The crew at Hand Rolled: A Film About Cigars will be joining Prime Cigar and Whiskey Bar for the evening to promote their new project about the premium cigar world. Join the directors, Jesse Marriut and Steve Gherebean, to watch a trailer of the film, which details how master rollers have perfected their craft, along with helping viewers understand what goes into the cigar experience. Patrons will also have to opportunity to speak with the directors personally and if interested, contribute towards the completion of the project.

Foundation Cigar Company has been behind the project since the inception and they are partnering with Hand Rolled to generate exposure and support for the film. Sampler packs from their factory will be for sale with a voucher for a digital download of the film when it’s completed. Several raffles will be conducted throughout the night and the proceeds of that and the sampler packs will be donated to the project.

Being a Saturday night, guests can enjoy the usual Prime environment including live music and great cocktails.

On February 28th at Ball & Chain, HAVANA CLUB rum will host the first-ever, private showing of the “Amparo” performance in Miami.

HAVANA CLUB rum recently launched its “Forever Cuban” campaign to uphold the authenticity of the rum’s Cuban heritage and assert its rightful place as the original HAVANA CLUB rum. To further affirm HAVANA CLUB rum as “Forever Cuban,” the brand is tapping into its heritage and retelling the story behind the original creators of the renowned rum with an immersive theatrical experience, aptly titled “Amparo.”

“Amparo” will transform attendees into travelers, complete with Cuban visas and travel guides, and transport them to the truth of the HAVANA CLUB story, beginning in pre-revolution Cuba in 1957 and concluding in modern day Miami. It is a story of industry and innovation, tragedy and betrayal, redemption and reclamation that many Cuban exiles have faced.

Along the journey, travelers will experience pivotal moments in the Arechabala family story that have defined the exiled rum brand. These emotionally charged scenes will unveil, for the first time, not only the injustices that the Cuban regime performed against the Arechabala family, but also the family’s long legacy. A legacy that the government tried to erase, but which history has recorded.

Most importantly, travelers will follow Ramon Arechabala, who managed to take his family’s rum recipe with him, out of Cuba. Ramon shared that recipe, along with the Arechabala family’s legacy, with Bacardi to ensure a future for what his family had made and what had been stolen from them. With “Amparo,” Bacardi is committed to honoring that legacy.

For the past 10 years, 3x JUNO Award nominees and triple Canadian Folk Music Award winners Sultans of String have thrilled audiences with their global sonic tapestry of Gypsy-jazz, Spanish Flamenco, Celtic, Arabic folk, and Cuban rhythms, celebrating musical fusion and human creativity with warmth and virtuosity.

They’ve been celebrating this milestone decade of music-making with a digital and vinyl release, aptly titled ’10’ (featuring re-mastered cuts from their 6-CD catalogue).

Folk Radio UK recently described their music as “an enthralling, adventurous celebration of the power music has to transcend geographical and cultural boundaries, and Sultans of String wield that power with grace, eloquence and spirit.” Indeed ’10’, is more than a global sonic tapestry. It is a musical promise that embraces differences while finding common ground across culture, land, and time. While the album treks across all kinds of musical terrain, the fertile soil beneath each track is fed by hope unhindered and freedom found.

At the core of the band’s sound is Queen’s Diamond Jubilee recipient Chris McKhool’s fiery fiddle, melded seamlessly with founding guitarist Kevin Laliberté’s (Jesse Cook) rumba rhythm. Together their musical synergy create Sultans of String’s signature sound – the intimate and playful relationship between violin and guitar. We have two fantastic entertainment shows Friday – Saturday. First dinner seating is at 7:30 pm and our second seating is at 10:30 pm. Doors open at 7:00 pm for cocktails and general admission. We have two live music and entertainment shows Friday – Saturday. First dinner seating is at 8:00 pm and our second seating is at 11:00 pm. Doors open at 7:30 pm for cocktails and general admission. Dinner reservation guests should arrive promptly and with all guests in attendance prior to being seated. We have a 15 minute maximum hold time for all table reservations. A Credit Card is held for all reservations. 24hr cancellation policy. $50 per person charge for no-shows.

DINNER & RESERVATIONS

Our sharable prix-fixe menu is $85. Dinner reservations include all items listed in the menu paired with our spectacular Tucán show followed by a live band. Beverages are separate.

The menu includes a variety of savory dishes and chef’s selection for dessert. The Chef updates our menu often, to provide a range in your dining experience.

PLEASE NOTE:

There are two shows Friday and Saturday. Guests in first dinner seating have the table for only the first show. After the first show, the table will be turned over to new guests arriving for the last show. We welcome first show dinner guests to continue the night at the Bar and in standing room. Guests in the second dinner seating may keep their table for the duration of the evening.

LATE NIGHT

Our second half of programming for the evening begins at 1:30am. Enjoy pulsating tropical rhythms fused with a variety of electronic music by local to international DJs, coupled with live percussion.

Basel House Mural Fest To Become the Epicenter Of Street Art During Art Basel
40+ Murals, 60+ Artists, FREE Concerts, Food Trucks & More

The RC Cola Plant and surrounding Wynwood neighborhood will become the “epicenter of the graffiti world” during Basel House Mural Festival. Over the course of four days, there will be 40+ mural projects and 60+ top street artists from across the globe painting large murals across six city blocks in Wynwood Art District, including a digital arts and VR playground that will bring art to life. The FREE block party will offer live painting, unique art installations, live music, late-night DJs, artists, a vendor market, and food trucks. In addition, you can watch the creation process of the first mural in Wynwood to be painted by a robot designed by engineers from the University of Florida, and/or take part in Street Skool, where you can join panel discussions, workshops & networking sessions with industry peers.

Basel House is designed to be inclusive of all artists and people. It will unite top Miami Street Artists with those from across the globe and present them before an international audience of 80,000 people.

Basel House will feature a collection of art & craft vendors alongside purveyors of culture & lifestyle brands. In addition to a selection of Miami’s best food trucks,
Basel House will offer a zone of MUST Instagram dessert vendors that are either visually artistic or gargantuan; anything from outrageous ice cream toppings, naughty cupcakes, giant milkshakes, hipster donuts and mouthwatering fillings. And because hip art and eclectic music go together, Basel House will reveal a schedule of live musical performances offering a nightly musical lineup of bands and DJ’s. On Friday, October 27th, Doheny Room, the swanky lounge tucked away inside the iconic Delano hotel, will host Dead Centerfolds – a Tribute party to Hugh Hefner and Playboy. Guests can expect surprise acts and live performers and are encouraged to come dressed to impress this evening! Then on Saturday, October 28th, Doheny will transform into the Ball of the Dead – a speakeasy with a deadly twist. Come celebrate the decade of glamour, prohibition, and cabarets with the dead all evening long starting at 10pm.

DELANO BEACH CLUB à FDR
On Sunday, October 29th, prepare yourself to bury the sun at the best Halloween pool party of Miami at Delano Beach Club’s Sunset Funeral. From 2pm-11pm dance to the rhythm of the biggest beats of electronic music by Miami resident DJ ALOK during this spook-tacular event. After the pool party fun, guests are invited to continue their ghostly night of Hallow’s Eve shenanigans at FDR for their Halloween Weekend After party featuring secret spooky guest DJ’s from 11pm-late.

The space itself will be transforming itself into “That 70’s Bar” paying homage to the era of disco, sparing no detail in its frightening décor. To kick off the weekend of spooky celebrations, Sweet Liberty will be getting into the Halloween spirit early and host a live performance by local sensation Patrick and the Swayzes and music spun by DJ Reid Waters along with serving fang-tastic cocktails to sip on Friday, October 27.
