On July 31st at 7pm Batch will host Christmas In July, a teen toy drive for the patients of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. For every unwrapped teen gift donation a guest brings, Batch will offer them a free drink. Kick off the summer with a little holiday cheer at the Christmas in July party!

This is a teenager-focused gift drive by the request of Radio Lollipop. Gifts like fuzzy socks, journals, craft kits, card games, books, art supplies, and puzzles are greatly appreciated. Jungle Island is taking charge to help reduce the number of drowning incidences by offering the park’s first-ever ‘Penguin Pals’ water safety program. In partnership with the American Red Cross and Miami-Dade County Public Schools, South Florida’s favorite landmark attraction invites children and teens ages 17 and under for informative presentations and exhibits on how to stay safe around the water and promote healthful aquatic recreation. The fun course is taught by American Red Cross certified lifeguards with help from Jungle Island’s African penguin friends, who make a splash while displaying expert swimming and diving skills. After years of medical practice, Dr. Hossein Joukar envisioned a change in the way the local community receives healthcare. Tired of the clouded, inefficient and frankly, unfair experiences of those seeking medical attention, he set out to build a clinic with the patient in mind. In 2005 the first RiteCare facility was inaugurated and Dr. Joukar made sure that his establishment embodied the ideals that have governed his own medical career.
Starting an urgent/walk-in care facility seemed the most logical fit. Urgent cares are convenient alternatives to traditional healthcare facilities. As opposed to traditional primary providers, appointments are not necessary to receive attention, and they are available 7 days a week, with longer operating hours. Before urgent care, the only other option for families experiencing minor conditions such as cold and flu, sprains, minor burns and infections, was to rush over to a crowded hospital emergency room. These visits not only lasted long and uncomfortable wait times, sometimes up to 8 hours, but also cost a substantial amount of money, no matter the insurance provider. Urgent care centers like RiteCare have facilitated the treatment of non-life threatening conditions by seeing patients quickly and efficiently.
“It was important to provide a space for patients to feel confident in the care they are receiving, as well as the price they are paying,” said Dr. Joukar. “We are advocates for fair costs and transparency when it comes to billing. Our patients, insured or not, know exactly what will be charged before any procedure is performed.”
From the moment a patient arrives at any of the four RiteCare facilities, they can expect the utmost level of service performed by any of the board-certified physicians currently on call. In addition to urgent care medical services, RiteCare also provides a variety of services including primary care, physical therapy, school or sports related physical examinations, travel and seasonal vaccinations and immigration physicals. Employers can also count on RiteCare to provide drug testing, occupational medicine/therapy and work-related physical examinations.

About Rochelle Berman
Rochelle’ simple dynamic photographic compositions are emotional, colorful, spiritual, and impressionistic. The artist was born in Brooklyn, NY and currently lives in Miami, Florida. She spent her youth studying the visual arts, life drawing classes in Soho studios as a teen. She always loved to draw, paint and write poetry but it was in college that she finally discovered that her greatest passion of all was Photography. Rochelle especially enjoys creating experimental portraits, nature studies and travel related Images.

About ak cespedes
ak cespedes was born in Lima, Peru in 1975 to parents who loved to travel. Her early life was all about documenting family life via photos. These two familial passions, since instillation, have become a passion of hers that continues to feed her need to explore and grow as an artist and an individual. In 2013, she quit her full time job as a TV Production Manager and embarked on a European summer vacation, spending the first month in Italy, eventually meeting up with her parents to end the adventure touring Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary. Currently, ak is creating a multimedia line of work incorporating photography and woodblocks which will be featured at various art venues throughout South Florida.

About Josephine Reyes
I have developed a passion for creating conceptual/narrative and documentary images. I love taking my visions or interpretations and expressing them through photography, transforming them into a reality. Exploring my ideas through the cameras lens, I’m able to capture a fascinating visual that will take my viewers to a new place and into the world of others.

The Kitchen Hop Presented by Brickell Heights 02, Designer Residences is returning to Brickell, giving foodies much to bite on with over 10 of Brickell’s best kitchens. Z Events CEO Javi Zayas, creator of Kitchen Hop, launched the event in 2014 becoming the first one-of-a-kind culinary experience that features cuisines from all around the world and gives a spin on the customary bar crawl.

The Kitchen Hop Food Crawl commences its series of events for 2015 at Mary Brickell Village, bringing it back to Brickell.
