Cheerleading Hopefuls & Members Bring their A-Game to Make the Squad

WHO/WHAT: Calling all cheerleader hopefuls! Equinox Aventura and South Beach have partnered with the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders to host audition prep classes for two days in April. Equinox offers a sneak peek into the day and the life of cheerleading camp, where members (complimentary) and non-members (auditions cost $20) have the chance to tryout for South Florida’s hottest squad and score take-home fitness tips!

Taught by Miami Dolphins cheerleaders, the 60-minute class will focus on stretching, across the floor techniques and 4 eight-counts of choreography. With try-out dates fast approaching, there is limited time for candidates to tighten up before the rigorous training program The judges are looking for sharp, well-placed motions, enthusiasm and routine knowledge.

From the high V to the low V to the goal post and more, candidates will learn the essential cheerleading positions and how to perfectly hit their motions and angles. Gear up, bring confidence but most importantly, show your crowd appeal and skills to prove you have what it takes to become the next Miami Dolphins Cheerleader!

You won’t be able to resist the incredible chocolate delicacies at Aventura Mall when the mall hosts its first ever Chocolate Festival. Local bakeries, restaurants, marketplaces and hotels will be on hand offering tempting chocolate morsels with proceeds from this delicious benefit going directly to the Children’s Craniofacial Association. The event is the creation of Chef Rick Chiavari of Porto Vita and Aventura Mall. Chef Rick’s nephew was born with a rare facial deformity, and he was moved by the care and support the CCA provided for his nephew and his family. Chef Rick felt compelled to lend his support to the non-profit organization and, together with Aventura Mall and CCA, put together the Chocolate Festival.
