more about the traditional ways these communities have been using and preserving this knowledge for millenniums. In 2019, he journeyed to Putumayo, the Amazonian region, in Colombia to commune and learn about the culture, medicine, spirituality, and rituals with different tribes throughout the region including Cofanes, Ingas, Kamentsas, and Coreguajes. As an active member of the Inga and Kamentsa communities in the Valley of Sibundoy Colombia, his mission is to be a bridge for the outer world and to bring the rich teachings, culture, and ways of life they offer to those curious to learn. In return, creating expansive prosperity within the communities, providing resources for the culture to thrive and preserve all while honoring and protecting their ancestral wisdom, traditions, territory, and language.

Valencia was called to her path of healing, ceremonial plant medicine, and spiritual empowerment at the age of 17 to save her life from a dangerous spiral of depression, and again at the age of 39 when she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and was healed completely with yage/ayahuasca. After her initial introduction to this sacred plant medicine, she trained intensively with different Taitas (indigenous shamans or “fathers”) from Colombia and around the world, and soon after decided that it is her main life purpose and work to serve humanity in this way. Valencia was also part of the original group that brought indigenous medicine healers from South and Central America to Miami, which from there spread to other cities such as New York, Asheville, New Orleans, and Los Angeles. Now at 58, Nina has continued to learn from this medicine and has been independently serving the yage for 15 years with the support of three respected Taitas to serve medicine as a woman – a rare honor in her country, Colombia – which speaks to her integrity, wisdom, and knowledge of plant medicines and ceremony. Leading ceremonies worldwide, she also works with a variety of other medicines from around the globe. Valencia has been serving Kambo for 10 years and is an IAKP-certified Kambo practitioner bridging the indigenous and traditional practices of Kambo with modern science and traditional eastern healing, working with the meridians and chakras of the body to create safe healing and powerful transformation. Her mission is to continue growing while helping others open their horizons to health, prosperity, and spiritual growth.

The event is private and only open to Soho Beach House members.

The one-and-only Cannabis Business Awards® (CBAs), the cannabis industry’s premier business awards show since 2012, is returning this June 2 from 7-11 p.m. EDT. The venue has been changed to Event Space at 1111 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, located on the 7th floor of the iconic Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron garage, to accommodate more sponsors and attendees. Presented by Clover Leaf and Chloe Villano, the event will bring the biggest pioneers, movers, and shakers in the cannabis industry and drug policy movement together to celebrate how far the industry has come, while also helping energize everyone to tackle what’s next. Villano is working alongside Aloré Event Firm for a top-notch Miami experience.

This year is an extra special event as the cannabis industry has been able to emerge from COVID lockdowns deemed essential, generating more revenue than ever before, while continuing political advancement across the nation and even in the halls of Congress. Understanding how influencers in business, culture, and entertainment all come together to help advance the cause, the Cannabis Business Awards brings it all together for an event that should not be missed.

Founded by long-time cannabis activist and industry leader, Clover Leaf Founder Chloe Villano, the CBAs have honored leaders of the industry from coast to coast, and even around the world. “Our return event in Miami is extremely exciting as so many of us have been isolated for too long,” Villano stated. “The cannabis industry has been growing by leaps and bounds and I’m so happy to award three sports awards for the first time, along with awards for the psychedelics sector. The cannabis community has helped lead the way, but there is so much more to be done to end the failed Drug War and we’re happy to help bring everyone together in Miami. Until we reach full legalization, these businesses will continue to be over-regulated, and the benefits of cannabis and psychedelics will be underutilized. I’m proud to help elevate these amazing companies and individuals that are changing the world for the better.”

Special guests this year include former NBA player Al Harrington, Chicago Bears Super Bowl quarterback Jim McMahon, Super Bowl Champion Marvin Washington, Miss Universe Canada Alyssa Boston, Rapper Tick Trick, and Twin from the Infamous Mobb Deep. With both the NBA and NFL recently reforming their cannabis drug testing policies, it’s time to honor those that have helped pave the way and continue to create more freedom and prosperity for all.

The final chamber music concert of the season has the New World Symphony Fellows’ talent and exuberance on full display. Franz Schubert’s Octet is inspired by Beethoven, and full of artistry and character that play out like a symphony. The fanfare begins with George Walker’s Music for Brass that blends revered chorales with lively dances. Grammy Award-winner and University of Miami professor Lansing McLoskey describes his “Three Bs” of music not as Bach, Beethoven and Brahms, but Beatles, Bauhaus and Black Flag.

The Cuban Vote, A Very Miami Romantic Comedy

WORLD PREMIERE: APRIL 21 – MAY 15, 2022

MIAMI NEW DRAMA PRESENTS A WORLD PREMIER PLAY BY CARMEN PELAEZ, DIRECTED BY LORETTA GRECO.

In Miami politics, anything can happen, and it does.

The heir apparent to a Miami political dynasty, Carolina Clarens, is the seemingly perfect candidate to be the next mayor. The only problem is…nobody likes her. Why? She’s an arrogantly honest candidate whose scorched earth style rattles the city’s political power players. She is tanking in the polls. Enter Alex, the slick D.C. political consultant tasked with smoothing out her edges and getting her the unpredictable Cuban Vote.

Based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, The Cuban Vote draws you into the middle of Carolina and Alex’s quest for the Miami Mayorship…and each other. A romantic political comedy that can only happen in Miami, turns into tremendo arroz con mango and all for the coveted Cuban vote. They say all is fair in love and war, but nothing is fair in love and politics. A world-premiere play by Carmen Pelaez (Rum and Coke, Miami New Drama’s 7 Deadly Sins, Fake), directed by Loretta Greco (New York premieres of The Story, Lackawanna Blues, Two Sisters and a Piano – The Public/NYSF).

To celebrate Earth Month, The Shelborne South Beach has partnered with Clean Miami Beach for a beach cleanup.

This event will help encourage Miami Beach locals to work daily to keep the city’s beaches clear of trash, with the larger goal of saving our world’s oceans and landscape. Clean Miami Beach strives to protect Miami Beach and its marine wildlife. The organization’s mission is to keep the community away from harmful pollutants and to provide a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors and of course, wildlife.

The day will include giveaways such as retail swag from MITA Sustainable Eyewear and healthy bites by Pura Vida, and a raffle with a one night stay at The Shelborne South Beach located in the heart of South Beach’s Art Deco District. Winners of the hotel raffle are invited to enjoy their stay relaxing at the iconic oceanfront pool with indoor cabanas and the private beach club that grants them access to white sandy beaches.

Clean Miami Beach will provide a refill station for reusable water bottles, as plastic water bottles are prohibited and a large part of the littering problem. Sanitary garden gloves, buckets and pickers are all provided, but guests are able to bring their own if preferred. All ages are welcome and community service hours are available for participants. Guests are encouraged to use a ride-share service or bike to the beach cleanup as parking is limited. Additional parking can be found in the parking garage located at 334 23rd Street, Miami Beach.

Only 100 slots are available, so make sure to RSVP on Instagram @cleanmiamibeach. Close-toed shoes and reef-safe sun protection are recommended.

On Tuesday, March 29 at 7 p.m., Dustin Robinson, Esq. CPA, will present his monthly Psychedelic Series at Soho Beach House Miami. Moderated by Robinson, this month’s panel will focus on psychedelics for veterans featuring Jesse Gould, founder and president of the Heroic Hearts Project; and Kimberly Juroviesky, CAPT USAF (retired), WHNP, CNM, president of The Ketamine Taskforce.

Every month, the Psychedelic Series features experts in the psychedelics space including CEOs, doctors, lawyers and celebrities. The panel has expanded to locations throughout the country including New York, Chicago and California. Past panelists include NBA champion Lamar Odom, Stanley Cup champion Daniel Carcillo, Psilera Bioscience CEO Chris Witowski, PhD, Silo Wellness CEO Douglas K.

Gould is founder and president of the Heroic Hearts Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit pioneering psychedelic therapies for military veterans. After being deployed as an army ranger in Afghanistan three times, he founded the Heroic Hearts Project in 2017 to spearhead the research and acceptance of ayahuasca, ibogaine, ketamine, and psilocybin therapy programs for military veterans. Heroic Hearts Project has connected countless veterans to psychedelic treatments and partnered with the world’s leading psychedelic centers. They are researching psychiatric applications with the University of Colorado Boulder, the University of Georgia, University of Texas Austin, and Imperial College of London. Heroic Hearts Project has raised over $350,000 in scholarships from donors including Dr. Bronner’s. Gould’s mission is to help military veterans struggling with mental trauma and spread awareness of the benefits that psychedelic therapies offer as an alternative treatment to pharmaceuticals. He has spoken globally about the benefits of psychedelics on mental health and has been featured in the New York Times, the New Yorker, the Economist, and Forbes. He is recognized as one of the most influential voices in psychedelics today.

Juroviesky is the president of The Ketamine Taskforce, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization made up of patients, doctors, nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners and researchers who aim to ensure access for patients to safe ketamine infusions through the approval of insurance companies. Juroviesky is a retired nurse practitioner and nurse midwife who trained at Columbia University and The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She was injured on active duty while in the U.S. Air Force and developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome which unfortunately forced her to retire from her career early. Juroviesky began getting ketamine infusions in 2015 as part of a research study. She wrote a book to help patients to know what to expect during their infusions called “Ketamine Infusions: A Patient’s Guide.” She also is the author of “Ketamine Journeys: A Journal for Your Ketamine Experiences” which is newly available on Amazon. Juroviesky has found a new passion in being an advocate for the use of Ketamine to treat both mental health and pain diagnoses. She advocates for and talks with both patients and providers.

Its Artistic Director Emeritus, NWS alumna Rebekah Heller, embraces this mission as she returns to share works by today’s visionaries and yesterday’s trailblazers. From Hannah Kendall’s scenes of World War I to Ruth Crawford Seeger’s playful Suite, the pieces explore myriad emotions and techniques. In spirit of women’s month, Miami’s digital marketplace, Vecinos Market has teamed up with local charity, No More Tears and Dobel Maestro Tequila for a campaign featuring their very powerful annual luncheon committee including Cristina Scarano, Cindy Pearlstein, Ania O. Goldberg, Natalie Corvacho, Lauren Barrington, Christina Sirinyan, Jenny Pimentel. This partnership is a multi-tiered experience that will be kicked off with an in-person event, a rather unique happy hour at the Moxy South Beach where a moderated conversation will take place between a No More Tears survivor, Erin Michelle Newberg and Jilian Sanz alongside Somy Ali, the Founder of the life-saving organization where nobody receives a salary. No More Tears rescues and empowers victims of human trafficking, sex trafficking and domestic violence. Over the years, they have successfully saved 30,000 women, men, children and pets.
100% of the proceeds from the Serena Margarita will also be donated directly to No More Tears in addition to any cocktail made with Dobel Maestro Tequila.

Throughout the month of March, Vecinos Market will donate a percentage of sales from a selection of exclusive gift boxes where each committee member curated their own. Additionally, attendees can donate $1 to No More Tears by subscribing to Vecinos here.
