The classic tale of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet is transformed to an awe-inspiring modern production in Spectacular Stage’s ROMEO & JULIET: ETERNAL LOVE. Seeking unique, local talent to audition.

With the use of impressive holographic technology, like never seen before in the United States, this contemporary presentation will wow audiences when it debuts for the first time stateside in Miami from May 15 – 17, 2014 at the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami.

Who We Need:

ROMEO & JULIET: ETERNAL LOVE is looking for both English and Spanish-speaking singers with a classical or pop background, superior acting skills and stage presence as well as the ability to read basic sheet music. Anyone can audition for a role!

Each audition candidate will be required to perform two songs of their choice and will be provided a pianist to accompany them. Any background music needed by the performer will be brought on a CD.

Each person auditioning will be judged on their vocal and musical abilities, acting skills as well as their ability to drive to rehearsals and prepare with the cast as needed.

When to Audition:

Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the University of Miami, BankUnited Center. Fieldhouse, 1245 Dauer Dr. Coral Gables, FL, 33416.

Auditions begin at 10 am and will last throughout the day. Space is limited, so sign up NOW to receive your audition number. This will determine your audition time and place in line.
Be sure to fill out the application attached before auditioning – no walk-ups will be considered.

Available Roles:

ROMEO: Montague’s son, age 18-30. Tenor. Great stage presence. Inclination for acting and performing, and with outstanding singing skills.

JULIET: Capulet’s daughter, age 18-30. Soprano. Great stage presence. Inclination for acting and performing, and with outstanding singing skills.

MERCUTIO: Romeo’s friend, age 18-30. Tenor with vibrant vocal skills. Inclination for acting and good gesturing.

TYBALT: Juliet’s cousin, age 18-35. Baritone.

JULIET’S NURSE: age 30-50. Mezzo-soprano

FRIAR LAURENCE: high priest of a church in Verona, age 25-35. Baritone.

LADY CAPULET: Juliet’s mother, age 25-35. Mezzo-soprano.

CAPULET: Juliet’s father, age 40-50. Bass.

UNCLE CAPULET: Capulet’s brother, age 40-50. Bass.

All performers will also be considered for the secondary roles of Benvolio, Gregory, Sampson, Abram, Balthasar and Peter.
