The annual arrival of Nama Sakes in Japan is a widely-anticipated event, signaling the arrival of spring.  Nama sakes – young, unpasteurized and vibrant in flavor (nama meaning “young” in Japanese”) – are fruity with grassy notes, boasting a pleasant sweetness.  Hence the association with the change of season and SUSHISAMBA Miami Beach is the premier destination in South Florida to taste these sakes, which are available for a very limited time.  Enjoyed alone or perfectly paired with the restaurant’s renowned blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine, Nama Sakes are an epicurean delight not to be missed. Below are the special Nama Sake Sommelier Selections available at SUSHISAMBA Miami Beach until June 15, 2013.
Masumi “Arabashiri” Junmai Ginjo Nama Genshu    720ml     75.00
Combines the punch of just pressed sake with the fruity taste and aroma of Ginjo sake. Bracingly fresh and clean with a resounding finish—practically exploding with flavors. Arabashiri pairs well with robust foods, even Brazilian.

Tedorigawa “Kinka” Nama Daiginjo                       720ml    75.00
Full, clean taste, with a nice balance of sweetness and acidity overlaying a delicate fruitiness.                                Like plum blossoms at winter’s end.

Dewazakura Dewasansan “Green Ridge:Primal Strength” Junmai Ginjo Nama Genshu  500ml    57.00
This nama, delivers a noticeable lift at first sip, followed by a pleasant tartness and a brisk finish.                                              Its lively taste stands up well to spicy foods.

Kikusui Funaguchi Nama Honjozo Genshu            200ml     15.00
Characterized by the fresh aroma of ripe fruit and a full-bodied, strikingly rich taste unique to this style of sake.                     Great served on the rocks.

Kikusui Funaguchi Aged Ginjo                                200ml     20.00
This Ginjo sake is packed as soon as it is brewed and aged at a low temperature for over a year,                                      allowing it to acquire a heavier mouth feel and rich character.

Seikyo Junmai Ginjo Nama       720ml    85.00                                                                                                    Bright and lively, this sake has notes of ripe watermelon, mango and citrus in the finish.                                                              It is well balanced with a rounded flavor and clean acidity.
