Visitors to Miami Seaquarium can go back in time and deep under sea, or at least feel that way. Savage Ancient Seas, opening March 8, 2019, will transport guests to a North America of 70 million years ago, when the last of the great dinosaurs roamed the Earth and a shallow sea spread across the middle of the continent. It is the spectacular, strange creatures of this sea; giant reptiles, fish, squid, and clams; that are the subject of this exciting exhibition.
In partnership with Triebold Paleontology, Inc., Miami Seaquarium has developed an ancient underwater environment where visitors can experience enormous, vicious sea monsters of the Cretaceous Period. The exhibition includes more than 50 prehistoric marine fossils, both cast and real specimens, mounted in extraordinary three-dimensional displays. The skeletons are mounted dramatically, many suspended from the ceiling above, immersing visitors inside an ancient aquarium of sorts.
The creatures on exhibit include: several mosasaurs (marine lizards which only lived during the Late Cretaceous), including the 45-foot long Bunker Tylosaurus, the largest mosasaur ever discovered in North America; a school of Pachyrhizodus, vicious fish nearly 6 feet long; and Archelon, which with a 17-foot flipper-span is the largest turtle of any kind ever discovered.
Sampling the educational kiosks stationed throughout the exhibition, visitors can learn the story of how these creatures lived, and how most of them appear to have become extinct, along with the dinosaurs. Visitors can also learn how the animals sank to the bottom of the sea when they died, where they were buried in chalky layers of sediment to eventually fossilize.

South Florida’s iconic eco-adventure destination is back with the all-new, exciting Adventure Camp, designed to keep kids’ ages 5 to 12-years-old engaged and thoroughly entertained over the long summer break. Available from June 10-August 9, Jungle Island offers week-long and full-day camps filled with educational hands-on animal encounters, arts & crafts, fitness, space exploration, and nature discovery, among other activities. Each week features a new theme, including Around the Globe in Five Days, Time Travel, Disasters on Earth, Out of This World Odyssey, and Adventure Quest.

Summer Adventure Camp is offered from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday at a weekly rate of $175 per week, per child, or daily for $50 per child. Go Wild VIP Kids Tours and SuperFlight experiences are available at an additional cost. Early and late care is available at an additional cost of $40 for a week or $10 for the day. Springtime brings excitement to Miami Seaquarium with the return of spring camp. Campers will learn about different kinds of ocean life through this year’s theme “Spring & Splash.” The park’s spring camp program offers students from kindergarten to high school the opportunity to learn about environmental issues facing our planet including pollution, invasive species, water conservation, habitat destruction, and endangered species. The week-long camp includes one marine mammal show a day, at least one animal interaction a day, educational treasure hunts and pirate myths, Salty’s Pirate Playground, arts and crafts, interactive games and experiments, and much more. Spring camp will take place March 25 – 29, 2019 for campers’ ages 5 to 18 years.

The gallery rotates works from different artist in the Pop-Up space at the hotel. The gallery curator, Jeniree Blanco, choose the work of Dalia Berlin for the fundraising exhibition. Born in Madrid, Spain, Berlin prefers mixed media, often mixing acrylic and oils over canvas, adding paper and other elements for added dimension. Biosphere is a three-act saga named: “The Alpha”, “Sapiens”, and “The Omega”. By mixing hip-hop, breakdance and contemporary dance, Biosphere retraces the evolution of the human being and the creation of Earth. In differenciated tempos, the dancers offer an interpretation of animals’ shapes and movements, insects, humans, and fantastic creatures.

This workshop will enable students to learn about the scenography of such a dance project, from the dance itself to the clothes, the soundtracks and the lights. Participants will learn about the evolution of Human beings, in the context of the “Echo-Natures” edition of the Tout-Monde Festival. The teenagers will be invited to learn some dance and break-dance movements, through a dedicated class taught by the dancers. The official show will be performed by the artists on the same day at 8pm.

Cannibal Desire responds to the powerful pulsions, longings and fantasies of a violence from another time. In this project, the dimension of power defines an ambition which aims at multiplying new sensations and experiences, free of any hierarchy and form of control. The impetus of cannibal desire thus becomes, for the Caribbean artists, a state of consciousness, a way to consider the world.

Through selected paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs and videos, the curators Jean-Marc Hunt and Marie Vickles explore a poetic state of transe, similar to an unlimited fantasy with all sorts of possibilities. The exhibition Cannibal Desire was first shown in 2018 at the Fondation Clément in Martinique, focusing on emerging artists from Guadeloupe. Now travelling to Miami, the exhibition is expanding to artists from Martinique, French Guiana, Haiti, Mexico and Venezuela.

Raranaval is a collective performance in the streets, taking the form of a phenomenal procession. RARA is a popular street procession with dance and music celebrating the end of carnival in Haiti. Bodies are highlighted in colorful costumes to transcend social taboos and question borders between modernity and tradition in a public space. Overall, it is a collective response to contemporary individualist practices and habits.

Performing in Paradise Plaza in the Design District is a symbolic act of reappropriation of a gentrificated neighborhood. Through rhythmic dances, chants and sounds of drums, spectators in the streets will be invited to join this reappropriation act in an intergernerational and uniting spirit. RARA costumes will resonate with contemporary fashion designers and art of the Design District.

Yué is the name of all the women who ever invest and occupy with their body a piece of public space: in this case, PAMM’s waterfront. Myriam Soulanges and Anne Meyer found the bodies and gestures of Yué thanks to stories of women they met during residencies in French Guiana and Guadeloupe. Those stories are now shared with other women from the Caribbean and from Miami. Myriam Soulanges and Anne Meyer show a work of feminine/artistic engagement in a tormented context of social movements and climate change. Hurricanes Irma and Maria have also influenced Yué#sorority, and later on visual artist Guy Gabon joined the project. Forced migrations increase women’s vulnerability and exacerbates inequalities. They need our attention today. The choreographic thread of Yué#Sorority is reconstructed in Miami with volunteer performers who have been meeting up for two weeks in Little Haiti Cultural Center in Little Haiti and the Koubek Center in Little Havana during dance and sewing workshops with the artists.

Funding Arts Broward (FAB!), a nonprofit volunteer-based arts organization committed to supporting, sustaining and enriching the arts in Broward County, will feature special guest speaker Janet Erlick, executive artistic director of Florida Children’s Theatre (FCT), at its Spring Luncheon and Annual Meeting. The arts celebration will also host an interactive student panel discussion and performance.

The award-winning Florida Children’s Theatre offers year-round classes, productions and outreach programming. Erlick teaches, directs and acts in the community and developed the theatre’s comprehensive outreach program that now serves over 25,000 people, yearly. The FCT’s in-school programs include conflict resolution, literacy improvement through drama and arts infusion across the academic curriculum.

Erlick is also responsible for creating ongoing partnerships with many cultural and social service organizations, frequently working with families dealing with terminal illness and children with special needs or living in residential centers. Currently, she serves as chair of Broward County’s Cultural Executives Committee, as a member of the Executive Committee of the Broward Cultural Council and is involved with Leadership Broward and Broward Women’s Alliance, among others.

History Fort Lauderdale, proud steward of our community’s past by making our heritage accessible and engaging to residents and visitors, will host its newest visual arts exhibit entitled “Paradise from Land to Sea: Photography of JohnBob Carlos” from March 3 – May 22, 2019. Photographs artistically capturing the beauty and majesty of Florida’s coastal vistas, skies and wildlife will be on display at the New River Inn.

JohnBob Carlos, a native Floridian and photographer, captures images of Florida’s wildlife, landscapes, cultures, and waterways. His art of the lens is his means for creating a voice for Florida’s nature and preserving Florida’s culture. At a young age he felt a calling to paddle, hike, fish, and explore the Everglades. He was at home among the hammocks, swamps, strands, animals, Mangrove Islands and Florida’s wild. In recent years Carlos has become deeply concerned about the state of Florida’s nature – the devastation of these areas mostly due to money, development, pollution, business and politics. He continues to realistically document the beauty and wonder of the world around us and uses his lens to focus on the region’s need for the greater conservation and preservation of resources.

Presented by History Fort Lauderdale, bringing the stories of our diverse community to life through engaging educational experiences, innovative cultural exhibits, research and preservation of artifacts. Residents and visitors to Fort Lauderdale are invited to explore the city’s rich past that is housed in historic buildings on a lushly landscaped campus – the History Museum of Fort Lauderdale situated in the 1905 New River Inn, the 1907 Pioneer House Museum, the 1899 Ivy Cromartie Schoolhouse Museum and the Hoch Research Library, South Florida’s foremost history center housing print resources and newspapers from 1910 – present plus 400,000 archival photos, 2,500 maps and 5,000 architectural blueprints. “Swashbucklers and Sirens” – March 9th – 10th All hands ahoy! Hurricanes, a contemporary tragedy from Martinique. Guiding us through a life-threatening double investigation, the two main characters run towards a devastating, mindblowing truth; a secret that unites them.

In 2016, Hurricanes was presented ten times in Martinique & Guadeloupe, then made its way to the notorious Festival d’Avignon OFF 2017 where it was awarded a trophy “Coup de Coeur” from the Press Club Avignon-Vaucluse. Hurricanes had no less than 2000 spectators in 32 performances.

The Tout-Monde Festival is an initiative launched in 2018 by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States of America, in close partnership with the France Florida Foundation for the Arts and French Arts Associates. It is a multidisciplinary contemporary arts festival that creates new opportunities for Caribbean contemporary artists by fostering relations and building long-term partnerships between French Caribbean and other Caribbean artists, academics and cultural institutions in Florida, the United States and the wider Caribbean region.

By doing so, the festival also endeavors to develop the knowledge of future generations about Caribbean culture and to encourage tourism and economic exchange between Florida and the Caribbean. Spanning across all fields — visual and performing arts including music, dance, theatre, film, literature –, the Tout-Monde Festival will present contemporary artistic, cultural and intellectual practices of the greater insular, continental and diasporic Caribbean context.

The Tout-Monde Festival aspires to embody the spirit and philosophy of the “Tout-Monde” – the union of territories, cultures and individuals with multiples roots in one “Whole World” –, a concept introduced by Martinican writer, poet and philosopher Edouard Glissant (1928-2011) in his book Traité du Tout-Monde.

The theme of the 2nd edition, Echo-Natures, aims at deconstructing stereotypes of the Caribbean by exploring the deep characteristics and the essence of the Caribbean through different beings, shapes and environments. Analyzing how these Caribbean Natures, encountered in insular, continental and diasporic contexts, resonate one to another, and with the rest of the world, in reference to the Echo-World of Edouard Glissant.

This edition will take place from March 13 to March 17, 2019 in six key places of Miami art scene: the Koubek Center, the Pérez Art Museum Miami, the Museum of Art and Design @ MDC, the Wolfsonian-FIU, Little Haiti Cultural Complex, and the Institute of Contemporary Art.

The 2019 American Cancer Society’s Celebration Gala will be held at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa on Saturday, May 4, 2019. The theme is “Kentucky Derby” and will be hosted by Dale McLean, in-arena host for the Miami Heat, and auctioneer Joe Girvan.

Introducing a new solo exhibition by internationally acclaimed artist, Steve Marcus, titled Through The Hat: The Art of Steve Marcus. Steve Marcus has been a consistent trailblazer in both mainstream and underground cultures. The exhibition is accompanied by photos of the artist at work by legendary photographer Sid Kaplan (of “Vanishing New York” fame). The exhibition opens March 6, 2019 and runs through May 21, 2019. 
Through The Hat includes more than 26 wood-carved sculptures and Jewish ritual objects, more than a dozen hand-drawn works, and custom synagogue furniture. Marcus seamlessly weaves his Proustian childhood memories of the culinary tastes of Jewish New York with his personal journey and passion for his own roots and culture. In his book he asks, “Did I get so involved in something else that I missed the disappearance of a city that was my foundation and helped mold my Jewish identity? I would come home and make artwork inspired from studying the Mish-na, Gemara, Chumash, and wonder about a vanishing community that melded with my distant memories.” In Through the Hat, Marcus has created a folk/cartoon world that is the Kosher cousin of those created by artists Alexander Calder and Red Grooms. His beautifully crafted renditions of Jewish life in New York City celebrate a culture of orthodoxy and unorthodoxy in all their splendor. 
Regarding this art show, Marcus states, “My current body of work expresses my own roots and culture and proudly contains Jewish values, experiences, and perspectives as a celebration of authenticity. The artwork is not just a creative declaration of my own identity and beliefs, but also created to inspire all people to celebrate and explore their own true identities. My work is the manifestation of a creative rebellion of expression that smashes falsehood and hatred. The quest for the truth will lead to oneness.” 
Regarding art today, Steven says “In the era of globalization, the ugliness of cultural appropriation has become rampant, as various outside cultures are now easily accessible with the assistance of the Internet and social media platforms. The digital age specter of colonialism, imperialism, and social Darwinism disseminates information and imagery at a dystopian pace. These digital platforms socially engineer the world’s population with homogenized source materials and value systems with extreme prejudice, and an unending flow of content feeds the world’s appetite for conflict and entertainment, offering a variety of consumer identities recognizable the world over. Consumers hijack distant cultures’ attitudes and style cues to mold themselves into the hipster approximations of cultures they have never experienced firsthand. This form of imitation is the stylistic manifestation of colonial imperialism, and is helping to pave a bland and blind path toward a global monoculture. The greatest existential threat to the Jewish people is the Jewish people themselves. The apologetic and sometimes dismissive attitude Jews have about being Jewish has left most Jewish artists and institutions struggling through a postmodern identity crisis. They’ve abandoned so much of their own intrinsic identity, cowering under the threats of the BDS movement, anti-Israel sentiment, and hipster ideology, and now live an unsustainable fantasy, creating art that begs for acceptance from their own tormentors.”
More About Steve Marcus: Marcus (aka smarcus) has received honors and awards from the American Society of Illustrators; has several works in the permanent collection of the Oakland Museum of Art in California, as well as in private art collections worldwide; and has collaborated with Allen Ginsberg, Ken Kesey, Timothy Leary, The Norman Mailer and Miguel Pinero Estates, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. His work has been featured in High Times Magazine and the Cannabis Cup, New York Times, MTV, The Tibetan Freedom Concerts, The Source, Conde Nast Publications, Esquire and posters for the world famous Fillmore in San Francisco. 
The Jewish Museum of Florida- JMOF FIU’s first exhibition after renovations of their main gallery will be Through The Hat: The Art of Steve Marcus. JMOF-FIU is the only museum dedicated to telling the story of more than 250 years of Florida’s Jewish history with a growing collection of more than 100,000 items.

Wynwood mezcaleria Melinda’s announces today that it is partnering with other South Florida bars and Q, the Brooklyn-based maker of spectacular mixers, to host “HIGHBALL’R,” a celebration, open to the public, of the simple, yet incredibly elegant highball cocktail.

A special HIGHBALL’R menu of highball cocktails will be available for one night only, with drinks from an all-star cast of South Florida bartenders including Gaston Gonzalez (Casa Florida), Diego Nave (Tacology), Emiliano Gonzalez (Casa Florida), Ricardo Astudillo (Ilegal Mezcal), Alejandro Noriega (Santa Teresa), and Marco Nava (Cantina la Veinte).

Esquire declares “The highball is making a comeback…They are the antidote to seven-ingredient mixology hijinks, a respectable respite from your martini habit, and the drink of the post-experienced drinker.”

So what is a highball? To say it’s a couple ounces of spirit (whiskey, gin, etc) poured into glass and topped with a haphazard squirt of club soda or tonic is to undervalue what differentiates a highball cocktail from the vodka-sodas we all drank in college.

A truly great highball is built from the glass, up. It starts with a sleek, slender highball glass a chilled at freezing temperatures. The glass is removed from the freezer and filled with “ice so clear that you can read fine print through it.” About two ounces of spirit are added. And then, holding the glass at an angle, the bartender pours slowly the chilled mixer of choice. This technique maximizes the mixer’s carbonation ensuring the drink is just as fizzy on the last sip as the first.

Esquire continues, “The attention to detail is palpable. There’s a bracing fizz and a steady undercurrent of whisky from first sip to last, with no watered-down sludge at the end; ye olde whisky soda, by comparison, tastes like a bad accident.

When asked ‘What’s in a highball and what makes it different?’ Masahiro Urushido of New York’s Katana Kitten replied, ‘Care and love. It’s all about how you make it.’

Miami Music Week is a celebration of music at venues around the city. On Saturday, March 2, VEZA SUR Brewing Co. will host its second annual Carnaval Block Party, transforming 25th Street into a tremenda pachanga celebrating our Miami and Latin roots.

Rumberos are invited to join Miami’s Latin-inspired Brewery for this epic Carnaval celebracion featuring non-stop música, performances by Los Chinchillos and local DJs, local food vendors, and a special cerveza release. Veza Sur will bring the high energy of Carnaval with Samba, Batucada, Capoeira, and Mapalé dancers coming together for an explosion of culture on the streets of Wynwood. ¡El que lo vive lo goza!

PANDORA at Shops at Merrick Park will celebrate its opening with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, February 21 from 5-7 p.m. with support from the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce. The milestone will also serve as the debut of a new collaboration with the Ponce Society of Young Professionals that will receive a portion of the proceeds from store sales during Feb. 21 through February 24.

The community is invited to witness the ribbon cutting ceremony with key PANDORA representatives, Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and City officials and the charity partner. The ribbon cutting ceremony will feature live music and a free gift with purchase of $150 or more.

Pandora will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales during Feb.21-24 to the Ponce Society of Young Professionals, a young professionals group ages 23-40 in the City Beautiful. The Ponce Society is dedicated to enhancing the Coral Gables Community Foundation’s mission of improving the quality of life for those who live, work, learn and play in Coral Gables.

Shake your shamrock this St. Patrick’s Day at JohnMartin’s Irish Pub & Restaurant’s 29th annual Celtic celebration. On Sunday, March 17, the iconic Coral Gables pub will be hosting a variety of Irish-themed St. Patrick’s Day activities for everyone to enjoy starting at noon until 2 a.m.
The Official Kick Off will be marked with the band, “Luna,” who owners Martin Lynch and John Clarke have flown over from Ireland to perform for three nights on March 16th, 17th and 19th. Beethoven is Back! Orchestra Miami’s annual series of free outdoor concerts- “Beethoven on the Beach”- returns this March. This year’s edition- “Heroes”- features an all-Beethoven program with a theme of heroism. The program includes excerpts from Beethoven’s only opera, Fidelio, featuring Laura Pederson and Jennifer Tipton, soprano soloists, and Matthew Mannes, tenor and the dramatic “Eroica” Symphony N. 3 in E Flat Major, Op. 55. The 38 musicians of Orchestra Miami will be led by Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi.
Friday, March 8th at 8:00 PM at the North Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. This is a FREE event, however there is a $10 per person suggested donation. Give what you can- no one will be turned away! Bench seating is provided or bring a lawn chair. You may bring a picnic, but please no outside beverages. The Ike and Val Woods Blues Band competed and won first place at the Monterey Blues Festivals’ “Battle of the Bands”. The Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus (FTLGMC) is honoring the 100 years of American Composer Leonard Bernstein and the legacy of Matthew Shepard – a college student who more than two decades ago was the victim of a brutal gay-hate murder – during “A Celebration of Life, Love and Music” performance on Sunday, March 17 at 5 p.m. from the All Saints Episcopal Church in Fort Lauderdale. A portion of show proceeds will benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation.

While a significant portion of the evening showcases the prolific works of Bernstein, the Chorus is dedicating “Changing Hearts,” a special, six-piece collection, to Shepard and others who have been the victims of gay-hate crimes. The set features songs from some of Bernstein’s renowned Broadway musicals such as West Side Story, On the Town and Candidae. Scenes from The Laramie Project, a play that debuted in 2000 by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project about the reaction of Shepard’s death, are being interspersed with the evening’s musical selections: Tonight; Something’s Coming; One Hand, One Heart; I Can Cook Too and Make Our Garden Grow.

Funding for the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus is provided in part by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council. General admission tickets are $25 and VIP tickets with priority seating are priced at $40, plus a small service fee.

All of the flavors of Asia will be on full display, featuring gastronomical delights from Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Turkey, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tibet, Vietnam and more.

The two-day festival will offer a range of entertainment that set to dazzle audiences of all ages with drummers, dancers, musicians, martial artists and others expressing their heritage through shared cultural experiences. Featured performances include Lion Dance, Dragon Boat Racing, The Thai Dance Troupe of Ottawa and Fushu Daiko Japanese Taiko drummers, which will embrace traditions with extravagant costumes, original instruments and dance styles rooted in historical celebrations, that date back over thousands of years.

An array of family-friendly activities will be curated for children, to actively learn about and experience the traditions, contribution, and heritage of Asia. Kids will receive a traveling Passport as they embark on educational adventures visiting each country, where they will learn how to write their name in Chinese, and origami. A children’s playground will boast enjoyable games such as rock climbing, a bounce house fun and more.

Additional unique programs include: Traditional Thai Fruit and Vegetable Carving, Free Ikebana & Japanese Flower Arrangement workshops at the Coral Rock Auditorium. Asian arts, crafts, cultural products and a variety of plants will also be on display and available for purchase.

With the continuous loyalty of the Asian-American community, and Asian-enthusiasts alike, the Asian Culture Festival attracted more than 15,000 visitors last year. The Miami Youth Climate Summit, hosted by the Gulliver Field Studies Program, is a student-led initiative featuring keynote speakers Ron Magill of Zoo Miami, Zack Rago of the Netflix documentary, Chasing Coral, and National Geographic Explorers, made up of conservationists, scientists and educators. The Summit includes three breakout sessions with multiple speakers, a screening of Chasing Coral and a National Geographic Teacher Certification session.
The purpose of the Summit is to set the framework for collaboration among today’s youth to fight climate change, and to establish a Student Advisory Board on Climate Change in Florida, led by Gulliver.

About Michelle DiMarco
Michelle DiMarco had no idea she wanted to be an entrepreneur. 
After college, DiMarco struggled finding a career that she was madly
passionate about. She sought refuge in keeping up on the latest trends
in fashion magazines and designer blogs, while styling her friends for fun.
Her muses ranged from Bridget Bardot to Diane Kruger and Carine
Roitfeld. When a retail space opened up near her home in Florida, her mom encouraged her to take a leap of (fashionable) faith. She listened closely
to her heart which encouraged her to create the Lilac And Lilies Boutique. 
 
Michelle DiMarco, born in New Port Richey, Florida and raised by a single
mother from Cuba, learned from an early age the importance of her roots,
heritage and culture, yet to cultivate an independent spirit to evolve
and successfully follow her dreams. DiMarco graduated from Florida
Atlantic University in Boca Raton with a degree in Intercultural
Communications. During college, she pursued her passion for travel
while spending three months in Ghana, Africa for an exclusive study
abroad program. Thereafter, she continued to be inspired by exploring
new places which led her to New York City to attend The Fashion Institute
of Technology where she studied Creative Enterprise Ownership. Over
the last ten years, DiMarco has grown the brand into a shopping
destination for high quality, on-trend and affordable finds for Florida’s
fashionistas and beyond with a corresponding e-shop.
 
Throughout her career as an entrepreneur, DiMarco has been able to
give back in many ways as a devoted volunteer and advocate for
philanthropy. She has been nominated as one of the 100 Outstanding
Women of Broward County for three years in a row, benefitting The
Boys and Girls Club. She is active on the board of The Humane Society
of Broward County, and regularly volunteers for Kids in Distress. DiMarco
is also a recipient of The Glammy Award for her community activism
benefitting breast cancer research. DiMarco has been featured in WWD,

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run presented by Turkish Airlines, a three-circuit 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk, will once again wind its way through the streets of West Palm Beach. Known as “Florida’s Largest Office Party”, the run is open to employees of businesses, corporations, government agencies, financial institutions and non-profits – regardless of company size – and incorporates a special competition to award the overall men’s, women’s and co-ed teams in 20 different industries. Beginners can “ease into exercise” with friends and gain inspiration and motivation to continue walking and running to improve overall health, while competitive runners have the opportunity to shine amongst their co-workers and lead the corporate team to victory.

As part of the tri-county race circuit, $1 per participant of the West Palm Beach run will benefit United Way.

Nick, better known as “Damage” on the streets of Miami, is the young leader of an infamous graffiti crew that leaves its mark wherever it goes. As they grow larger in fame and number, problems start arising–Nick’s personal life goes on a downward spiral; the illegal nature of his passion is bound to get him in trouble with the authorities, and, on top of that, he has to learn to fend off the local rival crew.

A local production shot in Miami’s neighborhoods of Wynwood, Little Havana and Little Haiti, Vandal takes the very thrilling world of graffiti art and explores the struggle of street artists to keep their art alive as well as the social backlash that goes hand in hand with pursuing their biggest passion. Director Jose Daniel Freixas, a graffiti artist in his own right since the age of 10, puts his firsthand experience in the world of graffiti to good use by highlighting Miami’s gritty streets as well as its multi-cultural heritage to show a city full of color, life and passion.

Miami’s most in-demand party scene, Rockwell nightclub, will be joining forces with South Beach’s hottest most-anticipated weekend oceanfront volleyball competition: Hawkers Model Volleyball, returning this year for its 10th Annual gathering. The Hawkers Model Volleyball tournament has lived on the sand of Miami Beach since 2010 and has become a signature event across South Florida. On Saturday (February 16th) and Sunday (February 17th) from 12pm-6pm, Rockwell will be taking over the Hawkers VIP Ocean Deck tent, inviting guests to stop by their pop-up oasis during the tournament on the beach on Ocean Drive.
