MIAMI, FL — June 10, 2026 — In honor of Juneteenth, the Overtown Business Association (OBA) is proud to present the Overtown Block Party & Heritage Market – Juneteenth Weekend Celebration. Taking place at the Dunns Josephine Hotel, 1028 NW 3rd Avenue, Miami on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, this highly anticipated gathering will center around the theme: “Celebrating the Harlem of the South — Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future;” this community-centered event honors the profound historical significance of the holiday while shining a spotlight on the rich cultural heritage and entrepreneurial spirit of Miami’s historic Black epicenter.

“Juneteenth is a time of reflection, celebration, and community empowerment,” says Trina Brown, Overtown Business Association Executive Director. “Through the Heritage Market and our ongoing 3rd on 3rd initiative, we aren’t just celebrating our history—we are actively investing in our future by supporting the brilliant small businesses that keep Overtown’s legacy alive.”

The community-centered experience will transform the neighborhood into a lively hub of music, fellowship, shopping, and local culture. Attendees will enjoy an incredible soundtrack of Soul, R&B, and Old School Hip-Hop spun by the legendary DJ SelfBorn, alongside an array of food options and local experiences that showcase neighborhood pride.

A major highlight of this year’s celebration is the official launch of the OBA’s highly anticipated Tribute Series. Month 1 kicks off at the block party with a special cultural tribute to Miami’s own legendary soul and R&B icon, Betty Wright.

Central to the festivities is the OBA’s signature 3rd on 3rd initiative. Pioneered to drive sustainable economic growth, the 3rd on 3rd initiative activates local commercial corridors every month, encouraging residents and visitors to intentionally buy from and support Black-owned businesses and local makers. For Juneteenth Weekend, this initiative powers the spectacular Heritage Market, providing a premier platform for neighborhood entrepreneurs, culinary artists, and creators to connect with a wider regional audience.

History Fort Lauderdale presents “Three by the River,” an Artists-in-Residence annual exhibition, from June 4 to June 30. Featured will be acrylics by Constance Ivana, mixed media works by Stephanie McMillan, and portraits by Florencia Clement de Grandprey.

Constance Ivana is a Fort Lauderdale–based mural artist and visual creative passionate about creating bold, vibrant artwork that sparks reflection, conversation, and joy. Her art is inspired by social justice, Black stories, women’s voices, and nature.

Stephanie McMillan is a third-generation Fort Lauderdale resident and artist. Her distinctive style combines affectionate humor with the bright colors of the sunny tropics. A graduate of the
Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, with a focus in animation, she began drawing illustrations and editorial cartoons, for which she won several Florida Press Club awards. This led to 25 years as a widely published freelance cartoonist and illustrator producing award-winning editorial cartoons, syndicated comic strips, comic journalism, and graphic novels. In recent years she has returned to painting, drawing, and mixed media assemblage. She is the author/illustrator of several books including As the World Burns and The Beginning of the American Fall: A Comics Journalist Inside the Occupy Wall Street Movement (Seven Stories Press). Her original sketches, illustrations, comics, and papers are archived at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum at Ohio State University.

Born and raised in southern Spain, Florencia Clement de Grandprey is a self-taught mixed media figurative artist whose mission is to empower and inspire through meaningful and uplifting artwork. Her artistic journey began in 2014 when she left her full-time job in interior design to follow her true passion: painting. Clement de Grandprey has developed a style without rules, granting her the freedom to express herself fully. She blends her love for the classic masters with contemporary design, resulting in unique mixed media paintings. Her award-winning work celebrates strong, confident, soul-aligned men and women. She aims to highlight our unique, perfectly imperfect nature, bringing out our strengths and beauty as a reminder of who we truly are. She ensures that a variety of ethnicities are represented, making everyone feel seen and honored in her art.
History Fort Lauderdale’s Artists-in-Residence Annual Show is sponsored by the following funds at the Community Foundation of Broward: Jan and Ed Crocker Unrestricted Fund, Leo M. and Alice J. Rutten Fund and The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation Broward Community Fund. All Your Friends is at Lincoln’s Beard Brewing Co. on 20 June 2026, bringing the sweat, synths, and nostalgia of the early 2010’s house party.

This is your basement-floor flashback to tight jeans, smudged eyeliner, and nights that felt like a house show turned afterparty. No frills, just bodies in motion.

Whether you never left the Lower East Side or just miss the chaos of that era, All Your Friends is a night dedicated to bad decisions, blown speakers, and the soundtrack of your favorite forgotten memories.
