Gain the knowledge and confidence to make the best home buying decisions for you and your family by attending one of the free seminars taking place on June 11 in Lauderdale Lakes, June 21 at the Biscayne branch, June 25 in Lauderhill and July 20 at the North Miami branch.

This group of like-minded women is meeting once a quarter to gain awareness of local causes in the Miami- Dade community and selecting one lucky non for profit a quarter to donate their collective funds. As a donor advised 501c3 in partnership with The Miami Foundation, 100+ Women Who Care Miami-Dade was founded in 2014 and since then has donated over $40,000 directly to causes in need. How do they do it? Each member donates $400 per year which serves at four separate $100 donations to the four winning quarterly charities. Our next meeting will be back at Dolores Lolita on July 19th 5:30pm-8pm with networking before the meeting.

Caveman Cult has been relentlessly churning out some of the most savage death metal to come out of Florida over the past couple of years, gaining notoriety in death and black metal circles worldwide. Since 2014 the band has released two renowned demos, and played a handful of gigs in Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana. 2016 will see the release of their milestone debut full length “Savage War Is Destiny” as well as a vinyl re-issue of their second more obscure demo “Barbaric Bloodlust”. The band will also play this years notorious Cathedral Of The Black Goat festival which takes place in Chicago every October showcasing some of the most obscure and elite death and black metal acts from all over the world.

Alternative MIA and Caveman Cult are extremely honored to celebrate alongside their long time friends and comrades in KOROIDIA (old school death metal played by the truest perpetrators of brutality in south Florida, members of Hibernus Mortis), SLOTH (originally based in Ohio, Sloth is a true legend of the underground, having released hundreds of albums, splits, and EP’s over the span of 20+ years), NEKROMANIAK (South Florida’s old guard & defenders of the faith, Metal played by real deal rock and rollers), and FORLATT (the solo works of Chris Bell, encompassing sounds that span across ambient noise, black metal, and post rock).

The Miami Design District and James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Schwartz are celebrating summer with Genuine Summer Series: a three-event culinary experience series in the Design District’s Palm Court with food from Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink (MGFD).

Kicking off the series on Friday, June 10 is Sundown Grillout, an outdoor feast off the Lynx Grill featuring pairings by Wines of Germany with special attention to Riesling varietals. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour with passed bites followed by a three-course seated dinner at farm-style tables in breezy Palm Court. The evening will feature live music from Marcus Grant “Mutes & Roots” Jazz Trio.

Passed Bites – Crispy Shortrib romesco, duchilly hazelnuts; Slow Roasted Pork Pizza, fig, grilled onion, fontina, arugula; Wood-Grilled Florida Shrimp dill aioli; and Ricotta Crostini apricot thyme jam alongside Local Fish Ceviche and Classic Deviled Eggs. Paired with 2014 Blue Fish Original Dry Riesling, Pfalz.

First– Florida Mangos with torn herbs, bean sprouts, peanuts, nuoc cham vinaigrette, and fried onions. Paired with 2013 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Riesling Kabinett, Mosel.

Second – Rotisserie Leg of Lamb served family style with new potatoes, preserved meyer lemon, salsa verde, watercress along with merguez lamb sausage, pickled red onions, cucumbers, and yogurt. Paired with 2012 August Kesseler “N” Pinot Noir, Rheingau.

Dessert – Grilled Peaches with crème fraiche, Florida honey, pistachios, and thyme. Paired with NV Dr. L Sparkling Riesling, Mosel.

Events by Grateful Palate will host Fort Lauderdale’s first Passport Wine Series. Each month wines paired with cuisine from a new region of the world will be featured. The inaugural wine tasting event will showcase wines from the Pacific Northwest and paired cuisine. Guests will savor 10 different wines ranging from crisp whites and full-bodied reds. Seven distinct wineries in Oregon and Washington State will be featured. Five progressive chef-manned stations will compare two wines of the same varietal while a complementing culinary offering will round out the grand tasting experience. Churchill’s is teaming up with the Consulate of Ecuador in Miami to help coordinate efforts to send relief to the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Ecuador on April 16th.
We had a great success with our Ecuador Relief Party on May 1st! We will continue to accept donations all through the month of May and close out with the Ecuador Relief Fest on May 31st!

We need you to bring nonperishable food like canned goods, grains, biscuits, energy bars, etc), clothing in good condition (clothing, shoes, bedding), Bottles of water, sports drinks, mattresses, tents, awnings, & hygiene supplies. Cash donations will also be accepted.

joined the band in 1989 filling the most difficult shoes to be
filled, Dee Dee Ramone’s, one of the founders and main composer
of the band. Since the band retired, he has played in The
Ramainz, which was formed by Dee Dee Ramone, Marky Ramone and
Dee Dee’s wife, Barbara Zampini. He also played with Axe Attack,
Los Gusanos, and his last group effort was with Bad Chopper.

4IT announced a partnership with the American Red Cross in their mission to make South Florida homes resistant to fires. 4IT will aid in the installation of smoke detectors in local homes to raise awareness on the threat that residential fires pose to Americans.

Dust 01 is one of the first events dedicated to the Miami Burmingman community, the goal is to spread our believes and love through art and music and create a strong bridge to bring local artist to Burningman. We aim to raise funds towards making our next year’s affair extraordinary and to bring local artists together to help us create art that will decorate our camp. Your monetary contributions, more specifically, will help us in the creation of our communal areas including dance floor, sound system, art installations, shower, evaporation systems, kitchen, and lounge area. There will be different mediums and paint provided for you let your creative side shine if you wish. If you are undecided about joining in the dust next year and are just looking to for a good time, you are guaranteed a night of lip-biting music, a carefree atmosphere and meeting fascinating people. Everyone is welcomed.

As part of Tap 42’s commitment to give back to the community, Tap 42 will host a Kickball Tournament on Saturday, October 3rd at Floyd Hull Stadium, located at 2800 SW 8th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315 to benefit PetSet and the Broward Humane Society. The cost is $25 per player, which includes 2 free drinks and light bites. Teams are made up of 10-15 players. All participants must be 21 years of age or older and must sign an event waiver before playing.

One of Miami Beach’s favorite hangouts, Thompson Miami Beach, is celebrating the Fourth of July with a poolside Dirty BBQ. The cookout will be all-American with a Thompson twist, featuring messy favorites from Dale Talde’s Asian-American TALDE restaurant (opening late summer at Thompson), like the famous Kung Pao Chicken Wings with buttermilk ranch (5 for $8 or 10 for $10) and Korean Fried Chicken as a plate (1 pc, $10) or bucket ($25). Signature July 4th BBQ staples like hot dogs and burgers will also be grilled up poolside — with a lengthy list of toppings for guests to make their wieners and burgers as traditional or “dirty” as they like. Side dishes will include a hearty potato salad, grilled corn, baked beans and coleslaw.

BIG BROTHER CASTING CALL TO BE HELD IN MIAMI BEACH
Miami, FL… Big Brother is back in South Beach. On Saturday, March 21st, the casting producer will hold an open casting call for Season 17 of CBS’s popular reality show, Big Brother. Ideal candidates will possess an outgoing, intriguing, and competitive personality. Big Brother’s Season 6 Houseguest, Ashlea Evans will be in attendance. Auditions will take place from 2pm to 5pm at the Siena Tavern, 404 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach.
Big Brother follows a group of strangers living together in a house outfitted with dozens of cameras and microphones that record their every move 24 hours a day, seven days a week. One by one, the House Guests vote each other out of the house until at the end of three months, the last remaining House Guest wins the grand prize of $500,000.
The auditions are open to any U.S. citizen, ages 21 and up, all ethnicities welcome. Competitive, big personalities are a must! Those interested can pre-register by going to http://www.cbs.com/casting.

As far as Fadó Irish Pub is concerned, all revelers who come to their two-day block party are automatically a little Irish! After four years of hosting this party in Miami, it’s safe to say that Fadó is the leading expert on all things Irish. Fadó has planned a whole week of events leading to “St. Practice Day” on Sunday the 15, before the real deal goes down on Tuesday the 17.

Fadó’s “practice run” is aptly named St. Practice Day Festival, and that’s when people get to test their celebrating on Sunday, March 15. The $5 “21+ Party Wristband” gives you access to two banging DJ stages, full bars, multiple beer gardens and the best crowd in Miami on the plaza. On Tuesday March 17, Fadó will open its doors early at 9:00 a.m. with a full brunch menu available until 11:00 a.m. with bottomless mimosas and sangrias! There will be two massive DJ stages in the courtyards of Mary Brickell Village, multiple beer gardens, full bars and Irish dancers.
