Flavors of Mexico and Central America Available in Doral for a Limited Time
InterContinental at Doral Miami hosts Food Festival; September 3-14, 2012

InterContinental at Doral Miami once again celebrates the Mexican and Central American Food Festival with an extensive variety of traditional menu items. The two week Food Festival is the brainchild of Oscar Salgado, the Food and Beverage Manager at the hotel. The idea is to bring the diverse food and flavors of Mexico and Central America to the pallets of hotel guests and the local community to expose new flavors to some and remind other of the traditional flavors of home.

During the Mexican food festival, some of the dishes that will be featured include, a station (estacion de antojitos) small bites/appetizers, tamales, and moles. The second week, will feature the Central American food festival. The menu items will include Honduran baleadas, and pescado con Coco. From El Salvador guests will be able to try the mouthwatering tostadas de platano, and pupusas. Indio viejo, vigoron and gallo pinto will be some of the dishes available from Nicaragua. Costa Rican cuisine will showcase camote al horno, palmitos, pescado en adobo, and ensalada de pijibay. Last but not the least, Guatemalan dishes like pacayas, torta de arroz, and pollo con loroco will be available as well.

InterContinental at Doral Miami being centrally located in the heart of Doral is proactive in engaging the community that includes not just local hotel guests but local businesses as well foreign dignitaries. According to Mr. Salgado, the idea of bringing together Mexican and Central American cuisine as a food festival began by bringing a chef from the different countries for the festivals. Today, the multicultural kitchen staff is vital to the success of the Mexican and Central American food festivals because they create their favorite national dishes, while patrons benefit from the delicious food.

The Mexican and Central American Food Festival will showcase a selection of different regional Mexican cuisines from September 3 to 14. Lunch buffet is $20.95++ (11:30-1:30 pm), late lunch is $20.00 all inclusive (1:30-3:00 pm) and the dinner specials at $24.95++.
