The Diamond Ball – Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation’s annual signature gala and South Florida’s grandest charity event pays tribute to the Hospital’s grateful patients, world-class physicians and generous philanthropists. The spectacular themed black-tie affair features entertainment, a sensational silent auction and much more.

The Diamond Ball ranks among the top fundraisers in Florida (BizBash) and is recognized by society’s elite as the launch of the South Florida gala season. The event attracts an esteemed group of business, community and philanthropic notables with strong international connections and a common bond of making a difference in the lives of children.

Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation (MCH Foundation) President & CEO Lucy Morillo-Agnetti announced that Grammy-Award Winning artist Gloria Gaynor will be inducted into the Ambassador David M. Walters International Pediatric Hall of Fame via special video salute at Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation’s 2012 Diamond Ball: A Frosted Masquerade Affair.

The gala will feature Daymond John, Founder & CEO of FUBU and Star of ABC’s Shark Tank, as Master of Ceremonies, with entertainment by the Drew T Band.

Guests of the Diamond Ball will be the first to see the world premiere of the Bald, Brave, Beautiful™ I Will Survive music video, which Gaynor recorded with Miami Children’s Hospital patients and supporters to raise funds to help find a cure and provide hope to children facing cancer.

“We are proud to honor Gloria for her support of our beloved hospital and the patients and families we serve,” said Lucy Morillo-Agnetti, President & CEO of Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation. “We are excited to salute her work as we kick off the social season in style.”

Named after the first Chairman and President of MCH Foundation, the Ambassador David M. Walters International Pediatric Hall of Fame was created in 1986 to recognize and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the health and happiness of children everywhere. It is the highest honor bestowed by MCH Foundation.

Gaynor will join an exclusive group of legendary children’s advocates, including: Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Barbara and Jack Nicklaus, Dwyane Wade, Beyoncé Knowles, Walt Disney and Audrey Hepburn, among others.

Gaynor was selected for her work on behalf of children, not just in her own backyard, but on a global scale. For years, she has supported a variety of leading children’s causes and other philanthropic organizations.
