Step into the future and discover the exciting innovations transforming our world with Cities of the Future, now playing in the AutoNation® IMAX® 3D Theater at the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS). Narrated by award-winning actor John Krasinski, Cities of the Future highlights the creative solutions engineers are designing right now to meet the challenges of a changing world and forge a brighter, more sustainable future.

From electric flying cars and aerial highways to smart buildings, greener infrastructure and solar power beamed from space, Cities of the Future offers an inspiring vision of how we will live 50 years from now, combining state-of-the-art CGI with live-action cinematography. The film also looks at modern urban landscapes in the midst of transformation, revealing profound changes already happening in some of the world’s greatest cities, from Los Angeles to Amsterdam to Singapore.

Cities of the Future also introduces viewers to a team of middle school students participating in the Future City Competition, an annual contest where 60,000 middle school students from the U.S. and around the world compete to create a model future city.

Cities of the Future is produced by MacGillivray Freeman Films in partnership with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the same team that created the blockbuster giant screen documentary Dream Big: Engineering Our World.
