Moon River Cabaret celebrates April 20th, a date synonymous with 420 and everything Marijuana, using it as the backdrop for another monthly spectacular spectacle produced at Wynwood’s hottest new venue, Barter!

This show will have a full out Maryjane infused musical playlist with all of our Burlesque performers dancing to classic weed hazed tunes and modern burnt blunt bumping tracks guaranteed to even contact buzz the non-smokers! Our standup comedians will be re-hashing all their old burn-out jokes and stories of living in the green cloud!

Hosted by Miami’s Bad Boy of Burlesque, your Master of Ceremonies, Rio Dios Mio. Your Standup Comedians for the evening are Pauley McPaulerson and DannyMiami Reyes.

This is an indoor sit-down cabaret show and will have Service staff available throughout the evening. There is an outside area with a food truck & grill, 2 bars, and a DJ from 3pm till close IF you’d like to arrive well before we open doors to the indoor venue.

10 Days of Connection is a community-led initiative to promote kindness and inclusion in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. From May 1-10, participants are invited to attend connection experiences hosted by more than 100 local organizations, and are challenged to step outside of their comfort zone to forge new connections across lines of difference.

In recent years, people have become increasingly divided across lines of difference. Incidents of hate have increased, and tolerance for differing ideas has decreased. For ten days each year, we challenge the entire community to break down silos and engage in acts of connection, to build empathy, to increase understanding, and to refocus on our shared humanity.

HOWEVER If you get to the end of your performance, you will enter the rotation of paid artists to be featured in our 2018 season of “In the Lobby Lounge…ETC!” Invite your friends for guaranteed support!

The Front Yard Theatre Collective has been producing “In the Lobby Lounge …ETC!” for the past two years, presenting everything from improv and stand up, to burlesque, magic and sideshow acts- even trained parrots! Every month we have a different theme, so we are always on the lookout for new talent. This is the third time we do the GONG show, and the winners performed with us during our 2017 season. Stand up comedians and graff writers have a lot in common – both hustling nonstop to make their visions a reality. This coming Sunday at Yo Space Gallery & Studios we’re going to prove it by throwing these two cultures a shindig where these artforms can thrive.
This innovative new night will welcome graffiti writers and street artists to swap slaps and sketchbooks (think: Writer’s Bench http://www.at149st.com/bench.html) and add in an open mic starting midway into the night, including comedy, spoken word, music and more.
Hosted by comics Regi Desjardins and Abe Perez, there’ll be plenty going on to keep you entertained while you get down in a sketchbook or trade some stickers with fellow collectors.
We’ll have refreshments, and as always ping pong table and N64 to fill in the gaps and everything else you need for a laid back good time.

Itâ€™s time to bring a little culture to Downtown Miami! CULTRA is a roving Open Mic held in a Downtown Miami park every third-Thursday from January to May. Produced in collaboration with Emerge Miami, CULTRA is an opportunity for local performers in all disciplines to showcase their skills for fellow Miamians in some of the most scenic public spaces this town has to offer. This month, we are taking CULTRA to the water thanks to the folks from Miami Science Barge!

The Imperial joins us as the host and curator this time around. Photographer Rod Deal and artist Marcus Blake have been hosting nights of free expression for nearly a decade at prominent Miami venues like the Vagabond and the Stage. Weâ€™ll start with the usual 90 minutes of open mic time from 7:30 â€“ 9pm followed by a feature performer.

We are psyched to have Words And Wine Open Mic as co-producers for the second edition! Words and Wine have been producing a weekly, Wednesday-night open mic for over six years. Expect a diverse lineup and a collection of local vendors for CULTRA’s debut in Museum Park! We’ll have the usual 90 minutes of open mic time from 7:30 – 9pm followed by a feature set from Gypsy Latin jammers TAMBOKA.

Interested in performing? Pre-register with our online form! It’s simple and you’ll have a good chance of getting a spot. Electricity is limited at Museum Park. Musicians should plan to play acoustic or rely on very little amplification. Day-of signup will close at 8pm.

CULTRA brings a little more culture to downtown in the first-ever roving, outdoor open mic in Miami starting on Thursday, January 19, 2017.

A collaborative event series produced by Buskerfest Miami and Emerge Miami, CULTRA is an opportunity for local performers in all disciplines to showcase their skills for fellow Miamians in some of the most scenic public spaces Downtown Miami has to offer. On the third-Thursday of each month, January to May 2017, CULTRA will be held in one of the Downtown Miami parks in an effort to put the â€œpublicâ€ back in public spaces and foster connections between attendees and our precious bayfront.

The event begins with ninety minutes of open stage time followed by a feature performance by a well-known local group. Each edition of CULTRA will be a collaboration with one of Miamiâ€™s other prominent, long-running open mics and include a guest host. Artistic Vibes, who produces one of Miamiâ€™s longest-running weekly open mics, will host the inaugural CULTRA event on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Tina Hills Pavilion in Bayfront Park. Future dates of CULTRA are February 16, March 16, April 20 and May 18.

ArtServe presents Open Mic Tuesdays hosted by the inimitable Michelle Rose Domb! We welcome talent from all walks of life: actors, singers, musicians, dancers, spoken word poets, comedians and more. There’s a mic, a barstool, a spotlight… all we need is you.

Show begins promptly at 7:00 pm. Time slots fill up FAST. It is highly recommended that artists register for the event in advance, to secure his/her time slot here: http://www.artserve.org/products-page/art-gift-shop/open-mic-tuesdays/.

Solo talent is designated up to 8 minutes. Group talent is designated up to 10 minutes. Respect the time given/share your time by sticking around after your performance= respecting your fellow talent. We all love playing to a full house.

Sound check will be made available on a first-come first-serve basis from 5-6pm.
Bring your instruments — house PA provided.

Smokey Suarez: Derron ‘Smokey’ Edington was born in December 1967 in Harlem, New York, USA as Derron Edington. He is an actor and writer, known forDef Comedy Jam, Comic View Comedy Jump Off: The Latino Connection , Paper Soldiers and State Property 2.

Ricky Cruz: Ricky Cruz began his career in entertainment in 1997 doing stand up comedy in Tallahassee, Fl. Moved back home to Miami, Fl. and began performing at the Miami Improv. His talent was recognized by the clubs management and he soon became a regular opener for nationally touring acts. Featured comedian at the South Beach Comedy Festival.
