Orchestra Miami commemorates Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah) with the Florida premiere of Marvin David Levy’s Atonement on Sunday, April 23, 2017, 4:00 PM at Temple Israel of Greater Miami. Atonement is a reworking of three of Levy’s previous pieces that have never before been performed in South Florida. Exploring three critical moments of Jewish history — “Holocaust”, “Inquisition”, and “Masada” — Atonement will be performed by dynamic soprano and Miami favorite Elizabeth Caballero and Heldentenor Michael Robert Hendrick, with narration by Rabbi M. Thomas Heyn, Temple Israel’s spiritual leader. Orchestra Miami’s Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi will conduct the 53 professional musicians of Orchestra Miami and 16 voice choir.

The famous and frothy Overture to Candide by beloved composer Leonard Bernstein will open the musical program, followed by Atonement. The concert will be presented without intermission and last approximately 90 minutes.

Tickets for the Atonement are priced from $20-$40, with a 10% discount for seniors and $5 tickets available for students. (For student tickets, please call (305) 274-2103).Tickets are available through Orchestra Miami’s website at or by calling (305) 274-2103.
