KRIS STARRY www.starrynightphotography.net
Starry Night Photography was created in late 2009. Her forte is capturing impromptu moments of time, moments of love, and moments of joy. She prefers to maintain her distance to capture natural shots, but will be happy to gently guide you when another angle or better light would be more dramatic or flattering. Her second goal is for you to have fun, because she feels pictures don’t turn out well if you’re not having a good time. Her love of natural lighting leads her to use outdoor and other on-location settings, and she chooses her shooting locations to best match your personality. Let Kris Starry of Starry Night Photography capture and preserve your emotions and memories on your special occasion for not only your lifetime, but for those of generations to come.
EMILY PETERS www.PiazJewelry.com
I’ve been designing Jewelry for over 11 years and opened Piaz Jewelry – a subsidiary of E Apparel – in 2009. Every exceptional and playful piece is handmade by me for remarkable women. When I design jewelry for Piaz, I gravitate toward a modern, frenetic, and striking aesthetic. The Earrings, Necklaces, and Bracelets are constructed from Fine Silver, Sterling Silver and 14K Gold Filled Wire and Chain, glass and metal beads, and Semi-Precious Stones.
Piaz aims to be a source of inspiration – known for its quality, trend-forward products, as well as its social responsibility. The company champions sustainable business practices. We produce according to customer demand, and we reduce, reuse, and recycle whenever possible. Some of the elements of the Piaz jewelry collections are reclaimed from other jewelry pieces. Each piece is delivered in a handmade bag stitched (by me) from vintage materials and shipped in recycled boxes.
On August 20th, Vintage Liquor & Wine Bar with a tremendous Grand Opening Party. The events featured a live show from South Beach DJ and Drummer, Javier Sansbury as well as an aerial dancer. Food was catered by Mercadito Midtown and stylish signature cocktails. One cocktail that I really must give 5 stars is the pineapple mojito. It was delish.
Among friends and family in attendance giving their support, Mayor Tomas Regalado along with State Representative Julio Robaina made their presence to toast a well deserved welcoming into the neighborhood. The Mayor of Miami was part of the ribbon cutting ceremony with the Bamos family.
Mercadito’s delicious guacamole along with the shrimp appetizers made a great treat for the night. Inside, champagne and cocktails were being served and outside, rows of vodka bars and wine sampling were the call of the evening. All in all, it was a great night in Midtown Miami.
Vintage Liquor & Wine Bar is located at 3301 NE 1st Avenue, Suite 105, Miami, FL 33137
On August 19, Lexus sponsored a cooking demonstration event featuring renowned chefs Michelle Bernstein and Douglas Rodriguez. The evening started with a cocktail reception featuring wine tasting and appetizers. Since the event was held at the Building 4141 in the Design District, it served a great venue to host a party of this magnitude. As one entered the building, you were greeted by lovely dressed hostess who directed you to the wine tasting bar. After a sip of wine, one could get a glimpse of the Lexus automobiles showcase. The galleries that were house at the 4141 building opened their doors to the guest for their viewing enjoyment.
Michelle Bernstein began the cooking demonstration on how to create Shrimp Tiradito, a Peruvian inspired dish. It involved shrimp of course, aji amarillo, huancaina (yellow cheese sauce), and lastly a bit of her favorite popcorn. Samples were giving out and it was delish.
Douglas Rodriguez gave a good cooking demonstration of ceviche; another Peruvian dish. He demonstrated the ingredients and its secret key to cook it in: lime. Also he emphasized that when the fish changes color it meant that all the bacteria is killed. It was easy for him to make since the dish is always served raw. Samples were passed around and it was a delectable dish.
As the evening came to a close, Lexus goody bags were given to the guests as their good bye gifts. A wonderful event enjoyed by all.

I have to say that you can find the best places to eat in the most unlikely places.  Rik Rak is a upscale full service salon with a little cafe.  They serve beer, wine, Prosecco, pasta, sandwiches and a lot more.  I ordered the tomato basil soup with a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato.  This was the best tomato basil soup I have ever had, the chef  makes it fresh everyday and what a difference it makes.
I just can’t give it enough praise you just need to go order it. Â The grilled cheese was a gourmet grilled cheese with tomato and it was the yummiest grilled cheese I think I have ever had. Â I had a Bellini with my meal, which topped the meal off perfectly. Â The service was outstanding, the chef’, his name is Andrew, was so nice and made everything to order. I will be going back again and again. Â They also serve breakfast, Â I am going to make a point of making my way over to Brickell some morning to try it.
Went to Escopazzo Restaurant on South Beach an Organic Italian Restaurant. Â I had the rigatoni with sausage and broccoli, wow it was so good, it had so much sausage in it. Â It was perfect.
We also ordered off of their raw menu which does not contain any dairy products, it is entirely vegan. Â We tried the zucchini pasta. it was so tasty and yummy. Â The place is so cute, has a nice cozy front room and then you go down a hallway to another room, very cozy. Â So, if you find yourself on Washington Ave and hungry for nice organic Italian this is the place you should head to.
