Bubbles, Michael Jackson’s Chimp, Really Does Paint!

Miami, June 8, 2017: After great success at Art Basel 2012, the paintings by Michael Jackson’s chimpanzee, Bubbles, and many others will be on display for 10 days at Frames USA & Art Gallery in Miami. The opening reception will be on July 21, 2017 from 6pm-10pm where the public can view and purchase a very unique piece of original ape art.

“Purchasing a piece of original art by apes is a collectible. It creates conversation, it is a form of expression, and it is rare”, Adam Brand says, owner of Frames USA. “Not to mention that the proceeds from the sales of the art will go to an amazing cause”

Over the years, zoos and sanctuaries have dabbled into selling artwork at their gift shops by resident animals to raise money. However, the purpose of this art show, Apes that Paint, extends beyond that. It seeks to establish the fact that apes are artists without judgment and second that these ape artists are contributing to the fundraising efforts for The Center for Great Apes, located in Wauchula, Florida.

Aside from artworks from our star artist Bubbles, the exhibition will host other wonderful original pieces from celebrity apes. Among them, the art of chimpanzees from Planet of the Apes, and orangutans from the movie Going Apes, and NBC’s soap opera Passions. This French brasserie combines traditional French dishes with flavors of Spain, Greece and Italy, all of which are prepared in-house in Marion’s open kitchen. The venue, typically open Wednesday-Sunday, will open its doors to the public on Monday, July 4th to celebrate Americaâ€™s Independence Day. Patrons will enjoy an array of festivities, including musical performances, activities and a special menu offering American-cuisine favorites, infused with River Yacht Clubâ€™s signature European techniques. Special menu items will include lobster rolls, sliders, coleslaw, watermelon salad and corn on the cob, among others. Participants will experience an interactive speed and performance bowling game, hosted by none other than the magnificent master of ceremonies, Gio, along with his sidekick Pin-Tits, and featuring sounds by Otto Von Schriach.

Good afternoon! I am a research assistant at the Infant Development Lab at FIU under Dr. Lorraine Bahrick.

Our lab conducts federally-funded research on infant and child development. Currently, we are recruiting a select group of highly motivated and interested parents of 2 to 3-month-olds to be part of an important, new project. Mothers and their children would become part of establishing norms for the typical development of attention and perception, while also learning more about their own childâ€™s development. Parents will be compensated with $30 each visit and $300 at the end of the study.

With his A-list celebrity chums, astronomical bank balance and palatial homes in Miami, Ibiza and soon Los Angeles, few people epitomize the ‘superstar DJ’ like Erick Morillo. The organizers of the IMS music conference in Ibiza certainly thought so, inviting Erick to give a talk entitled ‘Big Dog DJs: Fuck You I’m Famous’ earlier this year.
“People definitely know my name, but I’ve worked hard to get here,” Erick says. “It’s not like I think people should bow before me because I’m some big star.”
Although, with his Subliminal Sessions nights at Pacha having enjoyed their 13th year (making Morillo the White Isle’s longest-serving resident DJ in 2010) Ibiza is already conquered. With a resurgent Subliminal Records churning out floor fillers by the month, two new albums – one solo and one with Jose Nunez and Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero as The Dronez – in production and a live show in the works, Morillo is now redoubling his campaign to take America. Come with us as we explore our inner world and examine its real life effects; from learning to love, numerology to neurology, art to science – explore these through a collaborative presentation based on NEUROSCIENCE: the science behind why we do what we do and feel what we feel.

We’ll ponder the imponderable and examine ourselves by learning about the mysteries of the brain. You’ll be able to work out your mind with some “AHA!” driven activities. Our Mad Scientist, David L. Kay, has lived and worked at the intersection of applied learning, behavior analysis, and computer and video technology for over three and a half decades. His fascination with the brain stems from experiences with igniting it, for fun and work!

Drunken Dragon, a hidden gem nestled in an understated strip mall, void of any visible signage outside a stealthy crimson-hued â€œMARKETâ€, is inviting you to spend the night before Thanksgiving with complimentary bites and sake cocktails sponsored by Hiro Sake. The event called Dragon Hour kicks off at 6 pm on Wednesday, November 25 and lasts until 8pm.
Drunken Dragon is an Asian-inspired gastropub that offers a do-it-yourself method of tableside grilling where guests roast an array of intensely flavored selections over an energetic flame. The joint Holiday Party tradition was started in 2012 when a group of friends were inspired to unite the young leaders in South Florida for one cause, and one epic celebration. The event is designed to welcome and include all groups and has true charity at its root purpose.
