Back by popular demand- Orchestra Miami’s series of outdoor concerts for the community! â€œBeethoven on the Beach- Sumptuous Stringsâ€ features the string ensemble of Orchestra Miami, performing works by Bartok, Holst, Tchaikovsky and Beethoven, conducted by Orchestra Miamiâ€™s Artistic Director, Elaine Rinaldi. This yearâ€™s concert begins with the gorgeous and exotic Romanian Folk Dances, Sz. 56, BB 68 by Hungarian composer Bela Bartok followed by a rarity- Beethovenâ€™s â€œNo, Non Turbatiâ€, a concert aria for soprano and string orchestra featuring local favorite, Jouvanca Jean-Baptiste, as the soloist. The first half concludes with Gustav Holstâ€™s lively and spirited â€œSt. Paulâ€™s Suiteâ€ Op. 29 N. 2. The concert concludes with Tchaikovskyâ€™s sumptuous and beautiful Serenade for Strings in C Major, Op. 48. â€¢ Sunday, March 8, 2015; 7:00 PM at the Pinecrest Gardens â€œBanyan Bowlâ€ (11000 SW 57 Avenue) in Pinecrest- gates open at 7:00 PM â€“ General Admission Stadium Seating. Concessions will be available (all proceeds to benefit Orchestra Miami); Suggested admission is $10 per person, however, no one will be turned away! Free parking available on-site.
