Miami Beach, Florida, 33140

Nucleus, a venture studio for psychedelics wholly owned by Iter Investments, will present its monthly Psychedelic Series at Soho Beach House Miami on Thursday, February 9 at 7 p.m. Moderated by psychedelics expert Dustin Robinson, Esq. CPA, panelists include Stanley Cup champion and Wesana CEO Daniel Carcillo and Managing Partner at Ambria Capital and Phyto Partners Cody Shandraw. The topic of the panel is, “Real Estate for Psychedelics – the Healing REIT.”

Carcillo and Shandraw are founders of Healing REIT, alongside CEO Ty Zakovich. Healing REIT invests in real estate designed for innovative medicine. The current healthcare infrastructure does not support the already, and soon-to-be approved, FDA-novel therapies like ketamine, MDMA and psilocybin-assisted therapy. As a real estate investment trust that connects investors to clinics looking to adopt psychedelic therapies and other novel treatment options, Healing REIT is creating a win-win situation for those looking to invest in this budding industry and clinicians looking to provide the best treatment possible to their patients.

Launched in June 2021 by Robinson and visionary leader Sam Baum, the Psychedelic Series has seen great success, hosting over 25 panels with over 75 notable speakers and over 1,500 people in attendance. The Psychedelic Series features experts in the psychedelics space including CEOs, doctors, lawyers and celebrities. The panel started at Soho Beach House Miami and expanded to locations throughout the country including New York, Chicago and California, as well as internationally in London and Amsterdam. Past panelists include MAPS Founder Rick Doblin, NBA champion Lamar Odom, Psilera Bioscience CEO Chris Witowski, PhD, Silo Wellness CEO Douglas K. Gordon, and others.

Robinson is Founding Partner of Mr. Cannabis Law – a full service law firm focused on the cannabis and psychedelic industries; Co-Founder of Mr. Psychedelic Law – a non-profit focused on psychedelic legal reform; Managing Principal of Iter Investments – a venture capital firm deploying capital across the psychedelic ecosystem; and Co-Founder of Nucleus – a platform with various tools to help guide individuals on their mental health journey.

Carcillo founded Wesana Health after his own personal experience with psychedelics in healing brain injuries he obtained as a hockey player. He’s a two-time Stanley Cup winner with the Chicago Blackhawks, however Carcillo was forced into early retirement when he was just 30 after suffering from post-concussion syndrome. His recovery, due in large part to psychedelics, led him to found Wesana Health. Wesana Health is an emerging life sciences company championing the development and delivery of therapies, including psychedelics, to treat traumatic brain injury (TBI) and related conditions. Through extensive clinical research and academic partnerships, the company is developing evidence-based formulations and protocols that empower patients to overcome neurological, psychological and mental health ailments caused by trauma.

Shandraw has been a serial entrepreneur from an early age, striving to be a proven producer of profit in all of his ventures. Shandraw serves as a Managing Partner at Ambria Capital and Phyto Partners. He manages market assessment projects and due diligence, as well as client relationships. He oversees one of the most active due diligence programs in the psychedelics industry, focused on early-stage companies and non-traditional venture opportunities. Shandraw is passionate about advocating for psychedelic-assisted therapies and advancing their place in the mental healthcare landscape. To date, he and his team have backed more than 50 companies and supported many in growth to scale. He was recently recognized and honored as the 2021 Investor of the Year at the first annual Microdose Awards.

The event is private and only open to Soho House members.

South Florida Symphony Orchestra Presents Brahms, Sibelius & Berlioz 2/18/23

Tennessee Williams Theatre
5901 College Rd,
Key West, Florida, 33040

Cost: Tickets start at $25

South Florida Symphony Orchestra will present a passionate evening of masterworks from Brahms, Sibelius and Berlioz on Saturday, February 18, at 7:30 p.m., at the Tennessee Williams Theatre at The College of the Florida Keys. Led by Music Director Sebrina María Alfonso, SFSO’s 25th anniversary season brings Brahms’ final symphonic work, Double Concerto for Violin and Cello in A minor, Op. 102, featuring duo Geneva Lewis on violin and Gabriel Martins on cello, along with Finnish composer Sibelius’ Symphony No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 82 and the spirited overture to Berlioz’s Béatrice et Bénédict, to new and returning classical music enthusiasts.

Johannes Brahms’ Double Concerto for Violin and Cello in A minor, Op. 102, is the remarkable realization of a composer’s dream — to create a new “super” instrument that transcends customary limits. This composition united the violin and cello for the first time. The piece was composed as a conciliatory effort to his closest musical friend and collaborator Joseph Joachim, whom he had a falling out with over Joachim’s divorce. The first private performance of this piece was on September 21, 1887 at the Baden-Baden casino. The public premiere followed on October 18, and the work was performed several more times during that concert season.

Jean Sibelius was commissioned to write Symphony No. 5 by the Finnish government in honor of his 50th birthday on December 8, 1915, which had been declared a national holiday. The original version of the work was premiered by the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Sibelius that day. The second version, only part of which survives, was first performed by the Orchestra of Turun Soitannollinen Seura in Turku exactly one year later. The final version, which is the one most commonly performed today, was premiered again by the Helsinki Philharmonic, conducted by Sibelius, on November 24, 1919. The first version of the new symphony kept much of his familiar orchestral style (consonant sonorities, woodwind lines in parallel thirds, rich melodic development, etc.) but also shows some similarities with the more modernist Fourth Symphony, featuring a few bitonal passages. The 1919 version seems more straightforward, monumental and classical, and also cleared away some digressions and ornaments. Sibelius commented on his revision: “I wished to give my symphony another – more human – form. More down-to-earth, more vivid.”

Though his unique and innovative music was championed in Germany, France never fully recognized Hector Berlioz in his own lifetime. Béatrice et Bénédict, his final completed work, would be premiered not in Paris, but in Baden. Composed between 1860 and 1862, this comic opera dates from a difficult period in the composer’s life, but despite his disappointments and increasing ill-health, the work is one of his lightest, most delightful creations. The opera’s plot is a simplified version of “Much Ado about Nothing” by Shakespeare, one of Berlioz’ chief sources of inspiration. Beatrice and Benedict cannot stand each other, so on a lark their friends and families decide to get them together through a series of deceptions (the basic outline of the romantic comedy has changed little in 400 years).

SFSO’s 25th anniversary season concludes in Key West with an all Dvořák program on March 25.

Tickets for the Masterworks III program at the Tennessee Williams Theatre at The College of the Florida Keys start at $25 and may be purchased by visiting southfloridasymphony.org/masterworks-iii-2022-2023 or by calling (954) 522-8445.

South Florida Symphony Orchestra Presents Brahms, Sibelius & Berlioz 2/15/23

South Florida Symphony Orchestra will present a passionate evening of masterworks from Brahms, Sibelius and Berlioz on Wednesday, February 15, at 7:30 p.m., at The Parker in Fort Lauderdale.

Upcoming SFSO 25th anniversary season concerts include an all Dvořák program on March 22, and season closer Rachmaninoff and Bruckner on April 26.

Tickets for the Masterworks III program start at $15 for The Parker and may be purchased by visiting southfloridasymphony.org/masterworks-iii-2022-2023 or by calling (954) 522-8445.

Is this going to be the year your company hires your BEST HIRES, is known for having a GREAT CULTURE, becomes a MAGNET FOR TOP TALENT and spends the LEAST AMOUNT OF TIME & MONEY to do it?

Some of the Rare Methods & Strategies you will learn:
Alana has recruited 1000’s, coached 100’s just like you and built some of the world’s winning talent processes. She will set you apart from the 98% of companies who hire with unoptimized methods and look back on the year and wish they had done it differently.

Don’t Become a Part of The Statistics: This year, 98% of companies, of all sizes, in all markets and locations, will unknowingly hire with the same unmodernized tactics, methods and costly staffing support a wonder why they’re not getting the optimized results they need.

SAVE YOUR SPOT HERE FOR FREE, then, share this with 3 leaders who you believe could use this knowledge too (when your network wins, it comes back to you 10x!)

You are the leader who can win this year, you just have to believe it, step up and have the skills and knowledge to win. Let’s make 2023 the year your pipeline was full of top candidates, your people talked about what a great culture they work in and candidate walks out of their interview in awe of what they just experienced.

The Museum of Graffiti is excited to announce a new exhibit curated by the German art duo known as Layer Cake (Patrick Hartl and Christian “C100” Hundertmark). In the group exhibition, The Versus Project 3, all the canvases on display began in their studio until they were then sent unfinished to other artists scattered around the world. The other artists completed the unfinished paintings without discussing the details of the work with Hartl and Hundertmark, thus breaking one of the most important rules of graffiti: Never paint over the work of other writers.

Shops at Merrick Park, known for its pristine outdoor shopping with lush green spaces and a fine collection of retailers in the heart of Coral Gables, will be the perfect backdrop for the world- famous Los Trompos art exhibition created by Mexican designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena. This interactive vibrant outdoor display will make its South Florida debut from January 31 through February 28.

“Los Trompos,” which means “spinning tops” in Spanish, is a traveling exhibit that has been displayed in cities around the world, including Mexico City, Paris, and New York. The lively installation will feature eight larger-than-life, three-dimensional colorful spinning tops in a variety of colors and shapes that invite visitors to play and engage with the art. The art draws its inspiration from a toy that has been popular with children around the world since the dawn of time.
The colorful surfaces of each top are created, in part, by fabric woven in a traditional Mexican style. The fabric is stretched over the modules to seat several people at once. Functioning as both artwork and a rotating platform, each sculpture acts as a gathering place for relaxation, social interaction and entertainment.

This large-scale, artistic installation engages visitors in a way that is both meaningful and playful. By working together to create momentum, visitors can spin the tops on their bases.

Los Trompos was first commissioned by High Museum of Arts, Atlanta. Owners of Los Trompos are DTE Energy Beacon Park Foundation and The Downtown Detroit Partnership. The tour producer is Creos.

Los Trompos at Shops at Merrick Park is free to attend (no ticket required). Visitors are encouraged to take the tops for a spin, sit back and relax, or pose for the perfect photo opportunity. The exhibit is suitable for all ages.

Any way you spin it… you won’t want to miss this! For more information visit www.shopsatmerrickpark.com/en/events/los-trompos.html

Orchestra Miami presents “Beethoven on the Beach” its annual popular free outdoor concert series. The 2023 version is entitled “Unfinished”, and the program centers around two works by famous composers which were left unfinished.
The first piece is the little-known 10th Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, which was left unfinished at his death in 1827. At the time of his death, Beethoven left several sketches of two of the movements. Orchestra Miami will perform what exists of this symphony for the first time in South Florida, in a realization by musicologist Barry Cooper. This little-known piece by one of the world’s most famous composers will be paired with a very well-known unfinished work, Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony N. 8 in D Minor, D. 759. Also on the program is the Overture and Entr’Actes to Bizet’s famous opera Carmen, and the overture to an unfinished comic opera by Camille Saint-Säens. The 42 musicians of Orchestra will be led by Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi.
There are three opportunities to hear this fabulous concert! Friday, Feb. 24, 2023 at 8 PM at the Miami Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach 33141; Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023 at 4 PM at Gateway Park, 151 Sunny Isles Boulevard, Sunny Isles Beach, 33160; and Friday, March 3, 2023, at 8 PM at Pinecrest Gardens, 11000 SW 57 Avenue, Pinecrest, 33156. As always, this concert will be free and open to the public. Reservations are required for entry to the concerts in Miami Beach and Pinecrest.
