Lords South Beach is pleased to announce its participation in Sleepless Night, Miamiʼs ultimate cultural all-nighter. Lords will be showcasing the work of Ricardo Bellino, the entrepreneur-turned-artist who creates portraits of iconic cultural figures out of recycled Nespresso capsules. Ricardoʼs portrait of Elizabeth Taylor will be auctioned off during the event, and all proceeds will benefit the KiptonART Foundation.

Hosted by Lauren Foster and Erin Newberg, Lordsʼ Sleepless Night celebration will feature a pop-up Nespresso café on the porch that will serve complimentary coffee throughout the night. Ricardoʼs portraits will be on display in Lordsʼ lobby gallery.

“Ricardoʼs work pays homage to well-loved icons who have shaped our culture,” says Lords Founder, Brian Gorman. “This is a fantastic opportunity to support an emerging artist, in the spirit of Sleepless Night. Weʼre also proud to donate to the KiptonART Foundation, an organization that makes it possible for artists to continue creating inspiring work.”

The relationship between Lords and Ricardo began earlier this year when Ricardo read an article about Lords, and was inspired not only by Brianʼs penchant for decorating guest rooms with portraits of Elizabeth Taylor, but also Lordsʼ focus on charity, community, and acceptance. Ricardo offered the portrait as a gift for the hotel, and Brian, in turn, decided to auction the piece to benefit a good cause.

The auction of Bellino’s Elizabeth Taylor portrait is expected to raise considerable funds for the KiptonART Foundation. Providing stipends for emerging artists is just one of the essential services provided by KiptonART – the foundation also promotes new artistsʼ online presence and visibility through exhibitions while forging invaluable connections for them in the art world. In addition, all of the art that hangs in Lords is by KiptonART.

This benefit is just one of Lords’ many charity initiatives – giving back to the community that supports him has always been a priority for Brian Gorman. Since opening nearly a year ago, Lords has donated over $10,000 through its Rooms That Matter program. Ten percent of the proceeds from five guest rooms are donated to LGBT charities that promote education, acceptance, and safety: Care Resource, The Point Foundation, Hetrick-Martin Institute, Lambda Legal, and Aqua Foundation.
