Over 2,500 Thanksgiving Meals to be served on Miami Rescue Mission/Broward Outreach Centers Campuses

The Miami Rescue Mission/Broward Outreach Centers and over 600 volunteers will provide over 2,500 traditional Thanksgiving meals for the homeless and hungry of Miami-Dade and Broward County at The Great Thanksgiving Banquet and Outside Block Parties.

The Miami Rescue Mission/Broward Outreach Centers know that Thanksgiving is a time of celebration and is eager to help provide a festive atmosphere to the homeless and hungry of South Florida. All three campuses will be holding their annual block party and Great Thanksgiving Banquet to make the day special for our community.

In addition to a traditional Thanksgiving meal, there will be entertainment at each location for both children and adults that will include a “kid’s corner,” live music and other fun activities. Various giveaways and services will be on each campus during the outside event and festivities. Clothes and hygiene products will be given to those families in need as well as services such as haircuts, shoulder massages and blood pressure checks.

As The Great Thanksgiving Banquet approaches, the community is already coming together as shown by Gold Sponsor Jani-King, the King of Clean and those expected to serve as Honorary Chairs: Mayor of Tamarac Pamela Bushnell, Candidate for State Representative Katie Edwards, Radio Show Host Joe Johnson of Majic 102.7 FM and Radio Show Host Freddie Falcon of 103.5 FM Super X.

Since 1922 the Miami Rescue Mission (a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization) Centers have served the homeless and needy men, women, and children of Miami. Every day the organization provides food, shelter, clothing, education, job training, spiritual direction and long-term rehabilitation programs in Miami, Hollywood and Pompano to nearly 1,000 homeless. The mission also has at-risk after-school and summer day camp youth programs. The Miami Rescue Mission started reaching out to the homeless in Broward County in 1992 and in 1997 the Broward Outreach Center in Hollywood was opened. Then in 2002 the Broward Outreach Center in Pompano Beach was opened to serve the homeless in the north end of Broward. For additional information go to:
