Photographs of the Pool Boy Pool Girl Competition at the Clevelander Marlins Stadium

This past weekend we had the privilege of attending an awesome competition that involved, twerking, swimsuits, beer pong, liquor and laughter otherwise referred to as just another day at The Clevelander at Marlins Park. We were asked to judge the Pool Boy and Pool Girl Competition and had an absolute blast. The Clevelander opened up a location at the Marlins Stadium, where fans can eat awesome food, drink, swim in the pool and get up close and personal with the sexy Marlin Energy Team. On any given day, you will experience in professional body painting, a kickass DJ and… oh ya,  a baseball game too. ;-)  The hopeful Pool Boys and Girls had to compete in aquatic baseball fetch, beer pong, interviews and a dance contest to win the crowns.  Allison and Corey pictured below in their victor robes earned the coveted titles. We loved this spot and will definitely be back to participate in more fun shenanigans.

Mount Gay Rum had a party at the Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne two nights ago. I was in attendance with one of my friends and bumped into a few notable names. Let’s start with my bosses from Soul of Miami, James and Annette. James only wanted to know if I could be backup with the pics since his camera is on the fritz. I’ve got you covered, James!

No rum event is complete without an appearance by Rob Burr, and this was no exception. Rob let us know that this new Black Barrel Rum was a return to fine Barbados rum from a distiller that has a long history doing just that.  Oh, and the rum was really good too.

Fadil El Ghould A.K.A. R3hab, firmly established his name in the Dutch dance scene. After the popular remix of Chuckie’s “Toys Are Nuts” Rehab rapidly gained support from DJ’s worldwide. The track “MRKRSTFT” became a huge club hit and was featured on the 2008 Sensation White CD. After making successful remixes for the likes of Chuckie, Chris Lake, Laidback Luke, Hi_Tack, Sharam, Rene Amesz and Gregor Salto, it was inevitable that Rehab would show his face on larger events like Fame=DJ’s, Dirty Dutch, Rocksteady and one of Holland’s biggest dance festivals; Mysteryland. R3hab just released a track entitled “Blue Magic” on Chris Lake’s label Rising Music which he produced together with his studio buddy Hardwell. In 2009 he hooked up with another pair of famous Dutch DJ/producers Koen Groeneveld and Addy van der Zwan, resulting in a release called “Purple Lightsaber”on Koen’s highly respected Technolabel _aBZOluT. Iceland’s small batch Reyka Vodka is proud to celebrate the 2013 summer solstice with a three-part South Beach celebration, turning the longest day of the year into the longest night, in honor of the 24-hour sunshine over its native land.

Festivities throughout the city will be held at:
The Broken Shaker at Freehand Miami
Start the night with a laid-back bonfire featuring with S’mores and Spanish acoustic set by Jean Espiritusanto. Japanese lanterns, bamboo tiki torches and a hand-cut ice block for cocktails will set the tone for this relaxed rendezvous. Guests will focus on the peaceful nature of Iceland while enjoying $6 Reyka specials and punch bowl feature.
Time: 5 to 9 p.m.

This Saturday night! Join us at MOVA South Beach for their Absolut Outrageous Masterpiece party. 50 Artists were selected nation wide and commissioned by Absolut Vodka to produce a 4 foot tall bottle sculpture depicting a specific Absolut signature cocktail. Artist Carl Pascuzzi was paired with MOVA and the Absolut Cosmopolitan to design his Absolut Outrageous Masterpiece entry titled “Swimming in the Cosmic Cosmos.” Sultry sounds of DJ VButterfly will fill the room and provide movement to the sound activated bottle. Expect plenty of Absolut surprises and drink specials but most importantly support Miami in the National competition by voting on the Absolut Outrageous Facebook page for Carl Pascuzzi’s interactive design.
Voting ends June 30th 2013.

The Shore Club Miami, LHB Group, & Wynstar Worldwide proudly announces a Celebrity Mix & Mingle for a Cause. The cocktail reception themed benefit will allow guest to brush shoulders with industry elite in efforts to raise funding, increase awareness, and promote volunteer outreach on behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami. “We are delighted that Mr. Alonso is dedicating his time & energy to help us spread the word of the importance of mentorship in our communities” Says Aimee Ariola, BBBS Senior Director of Strategic Events.

MOMM Organization in conjunction with Sustainatopia bring you “Models 4 Sustainability” at Shore Club’s Skybar on Friday, April 19th

For a special On The Radar Friday, Sustainatopia 2013 and Shore Club present Models 4 Sustainability Friday April 19th at 9PM to support ECOMB and Urban GreenWorks, two local environmental organizations working to protect Flagler Monument Island. Models 4 Sustainability is launching a new project to help restore Flagler Monument Island as an ecological, educational, recreational and historical resource for Miami Beach. Mayor Bower along with Commissioner Michael Gongora will be accepting a check for $25K from an anonymous donor to the City of Miami Beach for the Conservancy of Monument Island. The big check presentation will take place at 9:30pm.

Skybar at Shore Club will feature beats by DJ Alex Butler and DJ Spencer Gordon. Stunning Latin celebrities from Vida Miami TV will host and help promote building community awareness and raising funds to implement the vision of a Monument Island Conservancy Plan. A percentage of the night’s proceeds will benefit ECOMB and Urban GreenWorks and models will be on hand with easy info on how to donate directly to the organizations.
