Moderator: Arva Moore Parks, Former Member, Federal Advisory Council on Historic Preservation
Panelists: Donovan Rypkema, Principal PlaceEconomics, Washington D.C.; Tony Goldman, CEO, Goldman Properties, Miami; and John Leith-Tetrault, President, National Trust Community Investment Corporation.

The panel will discuss the potential of Downtown Miami’s many historic structures and how historic preservation can serve as an economic engine in our urban core. Following the panel discussion, participants will have the opportunity to take a tour of the Freedom Tower, one of Miami’s most distinctly preserved architectural and cultural landmarks.

A group of the country’s leading experts on blending historic preservation with vibrant downtowns will be participating in a panel discussion that will explore the potential of Downtown Miami’s many historic structures and how historic preservation can serve as an economic engine in our urban core. These nationally-recognized preservation and development specialists will outline actions Miami can take to create more sustainable, preservation-oriented development and economic growth.

Following the panel discussion, participants will have the opportunity to take a tour of the Freedom Tower, one of Miami’s most distinctly preserved architectural and cultural landmarks. This is an event of Dade Heritage Days, a celebration of historic places presented by Dade Heritage Trust, and is being made possible by the Miami Downtown Development Authority, the City of Miami, and the Urban Land Institute.
