Celebrated throughout the world for his remarkable athleticism in the water, Curren has also been a passionate musician since age 15. Curren’s music reflects his personality – quiet at times, but with moments of heavy percussion and rhythm. His raw and honest sound is expressed through beautiful, sometimes haunting songs, layered with folk and blues influences; it is gritty with a minimalist approach. He explores musical styles and combinations of sounds that reflect his unique perspective and personality – he is both famously reclusive and fiercely competitive. Curren has released two albums and has toured throughout the United States, Australia and Europe. RadioWaves marks his second-ever music tour in Florida.

Singer-songwriter William Kimball has created a sound that connects well with Curren’s, blending both acoustic rock melodies and upbeat rhythms. Kimball’s album, Along for the Ride, was released last month and its title track has already been featured in Sarah Jessica Parker’s latest movie “I Don’t Know How She Does It.” Like Curren, the Juno Beach native is a serious surfer, and just one listen through the album’s tracks reveals that the ocean is one of Kimball’s greatest musical inspirations. The pair first met during a live show in Florida in 1994 when Kimball was called onto stage by a friend to sing alongside Curren. By the end of the night, Curren asked Kimball to join his band and complete the rest of the tour. So, this year’s tour is a musical reunion of sorts for two watermen and musicians.

Shows will feature Barbeques, prize package drawings, surfboards autographed by Curren, and giveaways. A portion of proceeds from the RadioWaves tour will benefit Loggerhead Marinelife Center, a non-profit organization that promotes conservation of Florida’s coastal ecosystems with a special focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles.
