A surprise exhibition from Not a Gallery artist Justin Belmont has created an Andy Warhol-inspired art garden, a new series of work developed specifically for Refinery29 entitled “Factory Fun House.” The installation will feature 10 large-scale circular art pieces throughout the lush landscaped courtyard. “Art Basel Miami is the apotheosis of what Andy was trying to accomplish – the meeting of art and commerce in the most fabulous, camera-ready setting,” says Belmont. Unlike the Warhol silkscreens, where bright pop color and optimism ruled, Belmont’s work is a little darker, as if the icons featured have grown wise with age.
The evening will be hosted by Refinery29’s Senior Editor Kristian Laliberte, Miami Editor Nikki Novo and Creative Director Piera Gelardi, DJ May Kwok, Founder of Not a Gallery, Justin Belmont, DJ Chelsea Leyland, Designer and Founder of Miansa Jewelry, Michael Saiger, President of Del Toro Shoes, Matthew Chevallard and fashion journalist Johnny Misheff invites Miami influencers to a jam-packed night of dancing, incredible fashion, photography and art including a Refinery29-flavored photo-booth to capture every style moment; beauty applications by Violent Lips for personalized, temporary lip tattoos; Miami-inspired photo studio with GUESS and the latest in Bluetooth technology with a unique product experience celebrating the launch of Motorola ELITE SLIVER. Guests will dance and mingle to the awesome tunes of renowned DJ May Kwok while savoring complimentary cocktails courtesy of SVEDKA vodka.
