After more than twenty-five years as a graffiti writer, Miami artist Disem opens Who Authorized This, a new exhibition at the Museum of Graffiti, with a free reception during LatinX Heritage Month. The first 150 guests receive a premium Levi’s Trucker Jacket hand-screenprinted with the artist’s work. The exhibition explores the boundaries, systems and assumptions that shape how we see the world, blending graffiti and realism, street culture and fine art. Disem is known for vibrant portraits of figures like Dwyane Wade, Jose Fernandez, and Gloria and Emilio Estefan in his signature pink-and-teal, Art Deco-inspired style described as pretty and gritty.
