From the DDA: Unfortunately Mother Nature has her own plans today and they do not include letting us put on an outdoor concert. The DWNTWN Miami Concert Series featuring Rachel Goodrich, Jacob Jeffries Band and Tristan Clopet has been canceled tonight due to flooding at Bayfront Park and continuous thunderstorms throughout the day.

The DWNTWN Miami Concert Series is every second Friday of the month (expect March). The series features a free concert open to the public at Bayfront Park’s Tina Hills Pavilion from October through April, and at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts during the summer months.

The Miami Downtown Development Authority’s popular DWNTWN Miami Concert Series will now be held year-round, the expanded concert series will continue to host monthly events during the winter months at Bayfront Park’s Tina Hills Pavillion and at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts during the summer.

Join the Miami Downtown Development Authority Friday, February 10th for the best happy hour in town, for the fifth concert in the DWNTWN Concert Series with three energetic performances by Tristan Clopet, Jacob Jeffries and Rachel Goodrich. Food Trucks will be on-site and food and drinks will be available. Concert-goers are also welcome to bring their own blankets, food and drinks.

Tristan Clopet kicks off the festivities with songs from his latest LP that are a tour-de-force of clever songwriting, lush harmonies and dancing rhythms.

Next up Jacob Jeffries, hailed as a super singer-songwriter-keyboardist, and his band showcase their piano driven rock and roll that is bursting with hook-filled melodies and dramatic, instantly likable vocals.

Last, but certainly not least, Rachel Goodrich, along with her full band, brings her eclectic blend of vaudeville-inspired indie pop and swing-jazz to the downtown stage.

Presented by the Miami DDA, additional sponsors include the Intercontinental Hotel Miami, Miami Children’s Museum and Miami New Times others involved include Embrace Events and Big Brothers Big Sisters. This season the Miami DDA has partnered up with Big Brothers Big Sisters for the Just Volunteer Miami initiative – a campaign to encourage volunteerism in Miami. The DWNTWN Concert Series is free to the public and held on the second Friday of every month during sunset happy hour. Food and drinks are available. The Miami Downtown Development Authority’s DWNTWN Miami Concert Series will now be held year-round as a result of a $100,000 matching grant awarded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The expanded concert series will continue to host monthly events during the winter months at Bayfront Park’s Tina Hills Pavillion and at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts during the summer.
