Walls South American Red Ale has been a Social Hall hit since CBB opened, so it makes sense that Walls is the first beer to be canned on CBB’s new state-of-the-art canning line. To celebrate the launch, CBB will give $1 off of the purchase of a 4-pack of 16 oz. cans of Walls to guests that bring in four cans of food, which CBB will donate to the Wynwood Food Bank, just in time for Thanksgiving. The launch will include live music and artists painting on a special CANvas.

Peacock Park in Coconut Grove was the setting for Grovetoberfest which served over 300 unlimited beer samplings from around the country and around the world. Beer lovers gathered to try new releases, tap into old favorites and take part in Timed Tappings, which offered unprecedented access to specialty brews.

The Milam’s Kitchen Lab showcased award-winning, South Florida chefs who shared their fusion cuisine, beer pairing and cooking tips.

The Bougainvillea’s Live Music Stage featured South Florida favorite bands and food vendors were on hand selling everything from burgers to beer cupcakes.

Kudos to the crew at SWARM for putting together another awesome event!

The Nader Latin American Art Museum has launched the Botero Monumental Sculpture exhibit at Bayfront Park in Miami featuring 15 large-scale sculptures created by world-renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero. Admission is free.

Michael Pirolo Makes Tortellini

This past summer, Italian cuisine master and all around bad-ass chef, Michael Pirolo, prepared a private Italian feast filled with Prosciutto di Parma for some very lucky guests.

The ham is almost as old as Italian cuisine itself with the earliest references to Prosciutto di Parma dating back all the way to Roman times around 100 BC. The ham has a very strict certification. By law it can only be produced in the gently rolling countryside surrounding the city of Parma in north central Italy. The ham must use Italian-born and bred pigs raised according to the highest standards on which they are monitored, inspected and traced.

Once the ham is ready to be cured, a highly experienced maestri salatori (aka salt master) applies a minimal amount of sea salt necessary to produce a ham with the desired savory-sweet flavor profile. This is also the reason why Prosciutto di Parma tastes less salty than other ham varieties. At the end of the curing process, every leg of Prosciutto di Parma is checked for quality and then fire branded with the five-pointed Parma Crown, signifying its guarantee of authenticity and quality.

Dolphin Mall is set to celebrate the holiday season by creating a magical winter wonderland experience for shoppers, complete with nightly snowfall powered by the imagination of children. The annual tradition begins Wednesday, Nov. 25 and will continue through Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016.

To celebrate National Sandwich Day on Monday, November 2nd, La Moderna is offering a complimentary glass of wine with an order of the Broccola Panozzi, a “pizza sandwich” stuffed with broccoli rabe, bufala mozzarella and Italian Sausage, available during lunch time hours.

Hailing from the streets of Napoli, the Panozzi was created to serve as a quick, delicious lunch for the working-class in the modernist period in Italy after World War II. This distinctive Italian street food is shaped like a big sandwich, made ​​from high-quality pizza dough and baked in the handmade Stefano Ferrara wood-burning oven. The interior of the Panozzi can be stuffed with a variety of cheeses, meats and vegetables.

The Business Improvement District (BID) of Coral Gables makes dining dreams come true in one event with the start of the 2015 Giralda Under the Stars presented by Zacapa Rum dining al fresco series. More than a dozen restaurants and bars on the renowned Restaurant Row on Giralda Avenue, located between Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Galiano Street, will bring culinary excellence and libations outdoors for diners to enjoy, literally, under the stars. Restaurant Row will be closed to vehicular traffic, and participating restaurants will fill the street with tables and chairs, live music and entertainment from 7 p.m. to midnight every first Friday of the month through April 2016. Beginning in Miami and Miami Beach during the post World War II era as a local variation of modernist architectural movements in other parts of the world, MiMo buildings add glamour, fun, and material excess to otherwise stark, minimalist, and efficient styles.

The Fontainebleau, Eden Roc and Deauville hotels and garden style apartments are stunning examples of MiMo – featuring acute angles, delta wings, sweeping curved walls, and soaring pylons. Like Art Deco, there is a strong preservationist movement to preserve MiMo from the wrecking ball. One of the most interesting, refreshing and informative ways to spend an afternoon in Miami Beach is to take an Art Deco Cocktail Tour. As the name implies, you will be walking around the Art Deco gems of South Beach while stopping at a few of them to enjoy a libation.

Recently, Christine Michaels of Art Deco Tours invited a group of bloggers to participate in the experience. We all gathered at the Z Ocean Hotel where Christine immediately made us feel welcomed, she introduced us to James Cubby who would serve as our guide along with Christine.

It was an amazing experience!

Even if you’ve been in Miami most of your life (such as myself) the Art Deco Cocktail Tour is a wonderful way to get re-acquainted with Miami Beach’s wonderful history and architecture, not to mention the depth of information that can only be acquired from seeing and walking through these magnificent masterpieces. Just take the tour…you won’t regret it.

Miami City Ballet will kick off its landmark 30th Anniversary Season with a red-carpet opening night celebration at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, on October 23, 2015 at 6:30pm.

Ticket holders are invited to join the company 90 minutes prior to curtain on the Arsht Center’s Thompson Plaza for the Arts for an open-air reception with specialty cocktails, a live DJ, photo ops and a toast to 30 years of ballet. No RSVP necessary.

Selected artists will create site-specific installations that interact with the landscape & outdoor environment.
The curator will give preference to installations that include interactive and/or multi-sensory elements, and incorporate or adapt well to the site. Installations should incorporate a light source and have visual impact/high aesthetic appeal.
The site is located on a lake waterfront with a sand beach, and features a landscape with a long stretch of grass, elements of bushes and trees and a building with concrete walls and a wrap around tarmac.

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) MDC Live Arts will present the U.S. debut of Combinado Argentino de Danza (CAD), Saturday, Oct. 17 at 8 p.m., at the Colony Theatre. The renegade collective of dancers, musicians, DJs, and artists from Buenos Aires create a dynamic universe—where hip-hop, contemporary and Argentine folkloric dance engage and evolve in a constant state of conversation and transformation. Ticket are $25 for the general public and $10 for MDC students.

CAD’s signature is the diversity of disciplines and styles that exist within it. Unlike other multi-disciplinary dance companies that aim for a fusion of genres, CAD instead maintains and plays with the variety of independent expressions—seeking common logic or provocative interactions within a shared space. Reflecting our contemporary, globally-influenced and culturally-expanding society, it is a salad bowl versus a melting pot, and the results are striking. Hip-hop, contemporary and folkloric dancers, from conservatory and street alike, interplay or are juxtaposed in grand compositions. Visual artists, videographers, lighting designers and the renowned DJ Villa Diamante aid in constructing the group’s intriguing atmospheres.

Miami-Dade Transit and the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Departments, in partnership with Friends of The Underline invite you to attend a public meeting on Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, from 6-8 p.m., at the Coral Gables-University Holiday Inn, to present The Underline’s developing framework and master plan, plus design proposals of two demonstration projects in the areas of Brickell and the University of Miami (UM). The meeting will be led by The Underline’s master plan design team James Corner Field Operations.

The Underline is a proposed 10-mile stretch of biking and pedestrian trails and park spaces located beneath the county’s Metrorail, in the Transit Department’s Right of Way, between the Miami River north of Brickell and Dadeland South stations. The project’s vision is to enhance connectivity, mobility, and biking safety for hundreds of thousands of Miami-Dade residents and visitors.

After a successful 2014 run, Turkish Film Festivals USA returns to Miami from October 13th thru 15th. All screenings will take place at the Colony Theater located in 1040 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. As it is customary, all screenings are free and open to the public.

This year, the festival is bringing to Miami the best of what Turkish cinema has to offer. Opening the festival will be The Miracle, a masterpiece by world-renowned director Mahsun Kirmizigul. Turkey’s most popular film in 2015 is based on the real life of a teacher (Mahir), who changes the life of a solitary village in the east side of the country and still lives there. To celebrate this Miami Debut, the festival will be welcoming Director Mahsun Kirmizigul and producer Murat Tokat.

Closing the festival will be Sivas, which takes us through the journey an eleven-year-old boy (Aslan) and a weathered fighting dog (Sivas) that develop a strong relationship after Aslan finds Sivas wounded in a ditch. Circumstances will usher Aslan to an unexpected crash-course into adulthood, leaving his childhood behind, Directed by Kaan Mujdeci, Sivas has won awards around the world including the “Special Jury Prize” at the Venice Film Festival. This film features staged dog fighting scenes, however no animals were harmed in the making of this film. Joining us will be director Kaan Mujdeci and child actor Dogan Izci.

the acclaimed Italian restaurant in the heart of Mary Brickell Village, are proud to announce the exclusive monthly wine dinner series, “Behind the Red Curtain: An Exclusive Tour of Italy”. Each month, beginning October 12th, the wine dinners will showcase a four-course menu, which will be curated and prepared by the award-winning culinary team from Toscana Divino. The featured menu will be paired with ZONIN1821’s esteemed wine estates from the seven most important wine regions in Italy.

Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a refreshing flute of Zonin Prosecco followed by a four-course gourmet dinner highlighting fresh, seasonal ingredients. Dishes will be paired with expertly selected wines to complement each region’s cuisine. For the month of October, ZONIN1821 and Toscana Divino will highlight the Tuscan Chianti region. The menu will include locally inspired plates such as Salumi and Formaggi, Crostini Al Pate, Pici and Risotto Funghi, Fiorentina with Fagioli, Mashed Potatoes, and Cavolo Nero, and for dessert, Panforte Di Siena with Vin Santo.
