The goal of Pets’ Trust Miami is to stop the killing of 20,000 adoptable dogs and cats in Miami-Dade County each year.

Pets-Trust-Miami-Evite-for-publicOn October 5th pm Michael Rosenberg will be “checking in” to Miami Dade County Animal Services where he will live in a cage among homeless dogs and cats to spread a message of awareness that we need to vote for YES for #240 on Nov. 6th.

Visit MDAS on Oct. 5th-7th to see Micheal and adopt a dog or a cat for a discounted $25 adoption fee.

Pets’ Trust Miami Founder, Michael Rosenberg, is a man of his word and truly a dog’s (and cat’s) best friend. He is spending this weekend in a cage at Miami-Dade Animal Services on behalf of the Pets’ Trust ballot measure #240 to address the plight of overpopulated, abandoned and homeless pets. Rosenberg will be surrendered (like thousands of unwanted pets each year) and housed in a concrete, chain-link cage for two nights, while Animal Services steps up adoption efforts with a weekend goal of finding “forever homes” for the nearly 600 abandoned pets currently in the shelter. Animal Services is reducing adoption fees to $25 on October 6 & 7.

Pets’ Trust Miami is an unprecedented effort to help save the lives of thousands of animals and assist our community’s pet owners. Miami-Dade Animal Services takes in up to 37,000 dogs and cats every year and kills more than 20,000 adoptable pets annually due to overpopulation and abandonment. It is estimated that more than 400,000 stray cats roam the streets of Miami-Dade County. This initiative aims to perform up to 100,000 spay and neuter surgeries per year, as well as to provide educational programs and low-cost veterinary care for qualified residents.
