This summer at a 7:30 p.m. new, earlier time every other Thursday—June 8 through August 17—the Community Arts Program (CAP) Summer Concert Series returns for its 38th year. In the historic, Spanish-revival style setting of Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ, concertgoers have the unique opportunity to not only hear music by incredible classical and jazz musicians. Attendees also learn more about the music and each artist’s journey with music.

Since 1985, the Community Arts Program (CAP) Summer Concert Series has been attended by more than 70,000 concertgoers. It is a time-honored tradition that continued with virtual broadcasts to the world throughout the pandemic summers of 2020 and 2021, and gathered an average of 7,500 views each summer. This developed an extended audience that CAP is excited to welcome on-ground again in the summer of 2023!

Throughout the school year, the Community Arts Program (CAP) also provides after-school music education with the CAP Conservatory for the Arts and its Miami Jazz Institute. These reach children and youth from over 53 Miami-Dade County Schools, no matter what students’ circumstance or ability.
