The Frost Art Museum Presents Family Fun Day

“We hope families from across the country will come toher in a creative and positive environment and enjoy all the free family opportunities The Frost Art Museum has to offer,” said Dr. Carol Damian, Director & Chief Curator.

The fun-filled afternoon is designed for the entire family and it includes fun activities for families including mask-making, portraiture, face paintings, creative games, music, and light snacks. There will be different stations set up around the open café area for the children and families to create their artwork. Visitors can also tour the exhibits including Genetic Portraits by Nela Ochoa and Because I Say So from the Scholl Sculpture Collection.

Families and visitors are able to explore the new Kenan-Flagler Discovery Gallery which was ranked by Miami New Times as the “Best Place for Kids to Unleash Their Creativity.” The Family Discovery Gallery is designed to be an interactive space where children of all ages try new things as they practice sharing, learning new skills and developing self-directed exploration. Guests are able to explore this state-of-the-art Discovery Gallery which consists of 13 stations including the computer-based display, Picture Yourself, where a camera takes an image of a person’s face and reproduces it on a touch screen.
