Art Basel Day 4-Wynwood art Again

Zadok Gallery
As I was heading to UR New York, I strolled into Zadok Gallery on North Miami Avenue. This gallery had it all. Artlike dresses, sculptures, Xray photographic images, you name it. In a nice two story building, most of the artwork was on the first floor and much to see around.

UR New York
BREAKING AND ENTERING, presented by POP International Galleries, was a demonstration of UR New York’s vast range and ability to continuously produce groundbreaking urban inspired art. The exhibition and LIVE installations took place in the Wynwood District. Artists Michael Baca – aka “2ESAE” and Fernando Romero aka “SKI” are committed to “breaking and entering” into the mainstream – letting their art loose on the world, all the while breaking the status quo and entering the art world on their own terms — offering intensely personal and vibrant works with universal appeal. UR New York tells the stories of a new generation of artists. They are talented urban and street creators generally hidden in the shadows and more often than not arrested and punished for expressing their talents.

Janae Anon Art work
On 24th street, in the heart of the Wynwood’s art district I arrived at the Grey Area warehouse where they were featuring works by several different artists. Just to name a few, glass artist Zach Knudson, had a wide variety work consisting of everything from futuristic mannequins with mechanical attachments and glass wings, to glass etched pieces lit up with an image of a woman’s profile wearing with what looked to be a geometrically designed headdress. To my surprise a good friend of mine, Janae Anon was also exhibiting her work. She created a series of interesting character illustrations done in pencil with a humorous twist by using a premise based on the seven deadly sins. Also showing at Grey Area was Joseph Ian Baca, who produced mostly figurative works with a linear painterly style all his own and also kept busy body painting models and president of Grey Area, Candace Meyer. This is a spot that is definitely worth checking out and what I would consider to be a “must see”. Good job Janae!!

Multiversal Exhibition
After visiting my friend, I was so excited and honored to cover the Multiversal project exhibition presented by Life is Art. Miami was wow-ed with a new and unique one-of-a-kind arts experience! Guests were introduced to more than 120 of South Florida’s best as well as artists from all around the world. By encompassing almost 5,000 square feet, Multiversal showcased their best visual and performance works under tented and open-air space in this can’t miss event.
Among our artists, one found both established and emerging names from around the world. Their media will span fine arts, live art, sculpture, urban art, installations, photography, body painting, fashion and film festivals. A great showcase that had it all!

Miguel Paredes Gallery
Going back to my car I ventured into one of my favorite galleries Miguel Paredes where the gallery was showcasing for Disney Undergrown and ACME Archives piece. Weird but adorable at the same time. I wanted to play with each figurine. His other pieces of works was also showcased that night. A great gallery to venture in.

Product 81 Gallery featuring Afrobeta
Lastly I went to Product 81 Gallery, where I came upon a great group that I heard of them but never heard them play until now, Afrobeta rocked the house with their electronic beats and also played alongside a screen that made images as they played. The girl was awesome and such talent by both members. They jam and jame and people event came inside the gallery to listen to who was playing. The music, I would say was electronic with a bit of funky feeling to it. However, now I need to get their CD to hear more of their great beats! Afrobeta! Great music guys!!
