Top 10 Recommendations For the “downtown FULL MOON party”
10. Wear comfortable shoes… You will most likely find the rhythm traveling from your head through your soul to your dancing feet.
9. Dress Creatively… Hmmm, this field here is wide open. As implied, use your creativity and step outside of the box! Let’s just say that most of you would need to dig deep in your closet for the most outrageous outfits that you can find, or simply opt to go and shop at a specialty store; Ah, here’s a clue: Think Burning Man!
8. Hula Hoopers… Get two thumbs up! Not only will you get a great mid-section workout by the end of the night, but you will also look very sexy doing it!
7. Drums, Drums, and more Drums… Can’t have enough of them! Bring your drums and let your beats be heard! We invite you to join our drum session which officially kicks off at midnight until your hands cry “No mas!”
6. Got Talent??? This ain’t “America Got Talent”. It’s better than that! In this case, you won’t vie for Fame and Fortune, but instead you are guaranteed happiness and contentment; our continuous quest in life… So, bring your props and come to show everyone what makes you happy and all the while bringing them joy in return.
5. Feeling Knotty? How about a massage… Relax and let our massage therapists give you an ultimate “feel good” back/neck rub to enhance all your senses.
4. Live Music… This month, we are so blessed to have one of Miami’s most prolific bands “Free Like Me” performing at the “downtown FULL MOON party”. As stated on their website: “Free Like Me will take you on a journey of World-Gypsy “rootsy”, acoustic, funconscious sounds! Come to one of their shows to experience their high-energy rhythms, powerful vocals and lyrics, and mesmerizing fire-dancing! Their shows create an environment.”
3. Invite your friends… Repeat, invite your friends!!! Well, it’s simple really! You already know that your friends will have a good time and thank you countless time for inviting them to this awesome party. Now, all you will have to say afterwards is “You owe me one!” But Seriously, we’d greatly appreciate it, if you could buzzz the word about the “downtown FULL MOON party”.
2. Get there early… Not only the “Early birds get the worms”, they also get to Flamenco Dance. We are offering a free Flamenco class followed by a Flamenco routine performed by a couple of top Miami Flamenco dancers. Anyone can participate in the class. You just need to be there early and “Ole!!!”
1. Don’t miss it… As in, if you are not there, you will be missing on the fun and will have to wait another entire month before our next Full Moon event. Come get your spiritual fix!

Brickell Miami, FL

Come and Enjoy. “Ein Prosit!”

Nothing says October like a huge Oktoberfest Celebration. And nobody does it bigger than Brickell’s soon to open German inspired Restaurant and Biergarten . . . Brickell Bier Garden at Central Park Miami! From Thursday, October 6th through Saturday October 8th, this exciting new hotspot will feature a full schedule of food, fun and live music from an authentic Oktoberfest band (mit lederhosen) to a rocking good time with Jamband great Bobby Lee Rogers. It’s fun for the whole family and there is no charge for admission. Central Park Miami is located at 1300 South Miami Avenue in the Brickell area of Miami.

Central Park Miami’s 10,000 Square Foot outdoor space, “The Meadow” will be the site of their huge Oktoberfest celebration. Thursday kicks off with “Dance-toberfest” featuring DJ Drop’d spinning until 2AM. Then Friday it is a true Oktoberfest celebration with the Oktoberfest Band Europa playing all your German favorites until you shout “Ein Prosit” for the last time. Then on Saturday it’s a “Rockin’-toberfest” as Jamband great guitarist Bobby Lee Rogers headlines a day of great tunes. Saturday starts off with Motivational Edge Charity presenting their Young DJ contest winners, followed by a rocking performance by the Cleveland Jones Band and Bobby Lee Closing out the night.

And of course what Oktoberfest celebration would not be complete without food and beer! Brickell Bier Garden will be home for some of the rarest German Beers found on this side of the Atlantic. The featured pour for this Oktoberfest is Radeberger. A great pilsner style brew from an age old brewery that has been making this beverage since the 1800’s.

And come hungry. Brickell Bier Garden’s award-winning, 5-star chef, Abigail Fellows, has put together a taste-tempting menu of Oktoberfest treats and more. Feast on Ale-battered House Pickles; Warm Pretzels w/Bock Beer Mustard; Sausage Rolls w/Dry Cider Kraut; Cider-glazed Pork Ribs; Jacket Potato w/Golden Lager Cheese & Chives; and Porter-braised Brisket Sliders. If you noticed a theme to the menu, think beer!

Central Park Miami is soon to become one of the most talked about dining and drinking destinations in all of South Florida. Scheduled to open in late fall of 2011, in addition to the 10,000 square foot Meadow for outdoor events this huge facility will include the Brickell Bier garden, a Bavarian style Biergarten with a wide selection of rare German brews not found many places in America as well as a variety of Microbrews and other unique beverages. In other words don’t ask for a Bud. It’s embarrassing. The Brickell Bier Garden will also feature a first class German inspired food menu created by Chef Abigail Fellows. Using a host of locally grown and raised products and giving them a unique German and beer infused twist, it will be quite tempting to try everything on the menu. Central Park Miami will also host another unique twist as it will feature a new location of the popular Japanese Restaurant Akashi. This location will feature a wide range of Japanese Sakes as well as delicious sushi and other Japanese treats.

Anthony Bless premieres Your Lover music video 9/15/11

Anthony Bless premieres “Your Lover” music video
Thursday Sept 15, 2011, 8pm
Kyma Lounge (inside the Epic Hotel)
270 Biscayne Blvd
Miami FL 33132

His goal is to be timeless. His motivation is to succeed and to leave the world with an experience that impacts generations. With the release of his new music video “Your Lover”, I invite you to experience Anthony Bless. Join us for a night of VIPs, celebrities, cocktails and music this Thursday September 15th at Kyma Lounge located inside the Epic Hotel in Downtown Miami. Hosted by Venue Magazine and sponsored by Brugal Rum, the red carpet is set to begin at 8pm.

“Your Lover” was written and produced entirely by Anthony Bless and WriteSounds. The song is a story telling adventure about the flirtatious encounter between a man and a woman who have a passionate chemistry from the moment they meet. Miss Cuba Intercontinental 2011, Damaris Aguiar, was cast as Bless’ love interest. The style of the song embodies a fusion of hip hop and soul music, a trait that Bless is well known for in his music style. The end product was made possible by the efforts of Bless and his team at ASK Media Productions and WriteSounds.

Born in New York and raised in Miami, Bless is a loyalist to his art. He is a product of Theater, Acting, Hip Hop, Jazz and Latin music. Not just known for his music, Anthony Bless has been able to display his attributes through projects such as acting on USA network’s ‘Burn Notice” and A&E’s “The Glades”. Most recently Bless landed a role in the new TV show on Starz, Magic City; filming is set to begin at the end of September. Bless also appeared as the lead role in the off-Broadway theater play “Filo Al Fuego / Blade to the Heat” in Miami. He continues to perform at several venues throughout Florida and performed overseas in the Bahamas.

Haimov Jewelers which has accessorized several celebrities such as Paris Hilton, 50 Cent and the Kardashian sisters, provided all the jewelry seen in the video. Located in the heart of downtown, the store was also featured in one of the main scenes of “Your Lover”. The stylish wardrobe worn by Bless and Aguiar in the video was provided by Sebastien James located in Midtown Miami. The white Lamborghini used to cruise down Ocean Drive was provided by Exotic Rentals and will be exhibited outside the Epic Hotel on the night of the premiere for the viewing pleasure of our guests. The spectacular home featured in the video belongs to Venue Magazine editors Herman and Alexia Echevarria, who welcomed Bless and the cast to their home with open arms. A special thanks to all other sponsors who contributed to the making of “Your Lover”: Barry Showcat of WatchBuyers, Tax Consultants and I Am Crossfit.

Photographs of Tobacco Road Ladies Night benefiting Life Is Art with Live Graffiti on 8/10/11

Tobacco Road Ladies Night benefiting Life Is Art with Live Graffiti on Wednesday, August 10, 2011.  Life is Art asked the following artist to paint live at Tobacco Road:     Kaz Williams,  Sean Murdock, Nathan Delinois, Trek Six, Claudio Picasso and Gustavo Ramirez.  The rain stayed away and we had a really good crowd that stayed to watch all of the artist paint their section of the wall.  Had an amazing time!!  If you did not get a chance to come watch them paint the murals, they will be there for a couple of months.

Executive Chef Kareem Anguin of The Oceanaire Seafood Room in Mary Brickell Village will pay homage to his Jamaican roots by featuring Jamaican inspired delicacies on Saturday, August 6th in honor of Jamaica’s Independence Day.

In addition to Oceanaire’s regular dinner menu, specialty items include appetizers such as grilled pineapple and mixed green salad with sour orange vinaigrette, pecans and goat cheese; red stripe steamed P.E.I mussels with scotch bonnet, thyme and Nueske bacon; Island cracked conch fritters with avocado, island slaw and spicy Yuzu Aioli. Entrees include grilled jerked Panamanian black grouper with mango-fig chutney, citrus sweet potatoes and pineapple glaze; pan seared New Bedford sea scallops “Land & Sea” with braised short ribs and pumpkin risotto; and whole fried Key West yellowtail snapper “Escovitch” with scotch bonnet tomato sauce, onions, carrots, rice and peas.

Kareem brings his Caribbean influences to all of his Oceanaire culinary creations including his braised oxtail, short ribs with wasabi mash, lobster risotto, citrus sweet potato, shrimp and grits, and tempura Alaskan-King crab. Humble and un-assuming, Anguin loves to work with teens teaching them how food preparation can be used to inspire creativity and passion. BLP Presents Greenhouse Lounge with Sir Charles at Tobacco Road 7/23/11

BLP Presents…Greenhouse Lounge w/ Sir Charles @ Tobacco Road

Miami, FL 33130

Jacksonville’s Greenhouse Lounge (GHL) is hitting Tampa (Crowbar) and South Florida (Tobacco Road & Pineapple Groove) for three dates, supporting the release of their new album, Right On Time. Merging dub basslines and pumping electronica beats with breakbeat dynamics and some subtle guitar axe-wizardry, GHL’s sound has been described as euphoric. Right On Time, exemplifies the different personas GHL has taken over the years while still focusing on their current style. Featuring a total of 7 songs including “Koto” and other GHL staples, the album release coincided perfectly with their impressive set at this year’s Purple Hatter’s Ball at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park. While multiple genres are touched upon within the album, one theme is current throughout; high energy electronica. The album is available for free on their website and hard copies will be on sale at all of their live shows.

Greenhouse Lounge: Greenhouse Lounge (GHL) is adept at merging rumbling dub basslines with pumping electronica beats, breakbeat dynamics, bright emotional melodies met with smart and staggering sample manipulation, and some subtle guitar axe-wizardry. Their music can been described as euphoric; a hypnotic groove-based sound; tightly woven sonic soundscapes that are rich in melody and texture. Born of the new dawn of live electronica music that almost fuses jam, jazz, funk, breakbeats, as well as live dub step recently. www.GreenhouseLounge.com

Sir Charles: Formerly known as Monozygotik, Charles Weinert has hit milestones many producers only dream to achieve. At the young age of 20, his sound has evolved from a dubstep monster to a far more sophisticated, bass hungry sex beast that thrives on intelligent low end manipulation and melodic over-tones that when meshed with underground and mainstream hip-hop acapellas takes on a life of its own. Playing to sold-out crowds primarily in the southeast and beyond, 2011 is looking to be a huge one for the young prodigy. Charles has shared club gigs with many big players in the electronic game right now including Bassnectar, Big Gigantic, Bonobo, Conspirator, Paper Diamond, RJD2 and more. Recently signing with Eliot Lipp and Old Tacoma Records, Charles is finding himself mentoring under one of his greatest inspirations. Charles will release an EP this Summer, in advance of his dropping his new album this Fall. www.Soundcloud.com/ItsSirCharles

Aquaphonics: Aquaphonics is a uniquely funky electro-soul indie band from South Florida. Derived from friends and jam sessions, Aquaphonics has boasted several different members and worn different skins, yet to this day retains its original, liquid, “Aquaboogie Sound.” The band is comprised of founding members, Jessiah Weston (drums/vocals) and Alan Martinki (keys), who have been melding their music since 2000, along with dynamic guitarist/vocalist Steve Elmore. Their edgy grooves and inspired song writing as demonstrated in their hit cult classics ‘Waiting for It’ and ‘Spooky Beats,’continues evolving and has recently earned them spots supporting Perpetual Groove and The New Mastersounds and a set at Bear Creek Music & Arts Festival. www.aqupahonicsband.com

DJ Craig Heneveld: Sliding his way into the innovative electronic artists coming out of the South is producer and DJ, Craig Heneveld. Craig combines a diligent work ethic in the studio with a passion for igniting the dance floor. Highlights of his career include opening for acts such as Mark Farina, EOTO, Perpetual Groove, BoomBox, Pnuma Trio as well as performing at Underground Sound 5, Trinumeral 2010 and Aura 2010. He is a set break staple for the freshest up and coming acts in the “jam-tronica” scene such as The Malah, Ep3 and Papadosio. If there’s a national jam-tronica act coming through southern Florida, chances are Craig will also be on the bill. Craig’s digital releases can be found under New York Dance music label SYSTEM RECORDINGS which include: Then There Was Single, DEEP LIFT EP, and Dig This EP. Other remixes include: Excess (RPO on Pure Perception Records), a remix of the theme from The Taking of Pelham and a remix of Malah’s track “Yorokobu” (free download). www.DJCraigHeneveld.com

Heineken and Fabrika present: Electropico • The New Sounds Of Latin Electronica Summer Edition A Night Strictly Designed to Dance!
Presenting: Direct from Colombia for the first time in the USA El Freaky, Bogota’s Hottest DJ/VJ Collective & Party
Miami’s own Mr Pauer (Electropical / World Dance)
Afro Kumbe (Locos Por Juana DJ Set)
Elastic Bond (Tropical / Lounge / Electronica)
Minimal (Electro / Rock / Experimental)

After a very successful ELECTROPICO event during WMC 2011, Fabrika & Heineken pair up once again to repeat the uplifting experience of showcasing the new sounds of Latin electronica once again.

Miami will have the chance to see top acts merge their sound under one roof to share what they are working on and the way they adopt technology and mix it with their roots as a rebirth of a new sound that uplifts the Latin culture.

El Freaky is Bogota’s hottest DJ/VJ collective that has been throwing parties for over a year showcasing acts like ChocQuibTown, ZZK, Bomba Estereo, Sabo, Uproot Andy and has shared the stage with artists like Calle 13 and Sean Paul.
Their sound mixes Dancehall, Cumbia, Reggae, Tropical Bass and Hip Hop Latino.

Mr. Pauer is one of the hardest working DJ/Producer from Miami. His recent release “Soundtrack” has taken him to cities like Bogota, Cali, Medellin, Manizales, Caracas, Brooklyn, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Atlanta in less than 2 months. His song “Cumbión Del Sur” was selected as “Download of the Week” by iTunes USA & Mexico. He will be representing Miami at Central Park Summer Stage this year along with Novalima, Jarabe de Palo and Ely Guerra.

Afro Kumbe is the DJ project for Latin Grammy Nomenees’ Locos Por Juana. This mashup band is taking over the city mixing an array of Latin American rhythms with a more electronic groove.

Elastic Bond is Miami’s own Latin Lounge gem. Their style represents a sexy and seductive city where the rhythm of Bossa, Salsa, Electro, Trip Hop and House blends with Sofi’s silky voice creating a rich and danceable atmosphere. They will also be performing at this year’s LAMC in New York the week of July 6-9.

Minimal is synonimous of evolution. This band has known each other since high school and evolved from doing Latin Rock to understanding and adopting the new sounds of rock mixing electronic beats, computers, controllers and sequenced keys with live drums, guitars and bass improving their sound to the next level. They will be releasing “Antibalas Corazon” in the next months promising a groundbreaking point for this band that deserves international exposure.

5 $$ Tequila Shot and Corona Special and also 5 $ Glass of Wine STILL NO COVER AND FREE PARKING

Everyone i am back and happy to say that Wednesday the 15th will make WORDS AND WINE ONE YEAR OLD. Kinda seems a lot older. This past year has been filled with soooo much beauty and chaos (but everyone loves a little chaos)…

Words & Wine gallery is not open as of yet but one thing is for sure. Wed the 15th we are celebrating Words & Wine. If you have any suggestions where we can hold the event on the 15th please contact me.

As many of you know this event started in my living room and actually has been back and forth since then. We enjoyed having the event at the American Legion but that was shut down. Even with all the up’s and downs…Words & Wine always prevails.

Let’s once again get together, drink some wine, share some thoughts and be happy. Read poetry, play acoustic instruments and make plenty of art. Poets, musicians, listeners, dancers, thinkers: you are all more than welcome to join. Let’s start a nice mid week gathering where we can have an experimental more laid back kind of open mic. ♥ ♥ ♥

Let’s jam loud and speak about poetry all night. I want to thank everyone who has made Words & Wine so amazing. Would love to have some original poets and performers play this Wednesday the 15th.

When Chef Allen closed the doors to his namesake restaurant, fans near and far were in disbelief. Where would we be able to visit this much loved chef — one of the original members of the Mango Gang — and would he really be gone from the South Florida restaurant scene? Well, we’ve found him and convinced him to host our wine club at his newest venture — Brickell Bridge Bistro & Bar.

Join us for our next Miami Happy Hour event at Brickell Bridge Bistro & Bar located at the 500 block of Brickell (across from the Viceroy). This brand new restaurant offers a creative bistro style menu with Italian, Latin and European flavors; boasts an energetic restaurant & lounge area; and offers easy access to 95. With all of these elements in place and being that it is the new home to Chef Allen Susser — formerly of Chef Allen’s — who has received such accolades as one of the 10 best chefs in America by Food and Wine Magazine and James Beard Award winner, this place will soon be booming.

Join us and be one of the first to find out what Chef Allen has been up to, and to check out his new place.

Dip Into Summer: Four Seasons Miami Pool Party Returns

Pool parties are a summer staple, but few come with Four Seasons service and style. Starting June 4, 2011, the Hotel will host the city’s most sophisticated Saturday poolside extravaganzas featuring eclectic, high energy music and signature amenities such as Evian spritzes, cool towels and butler-passed frozen treats.

This season, the Hotel will debut a caipirinha cart, a very grown up version of the ice-cream cart, dispensing $7 Leblon caipirinhas made to order chaise-side. In addition, The Boutique at Sports Club/LA will host poolside modeling of swimwear by bikini flavors. Entrance is available with a Saturday $25 pool pass. Cabana packages are available at $150 and include use of a cabana by 4 people, mineral water, fruit platter and one cocktail per person. Reservations are recommended as space is limited. For reservations, call 305-381-3037on weekdays or 305-381-3190 on weekends.

A destination in its own right, the 2-acre pool terrace at Four Seasons Miami has been described by The New York Times as “a grown-up alternative to the more raucous South Beach scene across the bay.” In addition to a main pool and whirlpool surrounded by cabanas, the terrace features the Palm Grove wading pool

Already a staple of the Brickell summer and popular with the young crowd of members at The Sports Club/La, the pool parties are a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon in style. In addition, to Brazilian libations, guests will enjoy a menu of signature small bites and cocktails served throughout the day.

Ponte La Camiseta by Latin US Unites with Major Celebrities for its Official Launch that Promises Health and Welfare for Children in Need

With the turn of the century, statistical evidence has shown the valuable asset Latinos add to U.S. society’s advancement. Behind this enriched cultural contribution, a need to highlight the consistent development in the political, economic and social areas, has surfaced. In response, “Ponte la Camiseta (Wear the Shirt) by Latin US” will launch its campaign on June 2nd, 2011.

Ponte la Camiseta by Latin US will celebrate its launch and celebrity video/photos unveiling with a star-studded and insiders-only function at the posh Spazio Nero Brickell, located at 1421 South Miami Avenue in the downtown Miami, on June 2nd, 2011 from 9:00 to 11:00pm. Surrounded by its modern Venetian styled décor and always inviting atmosphere, guests will enjoy complimentary and custom-made Caipirinhas by Leblon Cachaça and cocktails by L’Chaim Kosher Vodka in order to toast this wonderful occasion. In addition, Marger will perform her new single “Efectos Secundarios/Secondary Effects,” written and produced by Marger, Erika Ender and Fernando Rojo, exclusively for this campaign.

Ponte la Camiseta by Latin US is a philanthropic campaign that hopes to offer humanitarian support, monetary assistance and public awareness to five global charities, while creating a lifestyle that positively promotes Latino’s spirit and culture. The purpose of Ponte la Camiseta by Latin US campaign is to come together not only to express, in a collective front, Latino’s talent within the United States, by honoring and celebrating their efforts, but also to promote a fashionable outlet to gather valuable funds. Therefore, starting June 2nd, 2011, Ponte la Camiseta by Latin US t-shirts will be available for purchase at www.pontelacamisetabylatinus.org. Its 9 cotton t-shirts styles, each with their particular encouraging message, will be for sale to the public online only. Its proceeds will go to help aid charities as Rayito de Sol (Colombia) [www.fundacionrayitodesol.org], Educa (Mexico) [www.educa.org.mx] United for Bolivia (Bolivia) www.unitedforbolivia.com, NU3 (Colombia) www.nu3.org.co, RCMA (United States) www.rcma.org and the Movement Saving the Planet with Style. The campaign promises to offer 100% of the earnings from its online t-shirts sales to help Hispanic children in the areas of health care, education, food and nutrition through these global organizations. By several online sources presently available, including a video, a behind the scenes introduction photo shoot through the magical lens of Nick Garcia and powerful social networks via Facebook@Ponte-la-Camiseta-By-Latin-US,Twitter@PLCbyLatinUS. Ponte la Camiseta by Latin US hopes to be able to transmit a positive message while showcasing a wonderful cause.

“Anyone and everyone will be able to help millions of defenseless children that struggle every day, to bring a little sunshine into their lives. Through Ponte la Camiseta by Latin US, we are encouraging the public to put on the shirt and help those in need.” shares Fashion Box Studio Creative Director and inspirational creator of Ponte la Camiseta by Latin US, Elias Maida. “Ponte la Camiseta by Latin US campaign is a past due debt that society has with the Hispanic community. Backed by our efforts and hard work, we hope to remind the U.S. public to recognize and celebrate the talent, work, effort, values and spirit, Latinos are constantly incorporating into this country.” states Latin US President, Carlos Rincon Gallardo.

This project would not be possible thanks to each and every single individual that believed in the limitless possibilities that Ponte la Camiseta by Latin US will bring to many. Each and every one of these talents has volunteered their time and skills to the matter. First and foremost, Ponte la Camiseta by Latin US collective front relies heavily in the valuable collaboration of outstanding Latin celebrities in the United States. This group is created by fifteen acclaimed celebrities as: Vanessa Hauc (Peruvian Host), Sonia Velásquez (Colombian Host), Mónica Noguera (Mexican Host), Maritza Rodriguez (Colombian Actress), Cynthia Olavarria (Puerto Rican Model), Marger (Venezuelan Singer), Gaby Rivero (Mexican Actress), David Chocarro (Argentinean Actor), Melvin Cabrera (Venezuelan Actor), Jason Canela (Cuban-American Actor), Leonardo Corredor (Venezuelan Actor), Quique Usales (Argentinean, TV fashion consultant), Leonardo Rocco (Argentinean Hair Stylist), Paulo Quevedo (Mexican Actor) y Humberto Carrera (Mexican Host).

Fadó Irish Pub And Restaurant 80’s theme Pub Quiz 5/17/11

Fadó Irish Pub And Restaurant Plays Up Pub Quiz With New Themes
Tuesday, May 17th, 9 p.m. to midnight
Every Tuesday
Fadó Irish Pub and Restaurant
900 South Miami Avenue
Miami, FL 33130

Boddingtons, Boxtys and Brains – some just have it all!

Bringing a 40-year-old European gaming tradition to Mary Brickell Village, Fadó Irish Pub and Restaurant has injected yet another dose of pub culture in Miami. Every Tuesday night, Fadó Irish Pub and Restaurant hosts a weekly pub quiz tournament to test guests’ trivia knowledge and compete against other teams for a variety of prizes offered throughout the night — and to take home the title of pub quiz champion!

On Tuesday, May 17th, Fado introduces a new theme to game night… the 80’s. Guests will need to brush up on their knowledge of Cyndi Lauper, 16 Candles and scrunchies as questions will test their knowledge of pop culture from the 1980’s.

Upon arrival, guests receive a pamphlet of answer sheets to set up teams for eight rounds of trivia. After each round of 10 questions, sheets are brought back up to a designated scorer who tallies up correct answers per each team and inputs them into a spreadsheet that is displayed on one of the pubs flat-screens so teams know their standing after each set. For round winners, a bonus question is offered by the “quiz master” to the top three teams for the opportunity to win additional points or prizes. At the end of the last round, a final tally totaling all of the scores from each round is conducted to determine the quiz victors and to reveal their ultimate prize. To make the game even more challenging, all electronic devices are prohibited from the pub quiz area to keep from having easy access to answers.

In between each round, guests enjoy music courtesy of the pub’s onsite DJ from 8 p.m. to midnight, and take advantage of Fadó’s extensive European draught beer selection including Boddingtons Pub Ale, Harp, Smithwick’s, Hoegaarden, as well as a variety of imported bottled beers, whiskey and scotch offerings, domestic wines and signature cocktails. Guests are also invited to pair their “liquid courage” with some delicious bites from Fadó’s dinner menu as the full menu will be available until midnight and offers tempting options such as the Guinness BBQ Wings, Smithwick’s Mini Burgers, Fish and Chips, Pulled Lamb Sandwich, Smoked Salmon Bites, Cheese Dip and Wedges and more.

Grand Opening of Kyma Lounge 4/29/11

The Grand Opening Of Kyma In Downtown Marks A New Standard In South Florida
Friday, April 29,, 2011 from 6:30PM-9:00PM
Kyma Lounge inside the Epic Hotel & Residences
270 Biscayne Boulevard Way
Miami, FL 33131
RSVP Required: gpineres@creativasgroup.com.

Guests can expect an evening filled with VIPs, celebrities, cocktails, and music as Kyma Lounge plans to take the Miami nightlife scene by storm.

Kyma Lounge is ready to unveil itself with their much awaited grand opening April 29,, 2011. The grand opening represents a breath of fresh air for local Miami professionals as Kyma Lounge is ramping up to be Downtown’s go to spot for the movers and shakers that shape the Magic City. Kyma will represent Miami’s dynamic cultural make up as it borrows hints of Spanish and Italian bar/lounge concepts to make this a truly unique concept in South Florida. The new spot will open this month.

Located in the Epic Hotel and Residences in Downtown, Kyma Lounge represents what the outgoing professional deserves and expects in South Florida. Kyma Lounge is geared to be the “it spot” in Miami Downtown nightlife as it sits ideally situated on the Miami River with a breathtaking view. The structure originally designed by nationally renowned Telesco & Associates, the chic lounge boasts 30ft ceilings, LED lighting, circular bar, flat screen TVs, custom lighting fixtures and custom lounge furniture. The second floor which features its own bar boasts a more intimate setting. One of the elements that set Kyma Lounge apart is that guests can arrive either by car or boat which makes Kyma an ideal pit stop for cocktails if boating in the downtown area. The outdoor terrace/dock is the perfect spot to enjoy cocktails and bites while appreciating Miami’s most impressive high-rises that flank the Miami River. Aside from offering a great happy hour and after hours get away Kyma will offer menu items to sooth the appetites of Miami’s most demanding foodies.

Kyma Lounge’s menu options are based around the Spanish Pintxos and Tapas concept. Not to be confused with the Latin American “pinchos,” the Spanish Pintxos are typical in the Basque region of Spain and are usually eaten in bars or taverns as a small snack while socializing; thus, they have a strong socializing component, and they are usually regarded as a cornerstone of Basque Culture and Society. Pintxo are related to Tapas but are usually larger and have a spike “Pintxo” driven through them. This concept fits in perfectly for the professional who is looking to close a business deal over drinks while pleasing his/her palate in a casual yet refined setting. Kyma Lounge will also be open in the mornings to cater to those who would like to overlook the soothing water ways while sipping on an espresso and nibbling on a pastry or croissant to start the work day. As the Sun goes down Miami’s night life takes off and Kyma Lounge will be in lock step with Miami’s ever changing dynamic nightlife scene.

Kyma Lounge plans to offer night life programing to rival and go above and beyond anything in the downtown area. Located inside the high end Epic Hotel and residences and sharing the building with other award winning entities Kyma Lounge is looking to cater to an upscale and sophisticated clientele who is looking for exclusivity when enjoying the infamous Miami nightlife. Kyma Lounge will offer a unique cocktail list including a one-of-a kind signature martini list. Delicious bites, great music, surrounded by beauty, Kyma Lounge is ready to set a new standard in Miami. Conveniently located on the mainland, this visually-captivating space will cater to the active professional, corporate and social scene.

Youth Expressions Happy Hour at Blue Martini 3/2/11

Youth Expressions Happy Hour
Wednesday, March 2 at 7pm
Blue Martini

Michael Rosenfeld, founded an organization 11 years ago named, Youth Expressions. www.yeflow.org
The purpose of Youth Expressions is two-fold, to help at-risk youth develop the skills needed to realize their full potential and educate these individuals in HIV prevention and awareness.

Did you know….
-Florida is the 3rd state with the highest number of HIV/AIDS cases in the U.S. (After New York and California)
-Miami-Dade ranks number 1 in the number of HIV/AIDS cases in Florida and Broward County ranks 2nd.

You may ask how does this affect you….
The HIV prevention program that Youth Expressions created is on the forefront to win the fight on HIV in a community desperately in need. The participants come from the areas of Miami with the highest rates of HIV transmission in the country and these areas border the areas where we live and work.

Wednesday, March 2 come out to Blue Martini at 7pm to support the work he is doing with these teenagers. There will be performances by the talented teens themselves.

Donation $30 at the door.
· Pay in advance for a discounted rate of $25 on the Youth Expressions web site: www.yeflow.org
