About Sustain Restaurant + Bar:
Open December 2010, Sustain Restaurant + Bar, located in the hub of Midtown’s burgeoning restaurant row, is catering to discerning South Florida foodies with its progressive American fare prepared from local, sustainable products. At the helm of the kitchen is executive chef Alejandro Piñero, who has worked under famed chefs Dawn Sieber and Michelle Bernstein and, most recently, served as sous chef at Casa Tua, and was chef de cuisine at Fratelli Lyon. Here, he focuses on using seafood that complies with the Monterey Bay Fish Guide, as well as meat and produce from local sources and sustainable producers. The reasonably priced menu changes with the seasons and includes both the accessible and adventurous. A wood burning oven infuses flavor into vegetables, pork, chicken, and pizza. Food service extends to the bar, and to complement menu items, old-fashioned cocktails, artisanal beers, and a large selection of reasonably priced wines are available. Desserts, made on the premises, feature homey delights such as warm fresh-baked cookies, cobblers, and doughnuts. The restaurant’s 3,200 square foot space encompasses indoor/outdoor seating for approximately 100 guests and an additional 20 at the bar. Sustain Restaurant + Bar, located at 3252 NE 1st Avenue in Midtown Miami, serves lunch Monday- Friday; dinner nightly, and Saturday and Sunday brunch service.
