Public Art Wednesday: Art Walking Tour

If you’re looking for public art in Miami, your search ends here! The Miami Downtown Development Authority has partnered up with Miami Dade Art and Public Places to bring local Miami residents and visitors the first ever, “Art Walking Tour,” in Miami. Miami Dade art in Public places has commissioned over fifty-five artworks since 1973. Eleven select pieces of their collection will be featured on the,“Art Walking Tour.” This walking tour is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of Miami Art!

Learn about the artists and soak up some of the Miami flair as you travel through Miami and make six stops throughout the city exploring some of Miami’s finest public artworks! Your first stop will bring you to the Plaza of Miami Dade Cultural Center, your second stop will bring you to Miami’s Main Public Library, the third stop will be the Metro Dade County Building, the fourth stop is at Metromover Riverwalk Station, the fifth stop is at Bayfront Park, West Side, and the sixth and final stop on the walking tour is at the Miami Dade Community College! (Wolfson Campus) Throughout the six stops your will see eleven hand selected pieces chosen to be featured on the tour!  This walking tour is not only a great way to learn more about art, but it is a great family friendly activity and the perfect way to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather Miami has to offer!
