Miami’s best arts and music festival on the last Friday of every month, from 7 to 11 pm on SW 8th Street (Calle Ocho) between 13th and 17th Avenues.

When: 7:00 pm – Dr. Paul George – Walking tour of Little Havana

7:00 – 7:30 pm – Fina Escayola Flamenco
The sultry dance of Flamenco lives in the dancers of Fina Escayola Flamenco. This legendary Flamenco dancer and instructor passes on the mystic history of classical Spanish dance on a daily basis in her studio. This month, they bring their exotic dances to Calle Ocho.

7:30 – 8:30 pm – Pine Island Express
Pine Island Express plays traditional and contemporary bluegrass music with two, three and four part harmonies. The band performs regularly all around Florida. Band members include Gail Rolison (guitar), Ronnie Rolison (bass), Dave Stype on (banjo), and Louise King (mandolin).

8:30 – 9:30 pm – Sociedad Rebelde
Sociedad Rebelde is a groove-alternative band with fresh original songs and a retro yet innovative sound, bringing elements of Pop-Rock, Reggae, and Latin together with a new, vibrant & fresh sound! The purpose of Sociedad Rebelde is very specific: To have a signature sound, involving great songs, catchy hooks with a rockin band.

9:30 – 11:00 pm -Timba Swing
Founded by Cuban pianist Boris Diez, they are the new Miami sound. Combining son, timba, salsa and Latin jazz their music has a unique style and fusion. Its musicians are all well recognized, virtuoso performers that have played with famous bands, such as Charanga Habanera, NG, Afrokuba, Fania, Tito Puente and Celia Cruz.

Viernes Culturales is pleased to announce June’s “Romp Through Little Havana.” This tour of Little Havana will focus on the historic Conch Hill Neighborhood, Peter & Paul Parish and The Roads neighborhood.

Viernes Culturales Art Gallery Presents Santos Mendez

Santos Mendez depicts the magnetism of exotic people and tropical places in his work. His paintings describe island atmospheres using powerful combinations of jewel tones to create vibrancy and harmony.
