Hollywood Outreach Health Clinic will provide on site Medical, Vision and Dental care for the homeless residents of the Broward Outreach Center in Hollywood

In an effort to help the physical well-being of the formerly homeless residents at the Broward Outreach Center Hollywood, the Hollywood Outreach Health Clinic will provide much needed services on site for those in need. The Hollywood Outreach Health Clinic is the second satellite location of the Miami Health Clinic, located on the Miami Rescue Mission Campus, opening one year after the first satellite location opened at the Broward Outreach Center in Pompano Beach in January of 2011.

The Hollywood Outreach Health Clinic will be made available to the formerly homeless residents by volunteer doctors, nurses, physician assistants and lab technicians who have offered their services. In addition, partnerships with community organizations and schools are to thank for the realization of the Hollywood Outreach Health Clinic.

The ceremony is scheduled to include a ribbon cutting ceremony, appearances from local dignitaries, and speeches by keynote speakers Dr. Armando Ferrer, President of Miami Dade College’s Medical Center Campus and former Mayor of Hollywood, Mara Galanti.

Rev. Ron Brummitt, President of the Miami Rescue Mission/Broward Outreach Centers, said of the opening, “This is an extremely exciting and heartwarming event. The Miami Health Clinic opened in May of 2009 with Pompano Outreach Health Clinic opening in January of 2011, this is a great step to taking care of the health needs of the homeless here in Hollywood.”

Dr. Pete Gutierrez, Director of the Mission’s Health Clinic, stated, “This Grand Opening marks the starts of something special in Hollywood; it will be a blessing to be able to provide medical service to the homeless and needy population at the Broward Outreach Center Hollywood.”
