Ballet Flamenco La Rosa is set to present two breathtaking new works May 20-22, 2016 at The Colony Theater in Miami Beach, with guest artists from Spain and Russia. The first will be Al Grano, a pure Flamenco evening on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. This passionate new work gets to the heart of Flamenco in a rich and mesmerizing evening of pure Flamenco music and dance in a range of rhythms and styles that will take you through dramatic, soulful, joyous, and sensual moods with exquisite vocals, electrifying footwork, and all of the grace and beauty that has made Flamenco so loved by audiences throughout the world.

With the second work the company will present the premier of La Gaviota, an original Flamenco Ballet by Ilisa Rosal inspired by Chekhov’s famous play, The Seagull, on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 3:00 pm. Flamenco’s earthy power, spellbinding athleticism, subtle nuances and explosive energy make it at once sensual and spiritual, raw and refined and a compelling way to interpret this timeless story of art, passion, love, betrayal and loss.
La Gaviota is a slice of life drama set in the Russian countryside of the 19th Century, where the cast of characters search for love and success. Dancer and choreographer Ilisa Rosal brings together dancers from Spain Pepe Flores, La Popi, Eloy Aguilar and Lucía la Rusa from Russia accompanied by singer Alicia Morales and guitarist Israel Heredia from Granada, Spain to create and arrange the music to be performed live for this magnificent production
