Don’t miss your opportunity to experience the perfect acoustics and see the interior of one of Miami’s most fascinating buildings as Orchestra Miami presents More Masonic Mozart on Sunday, April 17th, 2016 at 4:00 PM! This all-Mozart concert features music composed for Masonic ritual or based on Masonic symbols. This year’s concert features the rarely heard Mauerische Trauermusik (Mason’s Music for Mourning) in C Minor, K. 477, the beautiful and majestic Symphony N. 39 in E Flat Major, K. 543 and the dramatic Piano Concerto in D Minor, K. 466, featuring Miami’s own Paul Posnak, piano soloist. The 32 musicians of Orchestra Miami will be led by Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi.
Miami’s Scottish Rite Temple is one of Miami’s most iconic landmarks. Built in 1927, this spectacular building possesses an acoustically perfect 900 seat auditorium and is filled with spectacular and unique architectural details. Prior to the concert at 3:00 PM, a lecture on the fascinating history and features of this unique building will be presented by Scottish Rite historian John Borsa, Jr.
