Weekend Includes Club Blue Nite, Family Day, Special Ticket Pricing and More; Portion of Ticket Sales to Benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade

Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade and the Miami Marlins invite the public to participate in their official Charity Partner Weekend, June 22-24, at Marlins Park. A portion of ticket sales during the weekend will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade.

Not only will the weekend include exciting games featuring the Miami Marlins against the Toronto Blue Jays, but also fun-filled events. Participants will enjoy silent auctions and raffles as the Miami Marlins highlight all that Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade does for the South Florida community. Festivities will include giveaways, pre-game entertainment and post-game concerts on the West Plaza, Diamond Dash and much more.

Also, Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade Youth of the Year 18-year-old Ahbria Marshall of the Northwest Club will throw out the first pitch for the June 23 game. Marshall, who is in the Top 4 in Florida Youth of the Year, has been a Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade member since she was in 2nd grade. She is active in Girl Scouts. She helped launch the Cultural Arts Program at the organization’s Northwest Club, and was active in the afterschool enrichment program offered at that club. She is also involved in the 4-H Club, which works to bring awareness of health, fitness, nutrition and the upkeep of animals and plants at the club. Marshall graduated magna cum laude from Miami Northwestern Senior High School this year, and will be attending Florida International University in Miami in the fall. Her ambition is to become a newscaster.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade alumna 12-year-old Elizabeth Elias will sing the national anthem at the June 23 game. At a very young age, Elias started singing, dancing and modeling. In recent years, she has also appeared in TV commercials, danced for the Miami Heat Jr. Jam and the Florida Marlin Minnows, signed with BKIDZ, and performed in the musicals 13 and Seussical, and guest starred on the Spanish soap opera El Rostro de Analia.
