2312 N. Miami Ave.,
Miami, Florida 33127
Website

Now on its fourth year, the Park Your Art competition showcases local artists through the sponsorship of the Miami Parking Authority (MPA).
This thematic competition gives eight artists, as well as two alternatives, the opportunity to paint their artwork on a unique medium: eight parking payment stations in Wynwood’s Business Improvement District (BID).
Perseverance is this year’s theme in order to empower the countless individuals affected by the recent natural disasters in the Florida Keys, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Texas, Mexico, Barbuda and St. Martin. Park Your Art will give winners the opportunity to paint messages that uplift victims. The goal is to empower the community through nonpolitical messages. Additionally, Park Your Art allows winners to request for donations to be made directly to their chosen charity.
This contest gives a voice to those victims as well as winning artists (established or otherwise) through a wide range of media coverage.
DISCLAIMER: The MPA neither endorses a particular charity/organization nor does it collect cash donations.
Contest Eligibility:
– All entrants must be 21 + to apply.
– Open only to residents of the U.S.
– Competition is open to all artists regardless of experience.
Contest Rules:
Our theme this year is, Perseverance:
-Entries must adhere to the aforementioned theme. What can you paint to empower/uplift recent victims? Only entries that embody this message will be considered.
– No politicized messages.
-One entry per person.
-Mock-up proposal files must not exceed 8MB.
-All designs must be completely original and cannot be any work done prior to the competition.
-Winners MUST be available on the Saturday, November 18, 2017 for their live painting.
-Content must be free of all obscenities (drugs, violence, profanity, nudity). Artwork must be appropriate for all ages.
-Submissions CLOSE on Friday, October 27, 2017.

LGBT art and film meet in the back garden of Superfine! The Fair at the heart of Midtown Miami this December.
Join 250+ art-lovers and cinephiles in the back garden of Superfine! The Fair for a 90 minute series of short films poised directly at the intersection of LGBT themes and the contemporary art world. Superfine! Miami
Get an (almost) first look at the more than 800 works by 150+ local and global artists at Superfine! 2017 as we celebrate our adopted home in our third annual Miami Love opening reception.
Miami’s finest will mix and mingle to the sounds of hometown heroes Afrobeta in our backyard garden as local mainstays Naomi’s Garden and The Pool Bar at The Vagabond sling updated Kreyol fare and craft cocktails. Local favorite KRELwear by Karelle Levy will host a backyard pop-up souk with ready-to-wear tropical knit fashions as well as a see-it-to-believe-it performance art piece of KRELwear-clad models interacting with attendees in the garden.
As you enjoy the art, fashion, and creativity Miami is famous for, you can feel good about yourself because a portion of sales from Miami Love tickets go directly to the Dolphins Plus Marine Mammal Rescue Fund, a Florida Keys-based organization that helps save stranded dolphins and whales. Don’t forget to check out the paintings inside the fair created by the center’s charismatic dolphins!

French, literally ‘varnishing’, originally referring to the day prior to an exhibition when artists were allowed to retouch and varnish hung work.
Don’t worry, the paintings will be dry: we’re giving dedicated art-lovers and our committed year-round Collectors’ Society members an exciting witching hour sneak peek at Superfine! this December in midtown Miami.
You’ll thrill to whimsical sparkling cocktails, performance art, and an overreaching air of surprise as you peruse works by over 150 hand-curated independent and gallery-presented artists. An ethereal backdrop of harp chords float through the air, providing the soundtrack to an evening that’s set to be a Miami Art Week tradition for many years to come. Limited to only 300 guests, the Midnight Vernissage is your best opportunity to fall in love with and collect the artwork you want before any mere mortals get the chance.

Wynwood Warehouse Project is proud to announce its next Art Exhibit “Quorum: A Human Extravaganza”. The opening is scheduled for Friday, September 1st, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. and wil remain until October 1rst.
This ambitious project will be held at our dynamic and trendy gallery at 450 NW 27th St., in the heart of Wynwood-Miami. Additionally, we’ll be giving venue to “Auris Hominis” A very talented local electro-rock-blues band. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served at the event.
“Quorum: A Human Extravaganza”
This episodic exhibition illustrates pivotal moments in figurative art through the work of fifty exceptional artists, from different countries and backgrounds, despite their varied approaches to media and subjects, these artists are bound by their sustained engagement with the human figure and by their use of patterns as a visual strategy to enhance, entice and inmerse into the viewing experience.
The exhibit is complemented by two projects that merge into one…
QUORUM is a group of 15 Latin American artists presenting selections of their work in painting, drawing, digital art, mixed media or assemblage, that feature the human figure as the primary inspiration and focus . They each represent silent storytellers, waiting to be interpreted by the spectator.
HUMAN EXTRAVAGANZA is an experimental kind of Cadavre Exquis (Exquisite Corpse) based on the Surrealist concept where the participant’s work becomes a significant part of a whole. In our variation of the “cadavre”, we have invited 50 artist from differnt backgrounds, to blindly collaborate in its construction, under the premises of size and theme, the human on its figurative form. Together, these works explore issues of identity and personal history, while revealing the versatility of art as means to capture the diversity and complexity of the contemporary human experience.

The Rhythm Foundation is a non-profit organization celebrating its 29th season of
presenting outstanding international artists in South Florida. They are partnering with the French Embassy’s Cultural Services for the celebration of the Fête de la Musique 2017. On June 21st, they invite you to celebrate the beginning of summer in music, from 7pm to 11pm at Wynwood Yard, 56 NW 29th St, Miami.
For the opening act, Mo’booty, a psychedelic, surf-noir Francophone band, will cast shades of punk over the slowly flooding Miami landscape. Their sound is heavy, thick, loud, sometimes noisy but always hits with a purpose.
Tamboka, a musical group inspired by Gypsy and Latin musical traditions, will then perform, inviting you to dance. Vibe with them through the tropical and earthy sounds impregnated in their hands and voices. At the Wynwood Yard, be prepared to “free your mind, as your soul follows”!

Slow Food Miami hosts its first “Snail Social” of the summer on Wednesday, June 14 from 6-8PM at R House, right in the heart of Wynwood.
The team at R House is proud of fitting into the Slow Food ethos “accidentally,” without even trying. For Chef Rocco Carulli, it’s all about flavor, not appearance or modernity, “Our entire menu is based around the use of good, clean ingredients which we take our time to combine without adulterating the base ingredients or overly stylizing them. We do not follow here-today, gone-tomorrow cooking fads or trends, but instead focus on flavor.”
Attendees of the Snail Social can enjoy complimentary bites from Chef Rocco’s new summer menu, including a wide range of new dishes with a rustic Southern Italian and American farm-to-table flair. Selections will include:
● Ciabatta Crostini with Slow-Roasted Heirloom Tomatoes, House-Made Ricotta, Black Olive Tapenade
● Red Beet-Arugula Pesto Bites
● Mini Braised Short Rib and House-Made Ricotta Pizzas
● Grass-Fed Brisket and Short Rib Meatballs with Chef Rocco’s Heirloom Marinara
● Porcini Mushroom-Rubbed Braised Lamb Shank with Israeli Couscous
Drink specials at R House will include happy hour cocktails made using their famous infused liquors, which have undergone a month-long in-house infusion process using tropical fruits, fresh herbs and spices. Guests can extend happy hour and take advantage of the exclusive Slow Food offer — 20% off dinner following the social!

People can expect to see activities for all ages throughout the day with programming moving into a full-blown concert as the day progresses. Handpicked art/craft vendors and food trucks will be available until the very end, offering a little bit of everything that makes South Florida so unique and tasty. In the past, organizers have brought Latin Billboard winners including Maluma, Grupo Niche, Jorge Celedón, ChoquibTown and Victor Manuel. The musical lineup will soon be announced, but it will include local town favorites and top performances provided by iHeart’s Tu 94.9 FM, a major sponsor since its inception.

In light of the Bayer/Monsanto Merger —
Help us make this the biggest and best march ever!
Come together! We must be the change we wish to see!
Calling all eaters, creative’s, families, farmers, foodies, fair food, wage & trade, unions, social justice groups, climate change groups and all stewards of the planet, the 2017 March Against Monsanto is fast approaching! Whereas we have had in previous years 2000 people march in Miami alone and over 10,000 people across our great state! Help us make this march the strongest impact ever!
Our goal is to have another amazing community event, with all of our collective, diverse groups gathering together under the Adrienne Arsht Metro Mover to march in solidarity for the health of our people, our water, soil & planet, our farmers around the world and to save biodiversity of seeds, stop the genetically Modified mosquitoes and to educate the citizens of Miami about the adverse health effects associated with GMOs & glyphosate and expose Monsanto’s corrupt business practices.
We aim to inform the community about what we are putting in our bodies and encourage people to be the change they wish to see by supporting local farmers, voting with our dollar, growing our own food and sharing with our neighbors.
This is a peaceful march and family friendly event so bring the kids!! BRING COLORFUL, CREATIVE SIGNS, COSTUMES, CHANTS, & DRUMS! Carpool, Uber or Lyft, take public transportation, and be sure to bring a refillable water container! (PLS NO PLASTIC) Let’s march for a beautiful GMO-Free world!

The Wynwood Yard
56 NW 29th St,

We’re bringing the island of Curaçao to Miami for an epic evening of exploration, culture, and celebration.
On May 13, The New Tropic is transforming the Wynwood Yard into a little slice of the Caribbean getaway with authentic music, cocktails, and interactive experiences, in partnership with the Curaçao Tourist Board. Best of all, we’ll be sending a bunch of you to experience Curaçao for yourselves, on the house, through multiple giveaways.
We’ll be updating you with all deets leading up to the event, but for now, here are some things you can expect:
– Complimentary Curaçao Liqueur-inspired cocktails by local mixologists
– Live Afro-Caribbean-influenced DJ set by DJ Le Spam of Spam All-Stars
– Livestream with locals who’ll be at a simultaneous get-down in Curaçao
Just off the coast of Venezuela, Curaçao is only a three-hour flight from Miami, and the exploration list is insanely long: a unique history and culture, its own language (Papiamentu!), 36 beautiful beaches, hidden herb gardens, a national liquor, iguana soup—and, most importantly, awesome people. Join us to get a taste.
The event is free and open to the community with RSVP.

Drawing from an unbroken tradition of Indian devotional singing, Jai Uttal will introduce and lead us in the ancient practice of “Kirtan” (or chanting), the heart of devotional yoga. This practice of calling to the divine creates a bridge between the individual and the eternal, opening the heart and welcoming the spirit. Sometimes soft and meditative and sometimes loud and wildly rhythmic, Kirtan takes the participant on a deep emotional and musical journey through our mostly unexplored inner world. With solo performance and call-and-response group chanting, jai creates a space of invocation, prayer, and heartfelt expression. Jai has been leading Kirtans worldwide for over thirty years. “these ancient chants,” writes Jai “contain a transformative power and healing energy. By singing these prayers we join a stream of consciousness and devotion that has been flowing for centuries.” no previous experience is needed. This is an exploration of the heart, independent of vocal or musical technique. General admission: $45 in advance; $55 at the door premium: $55 in advance; $65 at the door; valet parking and self-parking is available.

Wynwood Life is proud to have the Miami Art & Design Education Institute (M.A.D.E.) as the presenting sponsor, because M.A.D.E is known for elevating people’s art and design career to the next level by way of their industry-driven approach to education, through coaching, mentoring, and networking in the heart of Miami’s Art District. In addition, WYN 317 Gallery will be the gallery partner as well as being on the selection committee.
Over 20 bands and DJs will occupy the Live Music Stage featuring local favorites and hometown bands gone big such as Otto Von Schirach, Tamboka, Jeano Music, Hoy Palloy, Zander and many more.
The Style Lounge will offer free services including nail polish changes, a braid station and Henna. The Spot Barbershop will have a pop up for the men, and stylists will showcase multiple fashion shows by local boutiques, fashion bloggers including iShine365, Dyme Lyfe, graciouslylovedllc, Koko and Palenki, to name a few.
The Wynwood Culinary Showcase will feature top restaurants and chefs from the area providing teachable moments such as Chef Cesar Zapata from Phuc yea, who will teach us how to cook a whole fish. This year, the stage will also invite South Florida chefs outside of Wynwood who are taking the culinary scene to a higher level. Scheduled to make demos are Max Santiago, Bunnie Cakes, Crave Clean, Copper 29, and more. The Bitter Truth will have a pop up where they’ll carve the ice for each cocktail with a chainsaw, and they will also compete against Employees Only to come up with the “Best Cocktail” at Wynwood Life.

300 + CRAFT BEERS IS NO JOKE AT
SPRUNG CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL
It might take place on April Fools, but when it comes to pulling together a unique lineup of beer from around the World, Sprung Craft Beer Festival doesn’t joke around. This free spirited approach to some serious beer tasting of over 300 craft beers will take place on April 1 and will overflow with unlimited beer samples, live music, food and games! It’s time to get Sprung!
This year, the festival put together an incredible beer lineup that includes New Belgium, Founder’s, SweetWater, Green Flash, Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn Brewery, Kona, Magic Hat, Shiner, Shipyard, Harpoon, Blue Moon and others looking to showcase their spring and summer ales. Representing Florida will be Wynwood Brewing, Biscayne Bay Brewing, The Tank, J. Wakefield, Concrete Beach Brewing, Cigar City, Miami Brewing Company, Tequesta Brewing, Hialeah Brewing, Funky Buddha and M.I.A. Beer enthusiasts will also be treated to a selection not available in South Florida, and in keeping with tradition, the homebrew section will showcase brews created by locals who are passionate about their beer. Aficionados know to keep an eye on homebrew participants, because more often than not, they end up opening a brewery of their own.
The Kitchen Lab will feature four notable chefs who will conduct a cooking demo that either uses beer as an ingredient or pairs well with beer.
$45 at the door (general admission). To purchase tickets online, go to
