We have two fantastic entertainment shows Friday – Saturday. First dinner seating is at 7:30 pm and our second seating is at 10:30 pm. Doors open at 7:00 pm for cocktails and general admission. Dinner reservation guests should arrive promptly and with all guests in attendance prior to being seated. We have a 15 minute maximum hold time for all table reservations. As part of the Living Together Performance Series, The Maggic Banquet, a participatory food-performance by the internationally acclaimed Miami and Barcelona-based artist Antoni Miralda, will celebrate our city’s diverse cultural heritage by tracing the culinary history of Maggi, the ubiquitous and universal seasoning brand. Presenting dishes from the kitchens of Miami’s various ethnic groups—all made with Maggi—in an altar-like buffet, Miralda explores the commodification and globalization of food and tradition. Accompanied by music, a special beverage, and a zine published with recipes in English, Spanish, and Creole, The Maggic Banquet will turn the terrace of EXILE Books into a food-for-thought artwork.
Born in Terrassa in the province of Barcelona, Spain, Antoni Miralda has been using food as his art medium since the late 1960s. He often creates public and ritual events centered in popular culture and traditions, especially culinary ones. The Honeymoon Project (1986–92), was an international series of ceremonial and participatory actions at multiple sites that imagined the wedding of New York’s Statue of Liberty with the Columbus Monument in Barcelona, two diametrically opposite icons of freedom and conquest. Since 1971 Miralda has lived and worked in the U.S., and since 1993 has spent much of his time in New York and Miami, where he started FoodCultura, a project that includes archives and collections, and that produces exhibitions and events around the world which explore the subjects of food diversity and its relation to culture. He was the subject of major retrospectives at the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid in 2010 and the MACBA in Barcelona in 2016.

– Celebrating its valued relationship with the James Beard Foundation, Kuro at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., will host its third annual Friends of James Beard Benefit dinner on Friday, March 2, 2018. This event welcomes national culinary talent and comes on the heels of Kuro’s recent sold-out dinner at the distinguished James Beard House in New York City. The collaboration dinner kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and will feature a five-course dinner prepared by Seminole Hard Rock and Kuro’s Creative Culinary Director Chef Alex Q. Becker and James Beard Award winner Chef Stephanie Izard of Chicago’s Girl & the Goat; Little Goat; and Duck Duck Goat. Emceeing the evening is guest of honor, multiple James Beard Award winner, cookbook author and Emmy Award-winning host of Food Network’s “Chopped” and “Chopped Junior,” Ted Allen. Following the dinner, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with Chefs Becker and Izard on the evening’s culinary offerings, moderated by Allen.

Izard was the 2013 James Beard Award winner for “Best Chef: Great Lakes.” She is the executive chef/partner of three critically acclaimed restaurants in Chicago. Most recently, Izard competed in the Food Network’s “Iron Chef Gauntlet,” where she defeated Chefs Bobby Flay, Michael Symon and Masaharu Morimoto for the title of Iron Chef.

Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the James Beard Foundation’s National Scholars program. Launched in 2016, the program provides high-impact scholarships of $20,000 to culinary-focused candidates of exceptional talent. Candidates are selected based on academic merit, as well as personal and professional references. Ten candidates are selected each year from across the country.

The Rotary Club of Key Biscayne Foundation recently completed its XIII Annual Wine and Food fund raiser on Friday, January 26th. The event sold out quickly and turned into another resounding success with the help and support from the Rotary Club of Key Biscayne, The Nobis Foundation, The ARC of South Florida, our long standing partner Manos del Sur and community members at large.

Thirteen participating restaurants from our community prepared food delicacies to match the wines. Twenty four wineries competed for the recognition of Best in Show White and Red.

According to five independent judges, the winning white wine was B de Chanzy, a Rose from Provence, France, a delightful blend of Grenache and Syrah.

The winning red wine was a Merlot from Deerfield Ranch in Sonoma Valley, CA.

UMI at Delano South Beach invites you to the first UMI Uncorked, an exclusive cocktail omakase dinner series, launching on Saturday, January 27th, with a five-course omakase dinner paired with hand crafted cocktails by NYC master mixologist, Marshall Altier.

The menu will feature unique sushi creations and Asian inspired delicacies dishes including Tuna Carpaccio made with grated ginger and yuzu soy, Tsukiji Fish Market Nigiri masde with fresh wasabi and pickled ginger and Miso Black Cod for $140 per person plus tax and gratuity.

The 62-minute documentary film, directed by Francesca Molteni and co-written by Molteni and Cristina Didero, released in 2017, focuses on nineteen protagonists who defined this revolutionary Italian design movement.

Here ye! Here ye! All ye Kings and Queens, Knights and Nobles – and the rest of you wenches and barbarians! You are hereby notified by royal proclamation that your attendance is requested at the 26th annual Florida Renaissance Festival taking place from February 10th through March 25th, in the two-thousandth and eighteenth year A.D in the vast open land of Deerfield Beach’s Quiet Waters Park.

The iconic Florida Renaissance Festival will ring in its 26th season, and, for the third year in a row, will offer an extraordinary SEVEN theme-filled weekends as well as a fantastical journey back in time with a variety of fan favorite acts and performances. Upon stepping inside the gates of our village, attendees will be transported back to 16th-century Europe where they will find jesters, jugglers and jousting knights along with music, costumed characters, human powered games, artisan craft shops and enough food & drink for a royal family feast! It’s a full day of fun and entertainment where the entire family can experience the magic of the Renaissance era through an immersive interactive, real audience-participation scenario.

The Florida Renaissance Festival has grown into one of the nation’s most beloved events dedicated to recreating the historical era of the Renaissance, each year adding more entertainment and themed weekends while welcoming a crowd that has swelled over the years to nearly 100,000 annual attendees, and with more than two million people having participated over the course of the Festival’s 26 years.

* Time Travelers’/Steampunk Weekend – February 17th – 19th
If you like donning a top hat, vest, breeches, and monocle, then board your favorite 18th-century submarine or fantasy-like hot air balloon and zoom for this weekend dedicated to adventurers across the centuries. * Vikings and Barbarians – February 24th and 25th

Only the strongest and most courageous warriors will brave through this weekend. Norwegian brothers and sisters emerge from the mist on an icy wind, battleaxes in hand, donned in leather and fur during this chilling weekend.

* Bodacious Bodices & Wenches – March 3rd and 4th

Behind every good man is a wench in the trench. Wenches Weekend celebrates the women of the Renaissance with hourglass curves and firey attitudes who can go toe-to-toe with their male counterparts.

* International Weekend – March 10th and 11th
Yet another newly themed weekend! International Weekend celebrates all the exotic cultures that influenced the Renaissance in Europe through exploration and trade. From the Ottoman Empire to the Arabian peninsula, from Africa to the Orient, Polynesia and the New World, this weekend weaves in the impact that other exotic cultures left on this magnificent period.

* Kilts & Colleens – March 17th & 18th

Miami’s premier Design and Architecture Senior High marks the 10th anniversary of its annual Taste of Design in a new location with the return of an all-star line-up of local chefs.

This year’s festivities will be held in Paradise Plaza, the Design District’s new cutting edge take on art, food and fashion on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 7PM to 10PM. An extension of the popular pedestrian Paseo Ponti, the sculpture-filled plaza includes architecture by Daly Genik, Freehand Buck and MOS. In keeping with past events, the 2018 Taste menu will feature some of Miami’s hottest chefs, including James Beard finalist Brad Kilgore. A special item will also be offered during the annual silent auction: a rare, signed guitar by rock legend Tom Petty.

To celebrate ten years, the event will highlight the achievements of DASH’s remarkable alums as well as future grads.

Ranked by U.S. News & World Report among the top high schools in Florida and the U.S. for the last decade, DASH offers a design-driven curriculum taught by industry professionals. Its location in the heart of the Design District provides students with a unique opportunity to see design in action. The annual Taste of Design serves as an important fundraiser to support critical programs, including Portfolio Day. Donations have also helped send dozens of students to important college prep programs around the country, including Parsons and the School for Visual Arts in New York.

Moving to Paradise Plaza puts this year’s Taste at the center of the district’s new cultural hub, providing an opportunity for an art-filled evening. Along the paseo connected to the plaza are sculptures and installations by John Baldessari, The Buckminster Fuller Institute, Konstantin Grcic, Zaha Hadid and Marc Newson. The Institute for Contemporary Art and de la Cruz art collection sit just around the corner.

The 2018 Taste menu features food from two of Kilgore’s new restaurants, Ember and Kaido. Kilgore has twice been nominated as James Beard Rising Star Chef and earned a best new

restaurant nod. Acclaimed chef Dewey LoSasso, who helped turn Miami into a food destination, will also provide dishes. LoSasso, who served as Donatella Versace’s personal chef, has helmed the kitchens at some of Miami’s leading restaurants including The Forge Restaurant/Wine Bar, Schnebly Winery and Miami Brewing Company, LaTour, and The Private Foundlings Club.

Along with the signed guitar, this year’s silent auction will include original artwork, jewelry, dining, spa treatments, home and garden items, skin care goodies, and tickets to major entertainment events.

PLEASE NOTE:

There are two shows Friday and Saturday. Guests in first dinner seating have the table for only the first show. LATE NIGHT

Guests can fire up their appetites at Slow Food Miami’s “Snail Social” at CHARCOAL Garden Bar + Grill on Tuesday, December 12 from 6PM-8PM. All of the proceeds from the event will go towards the Farmers’ Aid Fund, to help support farmers in rebuilding post-Hurricane Irma. Tickets are available at http://bit.ly/SlowFoodCHARCOAL.

CHARCOAL Garden Bar + Grill is the first full-service restaurant at The Wynwood Yard and the only one in Miami to be completely built from modified shipping containers. CHARCOAL builds its menu around a pair of Josper grills, state-of-the-art Spanish enclosed grills that reach upwards of 800° Fahrenheit, and only the best, locally sourced, ‘off-the-industrial-grid’ ingredients from farms around Florida including Little River Cooperative, Harpke Family Farm and Fort McCoy Ranch, in addition to responsible artisans from around the country. CHARCOAL’s carefully curated wine list is culled from all-estate grown producers, where they grow the grapes and vinify the wines at the same location.

From 6PM-8PM, attendees can enjoy a welcome cocktail punch with garden herbs, beer or wine, and passed Prosecco. PLEASE NOTE:

There are two shows Friday and Saturday. Guests in first dinner seating have the table for only the first show. LATE NIGHT

The RC Cola Plant and surrounding Wynwood neighborhood will become the “epicenter of the graffiti world” during Basel House Mural Festival. Over the course of four days, there will be 40+ mural projects and 60+ top street artists from across the globe painting large murals across six city blocks in Wynwood Art District, including a digital arts and VR playground that will bring art to life. The FREE block party will offer live painting, unique art installations, live music, late-night DJs, artists, a vendor market, and food trucks. Danny Serfer, the chef/restaurateur behind some of Miami’s most beloved restaurants has been eager to bring the queen of sweets, renowned Pastry Chef Hedy Goldsmith, back to Miami. Her long-awaited return will bring her to Serfer’s North Miami gem, Mignonette Uptown, for an exclusive, one-night-only dining experience. Goldsmith, a 2012 and 2013 James Beard Award Finalist for “Outstanding Pastry Chef” is recognized as one of the most talented artisans in her field.

On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, the two chefs will hit the kitchen to create a multi-course menu of savory dishes layering flavors sure to please any palate. Saturday, October 21 will host the 5th Annual South Beach Seafood Festival featuring pop up café’s from the likes of Joe’s Stone Crab, Naked Taco, Cibo, Red, the Steakhouse, Dragonfly, CJ’s Crab Shack, Lobster Bar Sea Grille, A Fish Called Avalon, La Moderna, Poseidon, Nikki Beach, Toro Toro, Truluck’s, Rusty Pelican, Papa’s Raw Bar, Naked Crab, Whole Foods and Meat Market featuring Miami Smokers. Together, 18 restaurants will be serving you right on the sand – it’s four blocks of fun to be exact! Restaurants will showcase an eating experience unlike any other as you stay refreshed with a glass of delicious Kendall Jackson Chardonnay or ice cold Jack & Coke! Guests will enter into this year’s upgraded experience @SobeSeafoodFest ready for a good time.

There are two types of Festival Tickets and both General Admission and VIP include an all-day open bar available at any of the 30+ added bar locations. General admission starts at only $45; this low price gives guests the opportunity to pick and choose which delicious restaurants to try – all of which are bringing their premium menu items at affordable prices between $5 – $10. This is not a tasting festival; this is an eating festival. Enjoy Stone Crabs, Lobster Waffle Cones, Steak & Lobster Skewers, Shrimp Tacos, Oysters, Shrimp Cocktail, Gyros, Crab Cakes, Grouper in a Bag, Lobster Mac ‘N Cheese and more. But please, don’t go home hungry!

Enjoy the all new Jack Daniel’s BEACH CLUB featuring local DJs playing today’s hottest beats all day long as you lay out, courtesy of Boucher Brothers Management. Or put your toes in the sand with some KJ Avant corn hole boards and other life-size games at the all new beer garden. The Main Stage will be jamming all day long with live music from South Florida’s best bands, so you can dance the day away. If you’d like to learn a little something while you’re out there, step into the WHOLE FOODS DEMO ZONE, where the featured chefs and mixologists will take you to another level and make you the ultimate master seafood pairings chef.

After an unprecedented 2016 season, Seaspice Brasserie and Lounge continues revolutionizing Miami’s Live Music scene, opening this season with two time Latin Grammy nominated singer songwriter Diana Fuentes.
Diana Fuentes, the second Cuban singer songwriter signed on by Sony Music after Celia Cruz, is a leader within the flourishing generation of performers and musicians from Cuba. Her second album, Planeta Planetario, was a joint artistic collaboration with renowned Puerto Rican musician and producer, Eduardo Cabra (Visitante), member of the band Calle 13.

She started her musical career in 2001 after she joined the Afro Cuban fusion band Sintesis, who was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2002 for the album Habana Flor de Piel and she went on to collaborate with musicians likeDescemer Bueno (singer-songwriter of “Bailando”) Carlos Varela (singer-songwriter of theme song “Una Palabra” of the movie “Men on Fire” starring Denzel Washington), Tommy Torres (singer ft “La Fortuna”), Pablo Milanes andJoan Manuel Serrat ( Cuba Canta a Serrat ), to name a few.
Her latest single release, “La Vida Me Cambio” from her new Album, “Todo Esta Pasando” was a special collaboration with Gente De Zona; where both artists joined forces to create a summer hit single produced by Grammy award winner Motiff and filmed in Cuba by the famous director Alejandro Perez of “Bailando” and “La Gozadera”. The single is an explosion of energy and happiness with colorful choreography which will make you get up and dance.
