BODY: Art, Health and Community Awareness Exhibition
March 19 â€“ 21, 2009
BODY is an exhibition born from the artistâ€™s inspiration and intention to help raise awareness of the problems the community faces with Hepatitis and HIV. Artist, Mauricio Ferrer, hopes that through his art he can help change the perception of the more than 500 million people living with viral hepatitis B and hepatitis C and the more than 46 million people infected with HIV worldwide.
The exhibition runs March 19 â€“ 21, 2009 and is free and open to the public. Representatives from the Broward County Health Department will be providing information and education on HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis, as well as offering free HIV testing.
ArtServe is located in the Broward Public Library at 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd Ft. Lauderdale, Fl 33304. The exhibition starts Thursday, March 19 with a reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, March 20th and Saturday, March 21st, doors will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
