Miami History-Inspired Artist to Unveil New Studio and “Behind the Lights” Collection, Dedicated Painting to Benefit American Red Cross

Celebrating the success of his Art Basel satellite event reception last December, fine artist Eleazar Delgado is looking forward to having his beautiful art permanently on display at the new Eleazar Delgado Studio in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District at 2703 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33127.

Community dignitaries and celebrity socialites are confirmed to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and VIP Preview of Eleazar Delgado’s new creative space in the thriving Wynwood area where the artists will be presented with a proclamation from Miami-Dade county officials declaring the day “Eleazar Delgado Studio Day.” The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 7th at 6:30pm. The private, invite-only, blue-carpet affair will continue with a cocktail reception accented by cupcakes, color and creativity. The event will be hosted by an art-loving, philanthropist and socialite group of ladies, Allison Weiss Brady, Amy Rosenberg, Tina Carlo, Elena Santayana and Erin Newberg who are supporting Eleazar Delgado’s latest venture.

In light of the recent tragedy in Japan, Delgado felt it was fit to donate a dedicated piece to American Red Cross in hopes to raise much needed funds for this vital organization. American Red Cross Miami Chapter leaders will be at the event to accept the donation.

Currently on display at Eleazar Delgado Studio is the artists’ Behind the Lights collection. Created in Miami and inspired by the same, the prolific work of Eleazar Delgado’s Behind the Lights collection is a true mirror image of the beauty and complexity behind Miami’s history. Born in Oklahoma, raised in Venezuela, Eleazar returned to Miami, a city he fell in love with at first sight during his youth. He turned his love and inspiration into a beautiful collection honoring the original Miami benefactors with works entitled Julia, Flagler and Fisher, to name a few. While many choose to paint on canvas, Delgado paints on doors as a symbolic representation of the doors his subjects opened for Miami’s citizens.

“My work illuminates portals to expose the beautiful way color and light shape the relationship of Miami’s visionaries with the Magic City. Each subject chosen for this collection was a door to Miami’s development and enrichment. My visual relation tells a story, using native symbols of plants, animals, landmarks and those who had the vision to see behind the wilderness. Their enthusiasm and courage inspired this exploration of the people who shaped Miami,” said Delgado.

Eleazar Delgado has gone back to his origins, his inner voice; epic painting was his earliest fascination. Behind the Lights explores the relationship between history and art, fully illustrating the story of those who fashioned the Miami we know today. Pulling from this range of discipline, he uses bold, bright colors and geometric patterns, as his epic oil paintings take on a kinetic, 3-dimensional life. Delgado’s work honors Miami’s vibrant lifestyle and beautiful history in an expressionist yet abstract style.

A seasoned professional in the areas of architecture and interior design, US-born, Venezuelan-raised and Miami-based Eleazar Delgado has taken his Miami inspired vision, applying his research of reading between the lines and seeing behind the lights to present oil paintings as a 3-dimensional story.
