The Association for Women in Communications South Florida Chapter hosts Social Media: Challenge or Opportunity? at The Havana Club 6/18/09

The Association for Women in Communications South Florida Chapter will host a free professional development seminar entitled “Social Media: Challenge or Opportunity?” at The Havana Club, 200 South Biscayne Blvd., 55th floor, on Thursday, June 18th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

The AWC is providing the seminar as a service to help communicators in South Florida stay up-to-date on the evolving social media landscape.

Alex de Carvalho, co-founder of StartPR and adjunct professor of social media at the University of Miami, and Murray Izenwasser, Director of Client Strategy, Interactive Services for Starmark International, will discuss how social media is changing marketing, public relations, and the way we work and live. Topics include:

What opportunities and challenges do we face with these tools?
How do we understand and participate in communities in our current age of many-to-many media?
How can we use them to drive real business?
