The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) continues to celebrate the 16th anniversary of its acclaimed Miami Spice Restaurant Program with a special one-night-only dinner in partnership with David Grutman and Executive Chef Ben Goldman of Komodo. Since opening, the Brickell hot spot has been a favorite of celebrities and locals alike who come to indulge in both the elevated scenery and exclusive dining at the lively restaurant and lounge.

On Thursday, July 13, 2017, Chef Goldman will provide enthusiastic diners with the opportunity to preview Komodo’s Miami Spice menu featuring inventive Pan-Asian cuisine before the program officially kicks off on August 1, 2017.

For the sixth year in a row — every Wednesday in July — Executive Chef Adonay Tafur and Chef Joshua Gripper will host a backyard throw down at The Dutch in the W South Beach Hotel & Residences. Chefs will craft a mouth-watering BBQ feast served up family-style, along with homemade pies and treats by Pastry Chefs Jaclyn Marshal and Richard Vaughn.

The weekly event will take place from 6:30PM to 10PM in The Dutch’s very own backyard, the Grove. Kicking-off July 5th, guests can enjoy a delicious array of themed BBQ’s for only $40 per person, including tax and gratuity; excluding beverages.

This year is going to be extra special, as New Orleans takes over The Dutch Miami with one of Food & Wine’s “Best New Chefs in America” 2017, Chef Nina Compton of Compére Lapin will close out the series

No cookout would be complete without a special selection of ice-cold drinks — diners can cool down with craft bourbon cocktails as well as small batch brews from local brewery partners.

Wynwood will see the streets come alive for the fourth annual Wynwood Life! It is held in Miami’s Art and Cultural District and is a true celebration of all things we love about South Florida – Food, Art, Music and Fashion! WynwoodMap.com and The RAW Project will curate the Live Art Stage featuring a wide variety of street artists from around the World. The festival encourages students and emerging artists to take part in the “Emerging Artist Competition”. Wynwood Life is proud to have the Miami Art & Design Education Institute (M.A.D.E.) as the presenting sponsor, because M.A.D.E is known for elevating people’s art and design career to the next level by way of their industry-driven approach to education, through coaching, mentoring, and networking in the heart of Miami’s Art District. The Spot Barbershop will have a pop up for the men, and stylists will showcase multiple fashion shows by local boutiques, fashion bloggers including iShine365, Dyme Lyfe, graciouslylovedllc, Koko and Palenki, to name a few.

The Wynwood Culinary Showcase will feature top restaurants and chefs from the area providing teachable moments such as Chef Cesar Zapata from Phuc yea, who will teach us how to cook a whole fish. This year, the stage will also invite South Florida chefs outside of Wynwood who are taking the culinary scene to a higher level. Scheduled to make demos are Max Santiago, Bunnie Cakes, Crave Clean, Copper 29, and more. The Bitter Truth will have a pop up where they’ll carve the ice for each cocktail with a chainsaw, and they will also compete against Employees Only to come up with the “Best Cocktail” at Wynwood Life.

South Florida foodies can unite to help fight childhood hunger on Friday, May 12, 2017 when South Florida’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry returns to Soho Studios in Wynwood. The annual tasting event will feature the area’s top chefs, sommeliers and mixologists united for a cause: making sure all children in this country get the healthy food they need, every day. Proceeds from the event benefit No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America. The 2017 event signals its second year in Wynwood, inarguably one of the country’s hottest neighborhoods.

The 29th annual tasting event will take place from 7PM to 10PM, followed by an exclusive after party for VIP ticket holders and Chefs at Wynwood’s own R House from 10PM to midnight.

Led by new Chef Chairman Timon Balloo, South Florida’s food and beverage tastemakers will provide guests with savory samplings, craft cocktails and delectable desserts. The event will be emceed by CBS4’s very own Lisa Petrillo and Y-100 Miami’s on air personality Nick Pena. The benefit will also feature a silent auction with exclusive packages and a Citi lounge area for guests to relax and savor specialty cocktails. New to this year’s festivities will be the first ever Taste of the Nation Speakeasy featuring six of the hottest mixologists in South Florida paired with a select spirit, serving a specialty cocktail of their creation.

The party will continue just down the street at R House where Chef/Owner Rocco Carulli will team up with additional restaurants to treat guests to tasty bites and pours late into the night. Additional news about the after party will be announced at a later date.

At the heart of all Cochon555 barbecue events lies a culinary competition to promote local family farming and global grilling traditions. The chefs are each given one whole, heritage-breed pig of 200 pounds and one week to prepare the whole animal. Each chef must present a “Judge’s Plate” of six dishes to a panel of 20 notable judges. The panel scores each plate based on utilization; global influences; cooking techniques; and overall flavor in order to select a winner, who will then be crowned the “BBQ Prince/Princess” of Miami.

South Beach gets a piece of Mykonos on Sunday, March 12 at Villa Azur, as the Mediterranean restaurant opens its doors for an exclusive brunch and dinner experience by Mykonos’ 2017 James Beard Award featured chefs Chris Athanasiadis (owner and chef at “Nice N Easy Restaurant) and Panagiotis Diamantis (Executive Chef at Rodors Palace Hotel). Transforming the venue to reflect the idyllic beauty found in the Greek island, guests at the event will be taken on an unforgettable gastronomic journey where they will experience a total of 6 Greek dishes conceptualized by Chef Chris and Chef Panagiotis, all of which will be later incorporated into Villa Azur’s menu.

Donuts! is back in Wynwood, Thursday March 30th, 2017 at MAPS Backlot (342 NW 24th St., Miami, FL 33127) bringing the best donut shops in town together for a night of fun and whimsy celebrating everyone’s favorite sugary confection.

The highly-anticipated event will bring the best and most buzzed about donut shops around South Florida together for a night celebrating their traditional and creative takes on America’s favorite sugary confection and competing for their chance to win the Golden Donut Award. Last years sold-out event drew a crowd of over 650, sampling over 14,000 original donuts from Miami’s best.

To compliment all that sugary goodness there will be savory bites from local food trucks available for purchase, plus additional non-alcoholic beverages including water from VOSS.

Tickets for Donuts! are priced at two points, General Admission ($35) and VIP ($65). GA tickets receive unlimited donut samples and two complimentary beer tickets from Concrete Beach Brewery. ArtServe presents Open Mic Tuesdays hosted by the inimitable Michelle Rose Domb! We welcome talent from all walks of life: actors, singers, musicians, dancers, spoken word poets, comedians and more. There’s a mic, a barstool, a spotlight… all we need is you!

Solo talent is designated up to 8 minutes. Group talent is designated up to 10 minutes. Respect the time given/share your time by sticking around after your performance= respecting your fellow talent. We all love playing to a full house!

Two of Miami’s icons team up to take you on a culinary world-tour on New Year’s Eve. Pitbull and award-winning chef, Michelle Bernstein, present a Pitbull’s VIP Food & Wine Party presented by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – a culinary affair featuring dishes from around the world along with paired wine, craft beer and signature cocktails made by award-winning Miami Cantinero/Bartender, Julio Cabrera.
